Love Lazor.. especially when I read things like this:

He is earning his paycheck and making life easier for his QB.

Now, that's what I call Covering Pro Football. No bull**** about who's maybe saying something based on some bull**** "source" and mindless speculation. No ****ing bull**** agendas (I'm looking at you Omando SalKelly and ESPN)

Just straight up breakdown of between-the-lines-Dongage in its purest form.

It means place your mouse pointer over the left side of the image and move it to the right for the play to progress at the speed you move the mouse pointer to the right over the image.

As you move the mouse towards the right over the image you can see the progress bar of the "video" move to the right with it and vice versa.

    Thoroughly enjoyed that one!

Miami is finally getting some respect. I like it, and I certainly hope they can keep it up. For THIS TEAM, I believe the "Keep your head down and work hard" Philbin mentality works. It did not before, but he was green, and there were some other issues. Yes, there was certainly a learning curve, but I think he is becoming a better manager of his players and personnel. Nothing fancy, just work. Which is fine by me.

I think by allowing his coordinators to do their thing, he is, in return, reaping the rewards. So Miami won one at home against a tough opponent. Let's see how they fair against another tough one on the road.

I honestly would not be utterly disappointed if Miami loses, as long as the progress made in the last several weeks is not lost. Detroit is a gritty one.

IF they do lose, I will be highly curious as to how the team as a whole responds.

If this "keep your head down" thing is the real deal, the NFL could be put on notice after 4pm EST on Sunday.....

That's terrific. Awesome. Lazor is going to be the Jets head coach in 5 months. It will be better than when Scott Linehan left a promising Coach Saban after 1 season. :pity:

Why say this? It's like saying we are all going to die. It's true, but we don't want to hear it. lol. Seriously though, what will it take to keep Lazor here? We should at least give him a raise asap. I don't know his contract details, I just know I dread the day he gets offered a HC job somewhere else. I would hope that teams want to see a bigger body of work from him before offering a head coach job, but the fact is he has to be a hot commodity.

Yeah, it was mostly a joke, mixed with the inevitable. But hopefully the inevitable is a few years down the road. Hopefully other candidates seem like safer hires, and hopefully Lazor takes an "unfinished business" mentality. And when he does leave the OC position, hopefully we find his clone. We should probably be grooming that person underneath him right now.

That was very good - so was the Mayock breakdown of the D in the lower video.

There are several factors contributing to the offense and RT's success (including his own maturity) but two that really have stuck out:

    1) the OL play - there simply weren't many pockets last year as there are this year. And, their opening up the running game has helped also.

    2) the running calls for RT. I actually think the run option has helped his pocket presence. If you are only throwing the ball or only told to stay in the pocket, it is more difficult to develop run instincts. But, with his running, I think that loosens him up - it gets him used to moving more physically having to dodge players in the open field. And, I think that has contributed to his feel in the pocket. It takes away his pocket stiffness that was very evident last year.

Lazor has done a fantastic job here.

Just hope we are able to win at least five more. 10-6 is where I think we'll need to be to get into the playoffs.

Thanks for the link! I'll have to read/watch this at home, but Bucky Brooks is one of my favorites out there. He's always has great insight and analysis.

3.) Marino working with Ryan has helped him quite a bit as well. He had nothing but good things to say on the show with Joe Rose.

    Well away from here
This is a serious opportunity for the team in the next 8 days. You do have a legit shot at winning these two games if we continue to play at the level we have for the last five weeks. I can guarantee that our opposition is not smiling looking at our film the last few weeks. We are right on the cusp of being a dangerous team.

I say right one the cusp as we have been here before, looking good only to see us **** the bed immediately afterwards. However, I do get the sense that there is a different swagger with this team this year. I don't know why I say that as I have no inside info on the subject, but there is just something about their play lately. It appears we have a healthy arrogance about us at the moment. This team believes they are good, however they do not appear to be taking for granted. There are reasons for this obviously, should it indeed be real. Some may be due to the changes within the coaching staff that have put players in better positions, some of it is having better players at certain positions, but I think some of it derives from the maturation of Ryan Tannehill.

I have the feeling this team has finally bought into him - fully. They can see it in him now, that potential that only saw the light in bits and pieces is beginning to show through on a more frequent basis. I have to give credit to Steve Tasker for making a very astute comment the other week. He said that Tannehill is a bit streaky, but that he had noticed that these streaks have become longer and more frequent. He hit the nail on the head with that comment. There are more and more instances in games where he just strings passes together; 4 in a row, 6,7,8 in a row a various points through the game. Streaks like that lead to points, continuity and confidence both within Tannehill himself but also everyone around him.

This positive trend needs to continue obviously, but I think it will, too many things are happening for Ryan with ease now for it not to. If it does continue, you can bet no one on our schedule will be looking to play us, opponents will genuinely fear playing us. Which would be a nice thing to experience after what this fan base has been through the last decade.
