Bills, and both Jets games for sure. Then two of the remaining games, with the Ravens preferably being one.

Sweep Jets, Beat Bills....Beat Vikings, Ravens. Theres your ten wins.

I think we beat Denver and NE.

Bills, both jets and ravens then vikings are most win games.

If we win these we will most likely earn a playoff spot. Stealing one game from eiter the pats or broncos will pretty much guarentee a spot. However both broncos and Pats games are on the road so could be tough.

While I would love to see the Dolphins win their games against the Patriots and the Broncos, realistically I just don't see it happening.

Since I feel it will take 10 wins to make the playoffs as a wildcard, the remaining five games on their schedule, other than the Broncos and Patriots, are all MUST win games, IMO.

A loss to the Ravens, Bills, Vikings, or either game to the Jets, I just don't see the Dolphins making the playoffs this year.

You are correct. That has been my stance since training camp and while I have stated on numerous occasions that I hope I am wrong, I still feel that this team is a year away from being a playoff team.

I certainly will have no problem coming on here and stating I was wrong about this team if they do make the playoffs. Heck, I have been hoping for the past five years that this team would prove me wrong and maybe this will be the year they do.

I don't see why we look at the Broncos and Patriots and automatically count them as losses. What about we beat the Broncos and Patriots and lose to the Bills and one of the Jets games. I don't think that will happen, but odds are probably close to 50% that we win one of the two NE Den games. But I bet the odds of going 5-2 are only about 30%.

I'm not sure where you get your odds from. I just think looking at the schedule, the two toughest games on the schedule appear to be the away games against the Patriots and Broncos. Since it is the NFL and on any given day one team can rise up to beat another team, the Dolphins obviously have a chance to beat both those teams. Just as they have a chance to win or lose the other five five games on their schedule.

The Dolphins will probably be big underdogs against the Broncos and Patriots and that is why those are the games most people feel the Dolphins are going to have the most difficult time winning.

I assume they will probably be the favorite in the other 5 games and that is why most people feel if they go 5-2 over their last seven games, it is more likely their 5 wins will be against these teams and not against the Broncos and Patriots.

Maybe they can go 7-0 over the remainder of the season and this whole discussion will be irrelevant.

I see us going 3-4 at best the rest of the way. Ravens, Broncos, Bills, and Patriots have the defensive minds smart enough to exploit this high school offense we run.

Agree with CK on any 5 games will do that get us to 10 Ws ....

With that, must beat the NYJs, BUF + BAL .... We 'should not lose to MIN - even if Peterson is back by then ....

I don't think folks are 'writing off' the DEN + NE games .... But those are the ones we could 'afford' to lose and still accomplish the mission ...

We have 3 remaining 'tough' games .... NE, DEN + BUF .... And we must win at least 1 ... We are capable of winning all 3 ...

That is what many on this forum have been saying since I began a member of this forum in 2010 and I have been stating ever since that the Dolphins were merely a mediocre team.

As a fan of the Dolphins since 1966, I always hope I am wrong when I predict the Dolphins won't make the playoffs before a season begins. Yet until they actually end a season with a winning record, it is extremely difficult to have faith in an organization which promises much but has delivers so little over the past five years under the Ross ownership.

If I had to bet my life on the Dolphins making the playoffs this year, I certainly wouldn't take that bet. While I think they have the talent to beat any team in the league, I'm just not convinced they have what it takes to win the close games over the next seven weeks to get a playoff berth as a wildcard.

So as someone objectively looking at their remaining schedule, I happen to feel that they won't win enough games to be a playoff team this year.

As a Dolphin fan for 48 years, I certainly would love to be wrong about this team and I would love to see them make the playoffs.

If those two thoughts seem ridiculous to you, so be it. I can live with that.

It's such a cop out though. If they don't make it you can say "I told you so, I know my football." If they do make it you can say "Yes, I love my team I knew they had it in them!"

