Should Pouncey move back to center? That's his natural position, wouldn't we rather have him there than playing less than what he is capable of at another?

Man Phillip Rivers is a top five elite QB. I hope our defense is up for the challenge. I can't believe how slept on Rivers actually is. Guy reminds me so much of Dan Marino.

We need to go 5-0 at home the rest of the way and beat the jets on the road to be 10-6 and then if we win any other road game like New England it is icing on the cake and it can be done..come on Dolfans..let's rock the house at JRS

He was healthy enough to play last week, but Detroit thought they could win without him again, and they were right. Once he's back everything opens up for Tate again, And if Reggie is back, it's pretty much a wrap.

Besides, you say we'll lose against the Ravens because of their front meanwhile the Lions have a much better front than the Ravens. They have been destroying offensive lines and are the reason why the Lions came back to win that game against Atlanta last Sunday, completely erasing them in the second half.

even more reason why its not a great idea to start games on the road with play calls that keep ryan static in the pocket..better figure it out real quick.

Cory Liuget is a guy who will cause trouble imo, he also has penciled in this game he said on the chargers homepage because he feels he hurt his team last year with a roughing the passer call, miami scored 2 plays later to make it 10-7, we have trouble with these kind of DT's / DE's, just like Marks last week, JaWuan James will have to have a good game this week

The problem is we barely have one guard worth starting let alone two. Also Pouncey is getting his feet wet again after missing a lot of time. I say we see what happens before we switch back.

    Well away from here
Corners were good, as Jimmy Smith is out for a while. Hey at the end of the day, if you want to compete for a championship then you are going to play good teams. A good team doesn't fear other good teams, they enjoy playing them.

which is bad news for us imo, flowers probably would have been cleared with his concussion, but the status of verrett was described as bad, i hope they did cut marshal anyways, but maybe verrett is playing

In all seriousness I have a feeling that at least one Eric Weddle interception is practically guaranteed against Ryan Tannehill. Not trying to hate on anyone. Just saying. They're a bad matchup because Weddle LOVES to get a bead on quarterback tendencies on film and then jump them during the game, and Tannehill LOVES to go to the well one-too-many times.

While the status of Jason Verrett is important, the status of Brandon Flowers is probably more important. He missed the Thursday game following the concussion protocol but he does not seem likely to miss this game 11 days later.

Jahlil Addae will certainly be out. Not really very good, though. Darrell Stuckey will probably come in for him and I actually think Stuckey is a decent player.

Peyton Manning picked on Shareece Wright mercilessly, it appears. I haven't done the film review to be certain, but my instincts tell me that with both Brandon Flowers and Jason Verrett out for most of the game, Manning knew the Chargers would be trying to cover up the replacement and rely on Wright to hold his own. But he was facing Demaryius Thomas and I'm not sure that was going to work out so well. But Demaryius is a different kind of player from Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace. They won't be able to attack Wright with physicality. But with Wright's physicality in question, look for Miami to pop some screens over in his direction to see if he can hold containment.

The interesting guy who will get some more playing time is probably Chris Davis. Depending on whether they just toss Richard Crawford into the fire right away, of course. I made no secret of my mancrush on Davis coming out of college. Some people may remember that he's the guy that burned Nick Saban for trying that super-long field goal, as Davis fielded the ball as it fell short and returned it like 108 yards or whatever for the touchdown. Not many people will remember that Davis was actually a very consistent and play-making corner on that defense. He let up the touchdown on the 6'5" Kelvin Benjamin at the end, but the ball was thrown perfectly and it's a little much to have a 5'10" guy on a 6'5" & 240 lbs guy on the goal line with a Heisman quarterback throwing the ball in the perfect spot. Even so as I recall Davis damn near swiped the ball because he has impressive ups. Davis is a bit like Brent Grimes that way.

Even so Davis is the rookie so that will be the guy Miami tries to pick on, I would think.

