Ryan Tannehill has gotten better. If he keeps progressing we will not be looking for a new quarterback.

Not necessarily, if we are 9- 7 and have a new HC.

Maybe, but what does that have to do with the quarterback? There are many ways to lose games while the QB plays well. A new coach isn't going to jettison a blossoming young QB in a league where they're hard to find.

Not immediately, but he'll likely be on a very short leash and will be in his 3rd offense in 3 years.

Wow, nice of Leodis McKelvin to run his Fuggin mouth after coughing up the fumble that cost the hated Bills the game. We absolutely have to beat Buffalo...yesterday was a tough loss with a HUGE loss of Branden Albert...I feel so bad for him and I do hope he has a great healing and can come back as good as ever if he tore his PCL also. Time for BILLY TURNER to get his A$$ in game ready shape and even though Juwan filled in GREAT at LT we really need him at RT against Buffalo and Turner is a LT naturally and played it pretty well. I know it won't happen but I wish he was able to come in and fill in at LT. It is where I wanted him practicing at from the start just in case of the scenario that we find ourselves faced with. Either way Miami let's kick the Bills behind all the way back to Buffalo.LET'S GO FINS !!!!

That's possible. But I don't see a new coach coming in and wanting to just find a new QB when you have one who is getting better.

Ok I saw McKelvin's quote. Said "we're going to go out and beat that ****. Point blank. Period."

Now I'm REALLY pissed. Time to give them some serious payback.

It is a huge game. A loss really puts them in horrible shape for the playoffs. And brings doubts. I already doubt how well this team can be (esp with the injuries).

But, I thought the Pats game last year was the biggest game in years and we screwed it up bad.

Even if we beat the Bills - which is as much of a must win at this point in the season as you can get - they could still screw it up with bad losses later on.

This season Miami has been very good in the 3rd quarter. Their ability to do the supposedly fictional 2nd half adjustments have been really good. Especially on offense.

Now here is the question, can they do the same thing but on a bigger level?

Meaning, this is the second time Miami has played Buffalo. Lazor should have a good idea of what the defense provides. Can he take his ability to improve his playcalling to a new level, with an ability to call a better 2nd game.

Well the first time we played Buffalo our Oline was still gelling. Now here comes the second time around and we've lost our best lineman and leader in Albert. Disappointing. However on the bright side I thought the line stepped up pretty well yesterday in his absence so with a week of prep I am hopeful they will be alright. I think we have the advantage this time around, the offense is better than it was and the defense has been extremely good.

Fact is we have to win this game. If we loose to Buffalo a second time it's over. A loss to Detroit doesn't hurt us too bad but if we follow that up with a loss to Buffalo and have to go to Denver the following week we are in serious trouble.

This game is huge. We basically have room for losses @Den and @NE...and that's it.

KC is gonna cruise to a play off WC. That last spot is a slobber knocker between us and the whole AFC North and Buffalo. This and the Raven game...Must Win!

If we lose this game, there are no playoffs. This game is as must win as the final two games last season. But as I speculated earlier, even more so because last year, we were bringing both HC and QB back. I don't think we bring them back if we don't make the playoffs.

To those thinking RT is a lock because of his potential...I doubt it. That INT yesterday was not an INT a third year QB should be making. The guy wasn't open, and you cannot make that throw. Its not like Staffords, where if the other guy gets it, he is most likely not going anywhere...the INT he threw yesterday could have very well been a pick six. As it was, that lack of scoring opportunity, and the fact that he ONCE AGAIN missed an open Mike Wallace for a TD is why we lost.

I don't think a new HC is going to want to attach his wagon to whether or not the light comes on for RT. I would not. Not at this point. Now he'll be evaluated over the final seven games, and someone far better to decide these things than I will make the decision (thank God). But right now, I see a limited skilled QB with limited development.

I think if the owner and Hickey see enough promise in RT to keep him, you keep Philbin and Lazor too. If not, then let all three go, if we don't make the playoffs.

Bottom line is the offense HAS to play better Thursday night. They can't keep letting these great defensive lines bully them around. Our offense is going to need to do something positive early to know they can succeed. Buffalo has had our number and it's time to change that.

I'm really interested to see how Lazor game plans here. Especially with Albert out and Miller banged up. This is his first chance at playing an opponent a second time and the first time did not go well for his unit.

I agree here. There are other personnel groups that need more attention - WR, DB, O-line (interior), though Miami does need to bring in someone to develop as Matt Moore is a free agent and after that it's...McLeod Bethel-Thompson on the practice squad.

The key is going to be how they help Dallas Thomas, presumably, being at RT with Mario Williams as a matchup. Ja'Wuan James played well at left tackle and was better in pass-pro against Ziggy Ansah than Albert was, surprisingly. But, Dallas Thomas against Mario Williams? I don't like this at all. Williams is on another level than the triumvirate of Jason Jones, George Johnson and Darryl Tapp that Thomas faced yesterday.

