15-7 wow. they should make an exception for him and put him in the hall of fame next year. 66% winning percentage is just mind blowing

No, he just shouldn't be subjected to a Joe Philvin comparison.

    This is it exactly.
Our problem right now is that instead of saying "we will win this game no matter what it takes." Philbin is curled up, mumbling "please, please let us somehow find a way to win...oh God I can't look."

lol fair enough. but you can learn just as much if not from a loser like philbin than a genius like lombardi. with philbin you learn what not to do.

We should have been drafting and grooming QBs to take over post-Marino if we wanted to keep a culture going (see Packers, Colts). This revolving door of QBs (shown as graphics during every primetime game for 10 years) is a huge reason we are seen as poor or mediocre. ...other than our record.

I am in the minority, but the way Tannehill played in the second half last week, was the best QB play I have seen on the Dolphins in a long time, including Pennington. It was different. If he can learn to put together a full half, this team could beat any team in the league. We know he has balls after last year. If you can get him going with someone emotion like Landry, and you hit a couple deep Wallace passes...we are all of a sudden a new team. Fans may even respond, but who knows we blame the current team for past ills more than any other team's fans IMO.

I would say our team could be defined by our edge rushers this millennium. Taylor, Porter, Wake....when you watch another team without an edge rusher, it makes you appreciate them much more. D Jordan not being what I expected has been very disappointing.

Agree. And that starts and ends with ownership, imo.

It starts with ownership, for sure. Ross surely wants to win, but his whole approach is a mediocre one. And, he doesn't understand the league at all. He's made poor decisions all the way through.

However, ultimately, it means an owner who makes the right decisions about coach/GM - and they become the one who set that culture in the locker room and on the field.

Harbaugh is a great example - he immediately turned the 49ers (who had talent for sure) into a winner when they struggled under Singletary. Whatever one says about him now, the 49ers have won and dominated every year.

Sometimes a player can make a difference (Manning going to Denver, for example). But, for the most part it is a coach with a powerful personality who knows football.

There are 32 of these positions in the world. And, there are less than 10 of those who are getting the job done consistently in this way. So, it is a rare thing.

Tannehill bounced back nicely which is a good sign but Pennington would have found a way to make something on that 2nd and 9. You have to be able to grit out a win like that, this game was very reminiscent of the Bills game after the bye last year. He started out horrid, bounced back but when we needed a play at the end he couldn't deliver.

thats because he doesn't know how to incorporate his legs into the equation, and the coach doesn't run him enough or roll him enough..its all getting freakin strange if you ask me..i mean the guy never takes off and runs for a first down, can you remember the last time he did that?

We now know he doesn't have an affinity for running the football...somethin is missing.

I'm with you. I know I would roll him out at least once a series, some of his best plays have came after escaping a would be sack like the play in the Packers game, maybe it would wake something up in him if we forced it more often. Under Sherman his passer rating was best on play action and on rollouts and we've seemingly gone out of our way to eliminate both from our offense instead of trying to incorporate more of those things.
