can you look at those end zone corners in the lower bowl and see something going on there?.

They say in print that their going to be ''MOVING 3,900 seats CLOSER TO THE FIELD''...however, on this page you will notice where they do not mention any reconfiguring of concrete at all.

Ive read that they're gonna move those seats to the lower bowl, and in the pics here you can see a change, Which tells me that their not just adding rows at the bottom of the lower bowl their actually going to reconfigure a little and I think that area is in each corner of the end zones, if you look at the new pics of the renovation, you see something different there with the alignment in that area..

    what do you all see?

A jammed packed stadium full of Dolfans if the team continues to get better and we have Championship talent and COACHING so that we have an awesome chance to bring the Lombardi back to Miami....I have to tell you Deej that I have been to the stadium several times with 75000 plus loud screaming Dolfans rocking the " house that Robbie built." It's not the stadium but the product that has been on the field for the last 20 or so years with a few exceptions...the new renovations ( especially the shade ) coupled with a great team on the field will get the stadium rocking again.

No brother, I'm not gonna go there in terms of the venue and what it doesn't provide, just trying to see if those areas I pointed out are the real deal, concrete being reconfigured.

It looks like there are more rows in the lower bowl.
I think there are currently 32. The new pic looks more like 40.

Love the seats will be dark blue. You def get a feel of a more intimate football stadium..and I think its distinctively south florida. You look at what they spent on new stadium in NY..and theres nothing about it that has character. You could stick that stadium anywhere and its..eh..and they spent 2 bil on that.

I def see concrete construction..just put that pic next to another from Sun Life

The entire lower bowl is completely different. The players tunnel is gone and it looks like there are 2 of them now in the far corners of the end zones. The entry tunnels for the 100 level are gone and are now directly below the upper level.

Edit: The entry tunnels are still there but something is different about the 200 level. It doesn't look like any of it is under the upper deck any more. It also looks like there are fewer rows throughout the upper deck.

The new stadium from your link shows smaller/narrower sidelines so it does mean they added seats to the bottom level.

I don't like the kite looking roof. And the sidelines appear to be just as deep as they've always been.

If you look at the lower bowl as is, it's completely symmetrical, if you look at the 2nd pic on the link it's not in the four corners where the lower bowl meets the upper bowl, and it's not symmetrical at the bottom corners, you see that right?

They can't move the bowl closer, but I think there is some sort of bridge there in the lower corners of the endzone to narrow the depth of the corners.

Why do you say they cant move it closer?

Taking a 2nd look, I see the lower seats dont taper away from the field like they currently do.

Yeah. I think that is where the new player tunnels are. It's probably more symmetrical on the Dolphins side.

Check out the upper deck tunnels. They are all the way at the bottom. It looks like 5 to 10 rows have been removed all the way around.

What is that, a whole 7 yards closer to the field? I don't think I'll be happy with anything they do at that site, until they pull it all down and try again.

I think the pictures you guys are looking at are just mocks. Not sure that is going to be exactly how it ends up.

Not sure. I'm just messing around in Microsoft paint trying to illustrate the changes. It's hard to know how far that angle in the corner goes currently in comparison to post revision. The further the angle actually goes currently, the more that is being added. Compared to the current corner in the first picture, it looks like that angle continues further than my Paint drawing illustrates... as those angled sections are quite wide right now. I was just trying to point it out...

Deej, I think you're dramatically underestimating the effect the canopy is going to have on not only keeping butts in seats but also in amplifying the sound.

Holy ish .... A more drastic discovery. My section is GONE. look at the 400's in each corner. I was about to complain about the smaller big-screens being farther away, until I noticed they totally axed the nose bleeders to accommodate them! But for some reason, the lower rows (upper level) are wiped out as well. I'm row 2, some of my buds in row one have held those seats since the thing opened in 87'! I wonder when/if we'll get official notice before renewal.

It does look to me like the seats are slightly closer to the sidelines. I also absolutely hate the tentpoles for the canopy. There has to be a better way.

Indeed. If anyone wants a taste, watch a soccer match played at the San Siro in Milan; it doesn't boom, but you can probably hear what the last guy all the way up in the grandstands just yelled. That flat canopy seems to focus the sound right onto the field. A dome might boom, but acoustically it feels like it echoes and the sound seems to come up before it comes down.

With the flat canopy, there's much less echo, and more sharp loudness projected directed right at the players.

I can't say I love the look of a flat canopy, but I do expect it will dramatically increase the noise. I'll take that trade-off happily.

Aaaaaaannnnnnnnnd there'll be less roasted fans. Which means more people in the stands instead of in the tunnels and concourse.

Speaking of tunnels. Having the tunnels where they are currently makes no sense. I never thought about it, but it's really just a gap in seating sections directly facing the endzones which further takes the crowd out of the game.

Corner tunnels makes a ton more sense.

Because you can't move the foundation, meaning you won't be able to get the last row of the upper deck any closer than it is, you can't phisically move the lower bowl literally closer to the field, but you can build some bridges in the corners of the endzones that cut the depth as it is now.

No I'm not, I've taken it into account..of course the canopy will trap some sound but the major problem is engaging the fan thru intimacy, that's where you get fans to feel like their part of the game, literally a close feeling, and when you do that, they feel more compelled to stand and engage into the game, the farther away the more spectator feel they get, the more distant they actually feel, kinda like " fu@@ it, I'm so far away they can't hear me anyway type attitude"

That's why it's so important even if it's 4000 seats, it could help the team so much more, when players feel like fans are on top of them they are more compelled to perform at a higher level, the more they feel like the spotlight is on them and they can't hide, the harder they will perform, the closer the fans energy is to them the more sustained their own energy will be.

Well, they are going to be closer. And again the sound level will be drastically higher and it will easier for the fans to stay near their seats.

I don't see how a clear glass canopy can make it any cooler for the fans. Seems like it would be like the inside of a car in 95 degrees not moving with the windows half open. There may be protection from the harmful UV rays but not the heat.

This is absolutely true,it's the best purpose the canopy serves, comfortabilty from the raging sun, so more people will stay in their seats.

We cannot confirm anything will be closer I don't believe. I have that one quote, but I'm not sure how accurate it is, for example, on that list of improvements from the link it doesn't say anything about reconfiguring anything..however I remember when mike dee was here he was always talking about getting the seats closer, and how he understood how the venue put our team at a disadvantage, he talked about how our upper bowl has more seats in it then any other upper bowl in the league..

It pisses me off because we're not clear as to their plan with this issue, which probabaly should tell us all we need to know..nothing is going to happen..with the roof, and the screens and the other improvements I really don't know if there's enough money to reconfigure some concrete in the lower bowl.

I wish someone would ask them some clear questions.
