they're playing for something..to come off a loss like that and dominate on the road..thats exciting, lets get to some observations.

I thought we are the tougher team, and it showed.

Yeah, I will say it again, Brandon Marshall is overrated..and I believe if you look past the stats you can see where I'm coming from, this is a player that demands chances to pull his numbers, i don't believe he requires a double team, and quickness is his enemy, he has no speed, and looks to go horizontal waaaay too much..good solid possession receiver, but if he's getting the majority of your targets its not a recipe for success.

Chis Mccain watching his brothers back I like..this is a large man y'all, that moves a bit differently, if he can stay mentally focused on being a professional football player, hickey got a star.

yeah i thought jenkins and misi could shut down the upright style of forte and they did, he was a non factor, doesn't have enough explosiveness to deal with our linebackers quickness, only thing that dude was gonna get was some outlet passes..good for you buddy, but your slow son, kinda like your receivers.

release the mother grabbing kraken!!not much else to say.

    wallace with another Td.

Ryan Tannehill...played a full game and he called it, said now was the time and he did, my only complaints in this game is he has to pull the trigger on the read option when its completely open, and i promise you when they look at the tape, it will show wiiiiide open lanes..good job though, i would like to point out one play from last week that made me feel like i had seen a level that he hadn't reached before and that was the simple forward lateral shovel pass, that played showed me some sense of awareness and urgency.

anyways, lazor seems to finally understand that he needs to keep his qb moving around, however, my only complaint with him is when ryan is in a third down situation, don't just keep him stationary in the pocket, thats the time to move him around because we all know that evading pressure and moving laterally trying to do so is not his strength, there are schematic ways to mitigate those negative plays.

Jenkins, Misi, Mccain..looks like were not as desperate as we thought..

tell you what, we were a top 10 defense going into the game, total yards given up should move us up the rankings..me likey.

    what happened to grimey?

thought reshad jones balled last week and looked real hungry doing so, he's playing high level safety, needs to do a better job when returning his int..bad ball security the whole way and the fumble was predictable, but he's got a nice look this season.

we get dion jordan back next week..good thing we have reporters that stay on top of the story...right... we have no idea where this kid is at mentally or physically..but I'm excited to see him, and his physique.

Miller is definitely running at a different speed then ever before.

Stilll think we should make a move at the trade deadline if something is there, if miller goes down we can't survive at that position.

yeah only gave up 224 yards total...4.4 yards per play...move us up the ranks son..

so happy were on the road in Jax.

had us going on a 3 game win streak, 1 down, 2 to go..the team needs to beat the chargers at home to help mend some wounds..

Philbin continues to grind..no mistakes that i saw..

were back on track, we faced the best qb in the league last week bar none, and we won imo..everything else should be easier from a defensive perspective.

our defense has the look of a top 5 unit..respect..

i want that defense to shut out the jags next week.

The numbers are all lies when it comes to BM. The bears have not returned to the playoffs since they made the trade for him. Statistically their offense is good. What i've seen (against the Jets a few weeks ago and now against us today) that offense isn't that great.

not to mention the obvious toll BM puts on your lockerroom.

Yep...NOT the worst trade we ever made...what we did with the picks maybe...but not the trade itself.

How about them finally running a bootleg, and the read option on a 4th and 1.

I am and have been in complete agreement with you that we not only need to run these plays, we need to run them on the biggest plays that matter. Good things happen and it greatly mitigates Tanne weak pocket presence.

    Good stuff.

Though I think the staff must balance the short term gains of running Tannehill vs preserving his longevity. Today was a virtual must win so I'm not surprised there was more read option but it's not something I'd want to see every single week.

He's been great on kickoffs...the first FG was a slight miss, the other was blocked - the line let the surge in too far and dude's hand was in the perfect spot.

    Punting though...

On the subject of the Tannehill shovel pass last week, I saw something like that again this week. Play that stood out to me today: Jared Allen jumps in front of a quick throw out to the sideline, Tannehill pulls it down and then sidearms it around him.

It just feels like he's starting to get some of these little things that have been eluding him.

well today he had 6 carries for 50 yards...ive stated that he needs to have 5 to 7 per game and 4 rollouts a game to get the best out of his skill set and help our overall offense be more effective off play action.

i agree with you on those third and threes and fours, also he had a few edges today that were so wide open he would of had over a hundred yards..i mean really wide open..

no kidding. BM hasn't been valuable to his team (based on his contract) since his rookie contract.

Tannehill did play a very efficient game today and I was impressed, but he also made his typical 3-5 mistakes per game that could have killed us. He had two interceptions dropped and I have no idea what he was thinking when he didn't run in for the TD in the 4th quarter. The defenders weren't even facing him and he had everybody beat EASILY....so he definitely has room to grow still. Like others said though, he's trusting the read option a little more and reacting to the DB instead of just hoping Miller makes the play, and that's something that we can easily grow on moving forward.

I liked that Philbin went for it on a couple of 4th downs, the challenge was stupid though because it was clear we didn't have that 1st down. We actually should have lost a yard off that challenge, and I don't know why you throw a flag when the offense is moving efficiently. If anything, throw the flag on the PI call where the ball had zero chance of being caught...that one was ridiculous.

Also, the defense played another solid game and I'm starting to think we have something special in Miami...the way they go for the strips on every play really makes a difference too. I am very proud of them as a unit and I think they'll only get better once they gain some respect and confidence.

Again, great day by Tannehill and that makes all the difference. As long as he continues to take baby steps on progressing, then I couldn't be happier having him lead this offense.

I thought the challenge was smart. They were likely looking at a timeout anyway to get a surefire 4th down play in regardless, so there wasn't anything to lose.

I think those 6 carries are counting the two kneel-downs.. If I'm not mistaken, it was 4 carries for 50 yds, not counting them.

Had nothing to do with the periods Dj, but don't sweat it. I love your posts good or bad grammar.

    In case you were wondering:

we're or we are instead of were, unless you meant they were tough past tense...

They're or they are instead of their

Ok, taking my grammar badge off now.

    thats messed up if so.

    so a 10 yard average..

only have close estimates, but i would estimate that over his career ryan has about 30 read option carries and id be willing to bet he's over 6 yards a carry on those.

Agreed that he needs to run more often, especially in the redzone... we left points on the board because of him not running near the endzone.

I didn't even think about that. If they were going to take a timeout there, then you're right, it didn't hurt them any (it just gave a longer time-out). He had to know that they definitely didn't have the 1st down though...that one wasn't even close.

  27. PhinFan1968

Right...and Philbin's usually dead-on with his challenges...his one redeeming consistency...so I thought they did it intentionally to get the timeout, and what the heck, possibly get a reversal, you never know.

I respected the heck out of that decision.
