Per Armando, the Dolphins have inquired about Doug Martin. I wouldn't give them any more than a 4th.

Greeeaaat. They're probably asking for a second, or a third and a conditional (which I would think long about). Let's face it, this team will be adding a complement to Lamar Miller eventually, and while Martin has had injury issues of late, he's somebody I'd really look at. He'd probably be a better option on pass plays and he's better in between the tackles than Miller. Those two would make for a pretty great backfield if Martin can get and stay healthy. I'd look at it as a stash for next year too, if you're going to use a draft pick to fill the need then why not get a guy who has proven it in the NFL already? He's just stewing away on a bad team that's entering sell mode.

Reports are that Lynch is on his way out in Seattle, though due to their lack of depth most expect him to just be released after the season. But maybe they could be enticed with the right offer? They did give away Harvin (another problem child) cheap. Granted, I don't know that we're a great fit for troubled players.

He's upset because they reduced his role in the offense though, here he would be splitting carries most likely. I'm not sure if that's a great fit. He's a good player though.

Cooper is much more similar to Jordy Nelson than Hartline is or every will be. Chip would never do it, but I'd trade Hartline for Cooper in an instant.

Even though in a bag of nachos. :)

Thomas has been much better since his return, but is not on a par with a healthy Doug Martin IMO.

I really would like to trade for Vincent Jackson if we are going to do any trading..he is available and he is big, strong, fast receiver who can jump..would give us a really good #1 & #2 as well as Landry and Matthews would be very productive

lol. I'm thinking we trade for Cooper, and he instantly becomes Brian Hartline in Miami.

I think Hartline and Gibson should feel very uncomfortable the next coming days... my guess is one or both won't be a Dolphin after the deadline.

Hartline to Seattle for Christine Michael? They can use a Wr, we can use a thunder to Millers lightning.

I'd deal Gibson for a 6 to wherever. Landry should be getting more snaps and this would free up a few extra.

I'd love to do this as well but his cap numbers going forward, especially in an offseason where we have a lot of major FAs to resign are probably prohibitive. I don't know the contract structure off the top of my head but I know he was paid much more then Hartline in terms of contract value

I'm betting Miami probably sits tight, but if they were interested in making a move, I'd look at Pierre Garcon and Andre Johnson as guys that could replace Hartline on the perimeter; still allows you to have someone opposite Wallace who can do things and let Landry stay in the slot.

Doug Martin really doesn't interest me at all; he can't stay healthy. I hope Dennis Hickey's over that crush. Now, if they'd give Logan Mankins away, I'll listen. :shifty:

Really can't think of anyone else that could potentially be on the block that interests me though.

I did a search of the thread to see if Cecil Shorts had already been mentioned, and sure enough, CK beat me to it. It'd be in Jax's best interest to trade him for a 5th or later now while they can get something for him since they're not gonna re-sign him as a free agent.

If Fisher is on the hot seat, they might wanna keep Tavon around in case the new coach wants to employ a system that can actually use him, no? Have no idea WTH they were thinking drafting him for a Jeff Fisher team in the first place, let alone trading up for him. After losing Brian Quick, would they take Gibson back plus, or perhaps Shelby to replace the injured Long?

IIRC Minnesota is high on Exume and believes he's the starter of the future. They even cut a few veteran safeties to keep him as the backup this year.

Yeah I could only dream we would steal David away. That would easily take a 1st rounder so thats just not happening. He's a top 5 LB in the game though IMO
