I knew Cameron Wake was great already, but I had no idea he has been as elite as he has been since he came storming on in 2009. In the six years that he has been in the league (including this year) he has 58 sacks, which ranks him fourth among active players over that same time span. The only players ahead of him are: Jared Allen: 72.5 Demarcus Ware: 71.5 Tamba Hali: 59 Pretty good company to keep, if you ask me. His numbers would be even gaudier if he wasn't held as often as he is and if he was utilized more his rookie season, but I digress. He is 2 sacks away from moving into second place all-time on Miami Dolphins sacks list (Jeff Cross is number two, Jason Taylor is on another planet at 131) Considering the tireless effort he puts in, it wouldn't surprise me if he maintains at this level for another three years. He has a shot of 100 sacks for his career. As a sidenote: Olivier Vernon may move into the Top 10 sack leaders for Miami this season too, which shows you how pathetic that list is after the first four or five names.

I'd love to see a .gif from Training Day where Denzel Washington is going off about being Godzilla and King Kong, that pretty much describes the Kraken. Other thing is, he has learned that there are times when you set a offensive linemen up for a move later in the game when the game is on the line..Aaron Rodgers got very lucky.
Keep in mind that sacks were not an official stat until 1982. Bill Stanfill (1969-1976): Bill Stanfill was a force to be reckoned with as a pass rusher in the early 70’s. The NFL didn’t start keeping track of sacks as an official stat until 1982, but Stanfill’s unofficial team records were more than enough to qualify him for induction into the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll in 2010. He unofficially has the team record for sacks by a rookie with eight, he is actually tied with Jason Taylor (unofficially of course) for most sacks in a season with 18.5 in 1973, and he sits at second on the franchise’s all-time sacks list with 67.5 unofficial quarterback takedowns. Bill Stanfill was selected to four Pro Bowls and was named an All-Pro twice. Vern Den Herder (1971-1982): The unofficial sack leader on the league’s only perfect team, Vern Den Herder combined with Stanfill to form one of the NFL’s fiercest pass rushing duos. Vern Den Herder owns some of the most memorable sack performances in team history. He totaled four sacks on two separate occasions and unofficially shares the franchise record for sacks in a game (5) with his counterpart Bill Stanfill. He ranks fourth on the Dolphins’ all-time sack list with 64.5.
