I really do not understand people losing patience this year. It is very clear to me the team is improving. It is clear to me that Coyle has the players he wants. It is clear the defense is better. It is clear that Lazor is a good offensive coordinator. It is clear that Philbin has done a better job as the head coach. It is clear that Hickey has acquired more talent on the roster.

Last year we would have lost this game 27-3. I have suffered through the mediocrity with the rest of you, but I am not down on this team.

That's what I thought every time I saw No. 22 on the field - usually a couple of yards behind Tate or another blue jersey.

I'm not sure I get the misuse of timeouts thing. The whole idea behind a hurry up offense is to rush to the line, use as much time as possible, wear out the defense, not give the defense as much time to strategize. So, you should in a sense use your timeouts to slow down the offense.

But not when you have the lead with little time left.

Gut wrenching loss to say the least and I`m still not over it, even lost sleep over it actually replaying plays in my head over and over and over...BUT, its not Philbins fault we lost this game, not at all. We competed at a high level and played well and even though I`m usually a " win is a win and a loss is a loss, dont sugar coat it" type of fan I sense this team is real close to becoming a top tier team in this league. In years past yesterday would have been a blow out after the way the game started but we hung in there and that shows me team character. We have to take it for what it is the Lions are a good team and we lost a close game on the road. Like someone else mentioned I dont recall anyone overly praising Philbin after any of our 5 wins, but he seems to take the brunt of the criticism after heartbreaking losses. Such is life as an NFL head coach I guess. And Tannehill showed me something in this game also, he showed guts and leadership - something he`s been lacking in the past- by taking a pounding early and hanging in there and competing throughout the game.
Again, this loss stung but I see positives moving forward. On that note thursdays game is huge and quite possibly a season altering game as well.
