Such a humble cat...A tru blood thru and thru..and he's all ours..and 23 years old. ''Juice the truth'' your daily jarvis landry nug.
Yeah, Vernon doesn't seem to be as outspoken. I still love what the Dolphins do for media productions. I don't think fans realize that it's probably among the best in pro sports. They do an excellent job with their storytelling.
I still say they took a lot of notes when HardKnocks came through. There was an appreciable difference in their video & post work before and after.
I agree. That and I think Jesse Agler did a really nice job of starting and building up the Finsiders programming.
I've seen a few other teams do the mic'd up videos...just not as good. I know Cincinnati's about as low-budget as it gets, granted the media coverage locally is much less in terms of scale than Miami, but honestly, the only thing I can think of that they do is a weekly radio show, similar to the Finsiders simulcast deal, but it's only one night a week. One of their beat writers, Joe Reedy, and their radio color commentator, Dave Lapham (former player) are VERY plugged in though. Like more than Barry Jackson plugged in.
Yeah, having a budget helps. Those player mics aren't cheap and getting a good camera that can shoot at least 60 progressive frames per second with a good image quality is pricey. I spent 5 grand on a camera body because of its image quality but it can't do that sweet slow motion stuff because the highest frame rate is 60i... Most stuff I shoot is 24p but you get the picture of how much a budget really matters. I'm guessing the Dolphins have poured tens of thousands of dollars into their equipment... Not including studio equipment for stuff like Finsiders.
I'm sure they had plenty of talent before HBO came along that wasn't being fully utilized. I have no doubt they learned plenty from HBO but let's not act like they were amateurs before HBO came along.
I wonder if Wake's speech about having somebody who sacrificed to help them get there was in reference to Philbin's Dad.
Wake put the fear of God in McKoy on that last sack, as that was the last time he tried to score with a whole quarter left. Have never seen anything like it.
Edit: Ignore my stupid post. I asked if they mic'd up Jared Odrick and Cortland Finnegan. And then I googled it. Yes, they have.
In the spirit of couple weeks ago when Wake got a strip/sack after OV mentioned it: Olivier Vernon: "Good catch, Landry. All you need now is a TD and some great returns" Olivier Vernon: "Good throw, Tannehill. All you need now is three TDs and a 70% completion and 50 yds rushing" Olivier Vernon: "Good catch, Clay. All you need now is a a TD grab" Oliver Vernon: "Good cover, Grimes. All you need now is a couple picks and a near-pick six" Olivier Vernon: "Good cover, Jones. All you need now is a pick" Olivier Vernon: "Good rushing effort, Miller. All you need now is a TD" Olivier Vernon: "We're doing good guys. All we need now is a shutout" I wish OV would talk more...
12/28 Dolphins vs. Jets Olivier Vernon: "Mighty large dong you got there, Wake. It'd be a real shame if you took out that entire first row of Jets fans with that thing..."
Memo to the Dolphins Producers, never ever do a Olivier Vernon mute´d up again....lol, i want to see a Landry or Tannehill Mic´d up
Disagree, I enjoy hearing all players mic'd up. I kind of wish they'd mic two or three of our players a week though! How awesome would that be?