Coyle needs to figure out a way to protect Jamar Taylor somehow, i don´t know what will davis has done, but he at least has flashed some on the field, if Finnegan really is dealing with a high ankle sprain he will be gone for some weeks, just look at misi and calvin johnson how much time they have missed each and its even worse for a corner to deal with

thats in the future, we have to deal with what we have now, the last time we needed our depth, jelani jenkins stepped on the scene, is there any corner on the team who might surprise in a good way ? Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, Lowell Rose.....then there are the backup S with Walt Aikens and Jimmy Wilson, its gonna be a challenge and i think our defense will suffer

I would feel better about this game if Albert was playing LT. Yet I still feel the Dolphins defense can control the Bills offense and the Dolphins offense should be able to score enough to pull out a close win in this game.

Watkins and Bills RB Jackson, both played yesterday, but they weren't very productive because of injuries. With only three days of rest before Thursday's game, both of them will probably still be less than 100% healthy and this should be to the benefit of the Dolphins defense.

Marquise Goodwin / Fred Jackson are limited/questionable, Sammy Watkins is has a nicked up groin/probable. If those guys aren't 100%, they won't be able to do much on O.

That would be great, but the reality is, I've seen teams countless times do far better on offense than ever expected. Especially and including the Bills (like last year). The Bills looked good against us with a horrific QB. Because they are the Bills and it's a rival. They seem to step up well against us. Hopefully we can shut them down. But, our losing Finnegan is going to really hurt. I hate the other CBs now that Thomas is gone for the year. Davis and Taylor inspire as much confidence as William Judson did for me.

The greatest concern I have, however, is the Dolphins OL. Losing Albert and having only two days to prepare and not really having great depth ... going to be tough.

More and more I am coming to agree this is a huge game because it keeps us in 2nd in the division and we get an extra few days off. If we lose, we are basically two games behind the Bills (b/c of the head-to-head advantage).

Going to be a brutal night for fans (from a nervousness standpoint).

Ya our injuries are mounting also. RT has a few...throwing shoulder and right ankle...was really hoping to come out of the Detroit game relatively healthy...no such luck. Albert...crushing.

Edit: Last year, he got a shoulder injury in the @Bills game then the next week had a poor game...here's to hoping for better this time around.

If there is an insurmountable problem posed by the Bills' defensive front, our coaching staff should be able to scheme around it. You don't go up nose to nose against the other guy's strength. You meet it with misdirection. I didn't see that happen against Detroit. What they tried was silly, like the botched reverse, and on the next to last offensive possession, which lost us the game, they went with straight dropbacks and a run up into the teeth of the defense. I am not impressed with the Philbin/Lazor combo. We can only hope they learned something last week.

Tale of this season so far, is we've faced/going to face a lot of top 10 defenses over the season. We have to figure out how to beat them, or at least not get pummeled every time. It starts this week.

10/16 games against top 10 sacking defenses
7/16 games against top 10 yardage defenses
7/16 games against top 10 passing defenses
7/16 games against top 10 PFF rated defenses
6/16 games against top 10 PPG defenses
6/16 games against top 10 rushing defenses

There are a few other teams facing the same, including our whole division. It's what it is...we have to get better against those defenses, and I think we're improving, albeit slowly. Lazor has to figure it out eventually...sooner the better.

folks should really read this post, because I think its accurate, and is the main reason why we have struggled early in the games against the bills, lions, and jaguars, all teams with good to very good front lines, and all teams where we kept ryan static..

This game is indeed huge. If we lose it, we aren't making the playoffs, just about guaranteed.
That's what makes me uncomfortable. This has not been a big-game team these last ten years or so. We got our butts kicked big time by the Bills in Buffalo, and that was with our best O lineman in the lineup. Without Albert, I very much expect Tanny to be under constant pressure. Probably a 4-5 sack game, which will also likely mean turnovers.
Our only hope of winning this game is to force Orton into turnovers as well, and to have Tanny ready to run. If I were Lazor, I'd tell him to get to the first checkdown then, if they're not open, just take off. Every passing down. Run all night, who cares? May as well leave it all on the field.

Not sure at all how the OL is going to perform. Hoping James proves a stud even at LT but Smith and Thomas?

Honestly, I'm expecting a loss here. Our OL is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was last year, but it still lacks depth and Albert going out is going to hurt against fronts like the Bills'.
I'll be thoroughly pumped if a mobile Tannehill and genius Lazor can create an potent offense in this game but the bottom line IMO is the OL just isn't good enough yet and the coaches are still not proven fully reliable, especially when it's close and our opponent knows how to press on our weak points.

I'll be screaming my head off if we beat the Bills tomorrow but, honestly, I have an 'L' in the column.