On the other side of the ball, the nagging feeling I get is that this will be the game where Ladarius Green finally starts to make a difference. People that have been following his talent and seeing it on film have been waiting for this guy to break out because he's tremendously efficient and has great talent (6'6" with 4.45 speed). But he's stuck a bit behind Antonio Gates who is having a good year. But given the way Kansas City exploited specific holes in our defense, I believe the Chargers may try and hit us up with some of the more uncommon and overlooked weapons with Green being first and foremost among them.

The other one is Branden Oliver in the passing game. I'd look out for that as well. Nobody dumps to the backs more aggressively and with better timing than Philip Rivers.

Don't be surprised if FB David Johnson gets into the picture that way as well. I watched a lot of film on him in Pittsburgh as he was a free agent, and he's an underrated player especially in the passing game.

I think it's because of a combination of Marshall being terrible and Flowers coming back. Marshall was partially responsible for Emmanuel Sanders having such a sick day against the Chargers. He would have faced that kind of speed in Mike Wallace if he played against Miami, and Miami would have made sure they got matched up a few times.

I don't imagine Verrett will play.

Something I imagine the Chargers working on would be sending quick flares out to the tailback to Cameron Wake's side, giving him other things to think about so that he can't just go ahead and dominate D.J. Fluker all day. If Miami wants to defend that they've got to work on it with their linebackers because Oliver is a shifty little bugger and regularly makes people miss.

I think what I'm getting at is that Miami's base defensive package may be vulnerable to the depth of weaponry on the Chargers roster.

When the Chargers go into 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) and Miami responds with nickel, I'm not sure just how much of an advantage the Chargers would think they have with Keenan Allen, Malcolm Floyd and Eddie Royal. Clearly Antonio Gates is a multi-faceted weapon that could hurt us, but with our nickel package on the field our options for defending him are probably a little more desirable.

But I think that when the Chargers go into 12 personnel (1 RB, 2 TE, 2 WR), or 21 personnel (2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR) or even 22 personnel (2 RB, 2 TE, 1 WR) then they could flip the script a little bit by isolating guys like Branden Oliver, Ladarius Green and even David Johnson in coverage against guys that may not be all that comfortable out there (e.g. Philip Wheeler lining up wide on Andrew Quarless). If they line up with those personnel packages, drawing our base package, and then they spread us out wide...they could really get some mismatches.

Even with Fairley out the Detroit defense is playing so damn well at home. I think all the extracurricular stuff with Ndamukong Suh distracts people from the reality that he's one of the best, if not the best DT in the game.

They're allowing like 15 points per game at home.

If we're going to win that game it's going to be because we bottle up their offense, IMO. But we're going to have to do that the hard way because I truly believe the bye week will see Calvin Johnson return. I don't know who else will return but it's borderline amazing they can still win games as they've been without Calvin Johnson, Joseph Fauria, Brandon Pettigrew, Eric Ebron, Reggie Bush and LaAdrian Waddle. They've won three games in a row without a lot of those guys.

You ask me, that's the kind of team that scares me...the ones that deal with a lot of adversity and still play tough. Those ****ers are 6-2 and one of those losses was a real tight one against the Bills.

I think we are in pretty big trouble if Misi doesn't play this game. As alluded to, Rivers loves his TE and RBs. The more guys like Trusnik and Wheeler are on the field the worse off we are. Fortunately, Wheeler has really had his snaps limited lately. Unfortunately, Trusnik has not. If Misi is out…I think you you have to get creative in the nickel and speed packages we use by utilizing McCain as the 2nd LB with Jenkins. Trusnik will get abused in coverage and really its not like we are losing out in the run game without him either.

It is hard to actually believe in them. After years of looking at the Lions as the young team on the rise only to watch them suck, I am still expecting them to finish 6-10.

I just watched some videos from the players on the chargers website , Dwight Freeney really is a cool guy to listen to, but i don´t know how often he used the phrase "we are a banged up team", it even went that far that he looked over to the left where probably a PR guy told him with hand signals to stop going that route

Sounds like us too. By the way DEtroit has been to the playoffs more recent than us. So why should you believe on this team but not the Lions? Because theyre the Lions? We are the Dolphins and have been just as mediocre.
