he is not practicing today as well and has a walking boot on his left foot, maybe we see hoskins this sunday, with clay having blocking duties
I did bro, none else seem to acknowledge but thanks. lot of folks took it personally for some reason that I feel like there is a way for our offense to be a better unit and our qb to better his performance, without adding talent to it.. They think they should be protecting tannehill while I'm trying to win games using every GD tool we can use..Its the third year, the fourth may not come unless we win this year, its the third year for the qb, he needs to understand the concept of whatever it takes. Im worried that while Lazor understands that he should of called the game differently, and I respect him for calling himself out, but does he see the point I've been trying to make for a while now..Does he see that he needs to move the pocket as much as possible early in the game, does he see that ryan is not giving him the 4th element of the potential attack because ryan is completely oblivious to the element.
i think coming out of the closet the way he did, the pressure is sure on him this sunday to call a great game Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus using Tapatalk
its really not rocket science and I'm one that doesn't question coordinators too much unless they are like sherman who completely ignored some things, and do think he's done a pretty decent job, i like some of his concepts, especially the read option. The quote that confirmed my concerns and sent me over the edge was by odrick, he said, '' we knew they were gonna come out and collapse the pocket''..and when philbin and Lazor both said..'' we could see on tape that this defense comes out hard and attacks'' So with that, and with what our qb does do well, and with some issues on our interior line, keeping Ryan static in the pocket early only fed that beast..It doesn't make sense on any level, and the results were sacks and tipped passes.. heres hoping he doesn't think that running ryan a bit more, rolling ryan more, and telling ryan to run when he sees a lane, is to much to ask.
Chargers CB Jason Verrett has a torn labrum, he wants to play through it, but will miss 2-3 weeks for now
Miami wins by a touchdown is my prediction. You guys always play very tough at home. You barely lost to us, pounded NE at home, beat the Bengals last year at home. I think you beat SD last year at home am I correct?
CB Brandon Flowers, C Rich Ohrnberger and OLB Dwight Freeney all returned to practice today and were full participation. I imagine they'll play. RB Ryan Mathews (out since Week 2), LB Manti Te'o (out since Week 3), CB Jason Verrett (injured Week 8) and S Jahleel Addae (injured Week 8) will probably not end up playing. The only one of those that is important really is Verrett. Having Brandon Flowers back would be big. He missed the Broncos game and he was playing better than Jason Verrett. The Broncos really picked on the corners with Flowers out the whole game and Verrett missing most of it. They especially liked the matchup of the skinny Shareece Wright on Demaryius Thomas. But they also got huge work done with Emmanuel Sanders on Richard Marshall (whom the Chargers have now cut).
It's the second half of the season for most teams except we've had our bye so we're 7 games in. We're favored against the Chargers by two points and I expect we'll cover that spread so likely a good bet on Miami this week but 70% of the action has been on the Chargers which would pay +130. That's not going to happen and Vegas and the Dolphins will be the winners. This is an important game and the Buffalo game is more important.
Dolphins 27 Chargers 17 Without Matthews they are one dimensional, Rivers is good but he won't beat us on his own.
sort off topic - but hope youre right. Main thing to say - thought you were just a random fan / semi griefer showing up for packers games and start of the season, but I appreciate that you stop around here and there to chime in even when theres nothing too packers related going on. Solid fan by my standards Pack is my go to NFC team and a huge Rodgers sucker, so happy to have you in these parts. Gates and B Oliver can still give us fits I fear...but I feel like we SHOULD win this one. Heres to hoping!
Looks like Dallas Thomas is going to start for College. McCain has a foot problem and for the record, the emotional turmoil that is the drama of his life far surpasses any previous rookie I can remember
When was the last time the Dolphins won 3 games in a row (without being totally out of it or in September?). Even if we played bad and won I'd be pretty happy. I think the game is a tossup because SD is having a really good season and Miami is still an enigma. If Lazor calls a great game and RT has a great game, then I think we have a great shot at winning. But, if Lazor only calls a good game for 3/4 or 1/2 ... I think we'll be in trouble. Like coaches expect of players, Lazor has to execute every play on every series exceptionally well. Even after a generally good game against the Bears there were moments I thought his (or Philbin's - whoever was in charge at certain points) fell short of effective play-calling.
I don't know how great a season San Diego is having. They've feasted on bad teams just like we have. They're limping into the bye and seem to have they're injury excuse ducks in a row. They'll probably be hungry for a win. That's about it as far as factors in their favor go. In video game terms we're their boss level. Just like Houston seems to be ours. Either way they will lay down all their cards to try to steal a win before the bye.
IM READY ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHARGERS?! We've beat the Chargers in 8 of the last 10 meetings. The Chargers haven't beat the Dolphins in Miami since 1982.
Last season in December... We beat the stej, Steelers, and Pats back to back to back before crashing and falling apart against the Bills and stej. All 5 games were meaningful and we had a playoff spot virtually assured until the final game. If we'd won either of the last 2, we were in. We beat the Chargers last season 20-16 with a worst team on both sides of the ball. I'm expecting a win.
Holy Cow I get this game on local tv!!!! Last time that happened we kicked the Pats butt in week 1 this year!
In an earlier thread, I predicted a four game sweep. This will be the third game, and I still believe we win this game.
I'm just getting over a bad flu, and I am so debilitated that I am ready to accept whatever this team serves up to me without anger or complaint. I would really like a victory, though. Would be nice not to have to expect the Bad Dolphins to show up in the first half.
First time I am getting the game on TV here in TN. SOOOOOOO stoked! GO PHINS ( Is it wrong to hide my Phins jersey under my t-shirt while I am in church?0
I have been told God wears his phins jersey every sunday, if its good enough for him it should be good enough for you too
actually it will be dolphins jersey, tshirt, dress shirt (good thing its a cold spell in TN today). My mother in law, whom we take to church with us, laughs and says I look like clark kent switching to superman as we walk into the house and I am unbuttoning my shirt to get to my phins jersey.
Statement game. *sarcasm on* I knew that guy who wanted to blow up this mediocre team in the thread this week was right. We're going nowhere. *sarcasm off* This is going to be a fun rest of the season.
I live in San Diego. So lots of sh** talking. Was challenged to a bet (Georgia got it right). Lose and have to wear the other teams jersey out to eat. We chose Tilted Kilt because, well, it's Tilted Kilt and the talent in San Diego isn't too bad But yeah he has to wear a Dolphins jersey. I have a Ted Ginn jersey laying around somewhere