Cool, they managed to put a lot of points against teams like San Diego, Oakland, Jacksonville, Chicago - all below average defenses. How many points did they put up against Kansas City, Buffalo, and the Lions, you know, the only good defenses we've faced all season ? For someone that supposedly does his research to handicap you sure don't know what you're talking about.

    1. Only one drive worth noting in the third quarter vs Buffalo that lead to a touchdown. One touchdown all game.
    2. Odrick's fumble at the KC's 20ish to setup a 20 yard drive touchdown. One touchdown all game.
    3. A blocked field goal recovered by Dion Jordan which he moved the ball all the way to inside the 5. One touchdown all game.

Your West Kendall, errrr I mean Miami! Dolphins offense. 3 touchdowns against 3 top defenses. One good drive for a touchdown, two touchdowns setup by Odrick and Dion Jordan! HIGH SCHOOL!

So, you're basically saying all remaining games are must win, except one non-division game?

No MR. Clean I was saying we need to beat the Bills , and split with the jets and beat the Broncos or Ravens in which I think we can match up with Denver but don't think we can beat Baltimore at least I am not sure about that game.

All three are average to below average defense, you can spin it however you want the stats proves otherwise. The three defense we did almost nothing on the scoreboard against are Amongst the best in the NFL.

Just so it is clear. I have never come on this forum and stated, "I told you so" after one of my predictions have come true. But I have come on here numerous times and stated that I was wrong in my assessment of the team, certain players on the team, or members of the coaching staff.

I never stated it was because I," love the team and I knew they had it in them".

Forums like this are there to express how you feel about the team or the entire organization at a given time. Sometimes individuals, (including me), gets things right and many times we get them wrong. I accept that as the reality of expressing your viewpoint prior the the event actually taking place.

My view continues to be that this is not a playoff team in 2014. Yet as a long time Dolphin fan, I continue to hope this team proves me wrong and that they do make the playoffs.

I agree, but with the AFC this year, a 9-7 record probably has zero chance of getting a team a playoff spot. So at least winning 5-7 and getting to 10 wins should at least give them a solid chance at a playoff spot, but not a guaranteed spot as it would most years.

I still BELIEVE !!! By the way, we are also one of the best defenses in the league.I am rooting for us to close out the regular season 7-0. If the coaches call the right plays and players including backups Ball..We can win out !! I don't know why so many seem like we cannot beat the Patriots but we match up well against them !!

It''s two games. Everyone seems to chalk that as two losses but I'm just saying this is the NFL. If we're picked as the underdog by 4 against Denver and 3 at NE, then winning one of the two may be close to 50%.

As someone that understands a locker room mentality, there is only one must-win game on our schedule...the one we play next Sunday. Because if you asked any NFL coach, player, assistant or executive, they'd give you the exact same answer...nothing is guaranteed in the NFL and all you can do is focus on winning your next game.

While I agree that we still need 4 wins to have a chance at the playoffs (and 5 more wins to make it a lock), the only thing we can do is prepare for Denver and show up playing lights-out football. That's why we beat Buffalo last week and it's the only way to have a legitimate chance at the post-season. Because as soon as you start thinking, "Oh, the Jets suck so those are two gimmie wins," your season is over. Because any team can destroy the Dolphins on any given day, and we have to go into each game like we're playing for the Super Bowl.

In other words, we have six games left and all of them are must-win games. It just so happens that the most important one is Denver, because that's who we face next.

I'm nervous about the Jets. Most likely they're looking to play spoiler against us & facing Michael Vick twice is no easy task, we tend to struggle against scrambling quarterbacks.

Not worried about the QB position...worried about their D. Rex usually has a pretty good plan for us (aside from our game at NY last year, 30-7 IIRC).

Well, for any chance whatsoever of the playoffs, we have to beat the jests twice and Vikings, then we HAVE to sneak a win against the pasties, broncos and/or Ravens... I'm not convinced this team is good enough to 'expect' to win 2 against the jests and against the vikes...so you'd have to consider them 'must' wins...
