so does every qb, but he is very good at finding another platform when he needs to, very underrated part of his game obviously from some of the comments I've heard this week..Hes not an easy target back there lets put it that way, not at all.
I just don't see them running on is and I think we can force Stafford into bad throws. We are 2nd in takeaways. I guess its all on, like always, tannehill. He seems to really have command of the offense now. I also don't think Detroit's defense is as good as the stats say. Their 2 great players, suh and levy are aggressive and our offense feeds off of that. If we can force a safety up by either running the ball or using the screen game, we win
Well, he's over 60 % completion percentage, and has thrown 7 picks...could you explain more? Does he take chances?
The two great things we have going for us is two of our players can eliminate what your saying we need to do.. Reshad and Jelani are very fast players and both great tacklers in the open field..their both great athletes with great speed for their respected positions, the flats on screens, spying on the backs in route is now our specialty..
We're playing a good team, after their bye week, on the road (across country). Winning is going to be hard enough, never mind a blowout.
Just checking in to say with the way the phins have been playing, it feels like christmas eve tonight. Cant wait for the game tomorrow. Enjoy the game!
its typical in here, we win 3 in a row and are world champs, if we will lose another game everything is in question again, its as hyperbole in here as it gets during winning streaks
Hi , Lions fan here . I have been reading your Forum this week , I usually never register or post. Blowouts have been uncommon in the NFL till this year . Id be shocked if Any team blows us out - Good luck Sunday .
unfortunately i see us losing this game. i give us only a 25% chance of winning. their defense should shut down our passing game and force us to run. really bad week to have miller banged up. our defense should be able to completely shut their running game down and do a pretty good job of stopping their passing game. so what i see is a field position game. unfortunately, this is where i think we lose the game. i think they will be able to return our kicks aandd punts for really good gains where we wont. over the course of a game that's probably worth a touchdown or so. i also wouldnt be surprised if they run one back for a td. plus our kicker sucks. lions probably win 14-7. hopefully i'm completely wrong on this and i'll be rooting for the upset
If this is a field position game, then turnovers are going to count for a lot. Stafford is a younger Cutler. Get him happy footed and throwing off his back foot (which isn't hard for either QB) and he'll be inaccurate and possibly turn it over a bunch. Gotta get to them though... I'm not too concerned about Miller tbh. I don't think having Miller 100% healthy would change the dynamic of the game much. I wouldn't expect drastically different results given how good Detroit's run D is. I feel like this is a make or break it moment for Tannehill more than anything. Can he carry the team offensively, on the road, in a hostile environment, against a division leader? It's asking a lot for a 4 TD, 300 yard type performance, but I don't think it's wrong to expect an efficient performance from a would be franchise QB. The last two good D's he faced (KC and Buffalo) we didn't fair so well... Another no show would look bad for him. I'm torn this week. Detroit should win @ home and after a bye week. But I don't trust Stafford and we shut down Jeffery/Marshall. And unlike Chicago, they don't have a TE (they're all hurt) to attack with. I could easily see them struggling and turning the ball over. I could see us doing the same too. But we probably have a better D. R. Jones has been a huge difference maker since his return. I'm going to go 23-17, Miami. I won't be devastated if we lose though. Like I said, Det. should win... But I need to see Tannehill step up before I become a full fledged believer.
I'm starting to lean the other way. I'm afraid this is the same old Dolphins and we are gonna **** the bed today. We have been in this situation a few times before where we start believing the team has turned the corner only for them to break our hearts. I guess I'll always be like that until they prove different.
With the Dolphins, what usually happens in this situation is you wake up to find that Santa hasn't brought you anything you wanted. Let's hope this team is different and there is a shiny new bike waiting for us after todays game.
If we win I'll be more excited than Travis (if that is even possible) about this team. Definitely not a "told you so" from me, if we lose I'll be too down to post as I do believe this team is different. It really depends on the level of the performance. If we play well and lose there is no disgrace in that and I'll still believe we can make the playoffs. If we pull a Bills/Packers 1st half/Jags 1st half level of performance then I'll believe we are still the same old Dolphins.
Sitting here waiting on another guy so we can leave. He's going to be 30 minutes late and I wanted to leave 30 minutes earlier. So psyched I didn't sleep that well. Go Dolphins!!!
Not for long time seasoned fans..66 here. I know how tough our schedule is and I am hoping we run the table but I known how hard that is.There is just that feeling of we have something special cooking here in Miami..we may be a year out still but I do not think so.We have not had a team playing like this in a very long time so just sit back and enjoy the ride.LET'S GO FINS !!!!
If we play balanced 35/35 we'll be alright. I am always worried about Lazor favoring the pass when we play strong D fronts and then we poop our pants like against the Bills and Chiefs. With us it is simply about consistent balanced playcalling.
That is true and we were right in the chiefs game until bad coaching calls cost us the chance at a victory and the same with the Green Bay game...with the right playcalling and saving our timeouts we could just as easily be 7-1 but I know we have a really good team and I BELIEVE in our players !!!!
While Fauria and Pettigrew are listed as questionable, I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both of them. Ebron is listed as doubtful, so I imagine he won't be playing at all today.
Right - we both have a few big games coming up - next week you guys have Buffalo and the week after that you guys will all be Lions fans when we play the Pats
excellent point. when i was looking at the matchups I blanked on doing a turnover differential. we are pretty even with detroit except for one area. our defense is number 3 or so in forced fumbles whereas there's is ranked around 16. every other area we are pretty much even but if we can get an extra fumble in this game that could negate the field position advantage they should have throughout the game due to special teams. my brain will say detroit 14-10 but my heart will say dolphins 17-14. Go heart
I would love to see the Dolphins go into the Lions den and pull out a win, but I just think the Lions offense will put up enough points to win in a close game. Hope I'm wrong but, Lions 24- Dolphins 21.
