A presentation on NFLN this upcoming Friday at 9pm EST. From the previews, it looks like he will be talking about the backfield trio of Jim Kiick, Larry Csonka, and Mercury Morris, during the '72 season. It was an interesting dynamic and should be a good piece for those who do not know the history. On another note: I have been seeing more of Don Shula in the media. Makes me wonder how much longer this great coach will be around. He is certainly a guy I could sit and listen to for hours. Such an interesting individual and it will be a sad day when he leaves us.
I too have been thinking of "that day" since I have seen him recently in his mobile wheelchair only and he doesn't seem quite as "sharp" when he has been interviewed. In January he will be 85. God bless him on this Holy Sunday.
Here is a book written by Csonka and Kiick, I read it when I was 12 years old and remember it being pretty good http://www.amazon.com/Always-Run-Larry-Csonka/dp/B000MOM98K
It is getting closer to that time that we will lose great ones like Shula and others of that era. Others have already been lost (Noll, Walsh). It will be very sad for us Dolphin fans to lose him even though he has lived a long life. As a believer I have hope beyond this life but it is still a sad day to lose people of integrity and influence who also brought such great memories and influenced so many in a positive way as Shula did (though I recognize he is certainly not perfect - except one time ).
