As Dolphins fans what games were the greatest victories in your history of being a miami fan and what are the most heartbreaking losses? Anyone have any good stories at a game or watching it at home where you cheered loud in victory or broke something in defeat?
most memorable to me was the loss to the Jets in week 17 last year because it secured Ireland's firing.
i don´t write what i want to because i don´t wanna get banned, but if this is truly your most memorable moment as a so called fan, than its clear you are a troll from another board, probably the jets, just GTFO
I lost my voice after the win versus the Ravens during the 1-15 season. That win was crucial for my sanity.
85 Bears game for me...favorite part was the commentators hyping fridge VS Dwight Stephenson and watching Dwight Pancake him all game. *edit* also seeing fridge on the sideline talking with his teamates you could see in his face he had quit.
Giants super bowl against the pats for perfection. I can still remember what I felt like watching Eli shake loose and connect with Tyree. I refused to watch it with my dad who is a huge Pats fan*. * - not kidding, actually wrote Belichek a letter after spygate came out. Wanted him to repent to God for his sins...
Win against Bears in 85. This game had to happen the way it did. Very inspired play by that Phins team. Worst Losses were the Superbowl defeat by the 49ers (they were such a superior team) and the playoff game vs the Jax (felt sorry for Dan).
85 Bears game Thanksgiving game vs Dallas Wildcat game vs Patsies can't remember the year, but when Miami went up into Buffalo and stomped their asses and Louis Oliver had that big interception return "riding them Buffalos all the way back to Miami!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxd3REzy7zE worst games: -playoff loss to San Diego -Monday night debacle - loss to Jets with that stupid Jumbo Elliot TD
There have been a lot of real great ones, but for an oldie like me, of course their first Super Bowl win.
Most memorable wins were the 85 Bears, 1998 Broncos, 98 Bills playoff game, and 2000 playoff game against the Colts. Heartbreaking losses? Too numerous to remember.
1972 Season Super Bowl Miami 14-7 over Washington. 1973 Season Super Bowl 24-7 over Minnesota 85 Bears.game Worst loss to Dallas in our First Super Bowl Loss to San Diego at home playoffs and numerous others
Pete Stoyanovich missing that FG in the '95 AFC Championship Game will always be up there for me as one of my most disappointing memories. Marino, as usual, got little back from the running game (Parmalee); yet he still put the team in a position to win. It was 48 yards ...
DJ then you must have missed the 1981 Eagles game......Jaworski had to come to the line of scrimmage 9 times before he finally got the ball off, and then threw an INT to Lyle Blackwood. The stadium was never louder, even the Bears game wasn't as loud. I do have to say, the 85 Bears game was one of the most satisfactory wins ever, with beating the Cowboys on Monday night in 1984, and Dan Marino going over 4,000 yards that night, in front of the whole nation. The worst loss ever for me was in Oakland in 1974 in the playoff game. I was devastated. I didn't even go to school the next day I was so upset. I heard about ½ the kids at West Miami Jr also didn't go to school that day. This town revolved around the Dolphins back then.
With a high snap, which while still got spotted down, caused Stoyo to hesitate and threw off his timing. As I recall, with it being in the days before all the teams had a LS specialist, Delly did the snapping after butting heads with the Chargers' monster DT Reuben Davis all game. Not an excuse, just the reality. Davis was a force all game long that our interior could not deal with.
The game that is most memorable to me is the OT playoff game against the Chiefs, xmas day 1971. We won despite a Herculean effort by Ed Podolak and got the team on the way to their first SB appearance. That was the game that told me we really had something special going on here. http://www.profootballhof.com/history/decades/1970s/longest_day.aspx
My most memorable games to me: The whole 72 season '85 win against the Bears And the Thanksgiving game against Dallas I cried over these: Play off against San Diego the play off game with Jax (wasn't that Marinos last game?)
Wow Asot I don't know how I forgot the devastating loss to Oakland in 74..I.am right there with you as I was in the 9th grade and we had just moved up to the panhandle..Ft.Walton Beach. That season was already tough on me as my favorite Dolphin Larry Czonka along with Kiick and Warfield had bolted to the WFL. I still to this day say Stabler was down.
Playoff game in 81' against the Chargers is probably the greatest game I watched with the greatest heartbreak also.
