Was dealing B Marshall away for two 3rds the dumbest trade in franchise history?

LOL at this thread after yesterday. Dude just threw his QB under a Mac Truck! Say what you will about Mike Wallace, he's been a team player for his tenure on the team.

I remember the last time the Phins played da Bears was on a Thursday night where the Phins had to start something called Tyler Thigpen. The Dolphins D played very well but the Offence couldn't move.

I do remember one really good play by B-Marsh which was completely ruined by tossing the ball to Cutler on the bench after running out of bounds getting him a flag.

Dude is a head case, why is he on Inside the NFL?

 

It has been rumored that Philbin wanted him out of here because he is a loose cannon liable to disrupt the lockerroom and the staff.

BTW despite the love he got from some of our pundits I never thought Cutler would be more than an average QB. I still feel that way.His delivery is wonky which leads to inconsistency.

 

Bc they know he'll probably say or do something dumb and it'll help their ratings.

NFL films had him mic'd up for the Dolphins game and had a segment with during the Sound FX show on the NFL Network.

He said that the Phins "Cut" him. Really Brandon REALLY!!! Do you have any awareness of the current mood of the league you play in? If you pulled the crap you did, while a Dolphin, this year you'd have been suspended indefinitely. You're lucky you didn't pull that crap in an elevator with a camera.

 

It was both a good move and a bad move. Got rid of this guy with a few loose screws in his head. But drafted garbage with the pics from it. At WR he was replaced with...get ready for it...Legedu Naanee. Because...Ireland.

 

The pick we got for Vontae Davis was used to select Jamar Taylor.

 

I think Urlacher had it right with regards to Cutler...theres nothing elite about him except his paycheck (hes the highest paid QB in the league this year I believe at like 21.7M). His delivery messes up once in a while but hes just got "bonehead syndrome" where he is prone to relying on arm talent when attempting to force difficult throws. It works for him many times but theres at least 2-3x a game where a ball should be and usually is, picked off because he made a stupid decision. "Bonehead Syndrome" affects about 25% of starting QB's, typically stronger armed ones that rely too much on their "cannon arm". Cutler is the prime example.

As for Marshall, I wasnt thrilled with the trade but I understood it. I wish we had used the picks better. Thats my only real lament about it. I liked Marshall when he was here but hes not the game changer we thought he was going to be so we cut our losses and our advil bill for a couple of picks.
