while I was watching the redskins - cowboys game last night something occurred to me for the first time and that was Jerry Jones was down on the sidelines talking to Jason Garrett after Romo got hurt . I thought it was joke for the owner to be talking to the coach . I came to the conclusion that I would never be happy as a dolphin fan with Jerry Jones was the owner . I always respected H.Wayne . Huzengia I don't know if ths is spelled right but I really do respect MR. H. because he had class . Now don't know if any of you liked H.W. HUZENGIA BUT I DID . I don't really like Mr. Ross but I will wait until aft next year before I make that decision on how good of a owner M.R. Ross is or isn't. One thing I can say is I am glad Jerry Jones doesn't own the Miami Dolphins . who do you guys like as owners I like the Rooney Family myself.
HATE..one word....JONES. The guy is an Ego maniac. One minute hes in the VIP watching the game, the next he has a headset on doing an interview during the game which was a bit weird. The next he is apparently rushing down to the locker room to see how Romo was with his back, the next he was on the sideline informing the Head Coach about Romo. Few minutes later he's back in the VIP! I wouldnt be suprised if Jones was actually telling Garrett to put Romo back in. Jones is the definition of a control freak. They must have seriously fast elevators or stair lifts at the Cowboys stadium.
Did you see in his interview after the game, Jones was sweatin. All that running around must be puttin some stress on that old man.
I originally thought it would be easy to put together a list of half the owners in the NFL, but holy crap. What a rogue's gallery of absolute *******s, meddlers, incompetents(and at least one burnout). I think I'd have to go with the Packers model of public ownership. That way you've got an element of merit and ability, at very least. Barring that maybe we could invest heavily in the technology to bring back or create an artificial intelligence of a lucid Al Davis in his prime.
Im probably in the minority but I don't mind Ross. He stays out of the football decisions and has shown the willingness to spend the money. He's made some rookie, inexperienced mistakes like with the Sparano/Harbaugh fiasco but really the problem was that he had the first few years of his tenure wasted by a guy that wanted to run a team while being semi retired. Parcells gave us a ****ty roster, ****ty GM, ****ty coach and didn't do anything to show Ross how to run a first class organization. We've been down ever since. I think Ross will be fine once we get the pieces in place. He's not a control freak like Jerry Jones. I mean Jones was on the field to actually make decisions during the game and if Garrett says otherwise he's a liar, Jones runs that team the wrong way, I'd hate to have him as the owner here. He's hard to root for.
I wouldn't like, I would LOVE Eddie DeBartolo, Jr. as the new owner. I think I hate your font size....
Id love to have Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks), the Steinbrenner family (NYY), John Henry (Red Sox) or Mike Illitch (Tigers/Red Wings) as owners who currently do not own a team. Out of current owners the Mara's/Tisch family (NYG), Rooneys (Pitt) and Packers Public ownership are the teams/models I like the most with regards to their owners. Out of current owners Woody Johnson, Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder and the Davis Family are what I would least aspire to.
I am not all against MR ROSS but there are some things I wish he would do but I will wait until after the season before I say it.
