It was a one-or-the-other proposition at that point. He couldn't do both.

 

Yeah, the defense is ranked 2nd in NY/A while the offense is ranked 29th. If the offense was ranked top 5 as well he may have a point, in that case you could trust both of them. People are upset that he verbalized the word "queasy" but whether he actually said it or not it would have been obvious he got queasy, and he has very good reason to be queasy. I'm almost always queasy when Tannehill is under center.
