I talked Crap since about week 2 and called him "Cannehill" I have to atone for it. Time to eat crow.
this offense fits him like a glove, he is still learning you are going to have bumps in the road, but he is playing the best he has ever played(outside the sleep walking in jacksonville)
It's why you don't bench a young QB in the situation we found ourselves in. I didn't think Tanny would reach this level, but I was never a fan of Moore either. If he can keep this up for the rest of season, we are not only IN the playoffs, but a genuine threat. He has taken a big leap. I want to see him do this against Buffalo and the Jests too though.
What he did well today was escape the pocket and keep his eyes down field. It looked Rodgers-esque. Would have been an even more special performance if some of the passes would have been caught.
Best I've ever seen him play and it's not even close. If this is the kind of performance he can start to bring more often, we're going places.
I am glad I can say I was one who wanted to give Tannehill a shot, now I am not going to crown him yet, but I will give him his dues. He has been pretty good for us lately. He is maturing as a passer. I always said it makes no sense to just give up this early on him and go with Moore and give up this season, especially with the weak QB class next year. I rather see what we have and go with it. Tannehill was growing, still is, but man were people so quick to give up on him with out giving him a chance to learn the new offense. I just hope he keeps it up. Great to see him gain confidence
I also called for Matt Moore to replace Tannehill, from now on whatever Tannehill does, he earned my respect. Sorry Tannehill.
I don't know what game you all are watching. We pulled him for Matt Moore...in exactly the only circumstance I want to see Moore on the field. Statement game.
Feels good to be proven right as an optimist. Still, if you're going to eat crow, this is the scenario you want to do it in. Credit also goes to our Oline and Oline coach. what a difference a year makes.
that touchdown to matthews was one of my favorite plays, where he made a play with his legs to avoid and pressure and threw an absolute strike.
Marino lit a fire under his ***. He is playing very well. But I want to see if he could play at a high level for the remainder of the season and into the playoffs. If he can do this, then we won't need to draft a QB in next years draft.
I've been so negative all year long because well this team will do that to you. I'm totally back in on this season. As it pertains to Tannehill, he was awesome today and he's been more good than bad lately. I'm starting to jump back in on him, also. However, I just need to keep seeing it. I'm not ready to go all in, but he's been so fun to watch lately. Today he was damn near perfect. With a little more help from his receivers, could have been a 4 TD game.
It looked bad early, gotta admit. I had supported him since he was drafted, and even I was starting to waiver early on. It's looking more and more evident all he needed was to get used to the new offense. Him running more like everyone here was begging has also been a huge boon to his game. He's been looking great.
It would still be wise to pick up a good upside guy in around the 2nd/3rd/4th range, not because of his play but because this is an ugly league and teams have to plan for the future.
I agree. I think the best two teams in the AFC at this particular moment are Denver and Miami. However... there are 12 teams at or above .500 in the AFC right now. It's going to be tough to make in into the playoffs as a wildcard. We might see another year where one or two 10-6 teams lose tiebreakers and don't make the playoffs. We need to win the division.
This is a division we can win. I do agree the wild card is pretty brutal. The Colts and Broncos appear all but locked in right now. The North of course will send one but who knows who that will be. The chances are two of the three second place teams in the West, East, and North will get the wild cards, but it very easily could be two from the East or two from the North. Since Miami has done poorly out of conference, things do look pretty good for the team on most tiebreakers at the moment.
I always rely on the opinion of experts Arians 8 games to get acclimated to a new system we are 5-3 so 8 games. Also wtf with the defense good lord!!!!!!!!
Only 23 posts, there are so many more people eating crow now. C'mon there's more members that need to post following bleeting about him most of the year!
tannehill finally has a cast around him that are playing well together. Tannehill likely will never be in the elite class, IMO, by himself. Rarely would he be able to take an average team, put them on his shoulders and carry them. if the guys play around him the rest of the way like the did today, nobody beats us. But the stars and planets aligned perfectly today. Brady or Manning could have played for us today but the outcome wouldn't have been any better. The worse thing that happened today was that Fields actually played a little. while we may very well be on our way to take back the division, every other game will not be like today. As long as eith the O or D really keeps stepping up, we've a good chance to run the table. Damn, I didn't know if I was ever going to be able to ever say that again.
I have been a big Tanny fan, always loved his heart and how much class and poise he demonstrates off of the field, but some of those games made me a little queasy and raised some serious doubts. Glad to see him playing at a very high level. He's an easy guy to root for.
One huge way to both preserve and grow this is to further build the OL. Bills will test us on this and it will be interesting to see if T17 has improved his awareness/decisions/movement under pressure. More OL please Hickey!
If I'm Tanny this week, I'm calling out Wallace publicly...after all his hot air last week, he was terrible this week...
On the other hand, ya gotta give credit to how this OL has rebounded from last week. Tanny had all the time in the world, even tho he was very cool in the pocket, searching out his 2nd, 3rd and 4th receivers at times... They still aren't very good at run blocking, but there's hope... Take away Tanny's runs and they don't look very good...
then it seems to me we must beat Buffalo ,the jets and a another afc team . I of course would like to beat new England and make t a sweep .
I'l tell you what- he was magnificent today for so many reasons. Escaping pressure yet remaining calm, rolling out yet looking down field at multiple targets, looking off his receivers, throwing blocks on trick plays....who is this guy on the field? He has evolved so much in the past month it's almost scary...I think he's an alien life-form pretending to be Tannehill.
I'm not a basher of Tannehill but i did have my doubts, ill eat a lil crow for doubting him. Glad he's a Miami Dolphin.
