Im more concerned about Dallas Thomas than James. Which isn't to say James is a slam dunk at LT. Mario Williams might kill RT17. Then kill Matt Moore.

Exactly. I am far more concerned with Thomas at the RT position than I am with James at the LT position.

James may take a few games to adjust to his new position, but I feel like he is a player the Dolphins can build around for the future. I just don't feel nearly as confident in Thomas. There was a reason he was a backup on this team and it was simply because he wasn't better than the five guys starting in front of him on the offensive line.

I just hope he doesn't get Tannehill seriously injured this week.

If he falls down in front of williams, hes better than Clabo.

Do we know if Sims is playing tomorrow? I'd feel more comfortable if he was helping Thomas block Williams. I guess we could go back to a 6th lineman as well. but if I see THomas getting no help with Williams, besides a useless RB chip blocking, I'm going to lose it.

I'm no O-line guru, but i'm wondering if the culture in place this year on the O-line, with new coach Benton and what Albert brought to the team, will help prevent this situation from deteriorating into a dumpster fire like last year. Hopefully so.

I agree with Clark Kent, I'm WAY more concerned that Dallas Thomas is the RT. Ja'Wuan James actually fared better in pass-pro against Ziggy Ansah this past Sunday than Branden Albert did; I think James is more fluid and athletic than Albert. I think if Ja'Wuan can continue to get stronger, he's going to be a heck of a left tackle.

I'm hoping Miami will utilize Nate Garner as a tackle-eligible to help Dallas Thomas out. They did this several times against Detroit and it seemed to help stem the pass-rush.

This. I actually think this line will be "good enough" to win this game.

My concern here is that James struggled so much against the Lions and that may have coincided with his being forced to play left tackle for 41 of 61 snaps.

I mean, pro football focus grades should be taken with a grain of salt, but they gave him a -7.0 for the Detroit game. That's an AWFUL single-game grade, relative to their normal range for single-game grades. For perspective, we all remember the game Dallas Thomas had in the preseason when he had to face up against Gerald McCoy. That grade was a -10.4. This season Dallas Thomas, bad as he's been, has never gotten a single-game grade worse than -3.6.

If James was terrible because he's not comfortable on the left side that doesn't bode well because tomorrow night he will be facing a defensive end that has 20 sacks in his last 25 games. Jerry Hughes has really come into his own as a pass rusher.

But those bringing up that Dallas Thomas facing Mario Williams is more troubling...I hear ya. You're probably right.

But the fact of the matter is...ON PAPER...it is ALL troubling.

Mike Pouncey has been playing like dog crap at right guard, especially in pass pro. Well now he faces a Marcell Dareus who has 9 sacks in 9 games this year.

Shelley Smith will play left guard against Kyle Williams, who is the 2nd most efficient pass rushing defensive tackle in the NFL right now. (Efficiency = QB Pressures / Pass Rush Snaps).

The thing that I'm theorizing is that with Buffalo being on the ROAD on a short week, that will sap the explosiveness from their pass rush capabilities. They should come off the ball just a little less explosively than usual and that could help our OL keep them at bay long enough for guys like Mike Wallace and Charles Clay to run through their secondary, long enough to get the ball to LaMichael James in space, etc.

Dion Sims is practicing, so I think he'll likely play. I hope they line him up to block all night long.

    Well away from here
Your 2014 Miami Dolphins with an all new offensive line............uh, well its the same crap for the most part except with new faces. We should just draft offensive linemen next year, the whole draft. You should be able to find 2-3 guys that can perform out of 7 picks or so.

Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure James played lt against the Lions better than rt. I feel like our line was doing a pretty good job in the 2nd half.

Yeah, Kyle Williams is who worries me most. He seems to give us the most problems.

Pouncey was bad last week, but, for the most part, it seemed to be mostly in the first half. Suh was killing him, but I remember him laying Suh out later in the game.

Yeah, I've been saying that they have to get the quick passes going. Some screens would be nice and i was thinking LaMichael James could maybe do good in that dept. Pouncey should be good on the move, but this team seems to have an allergy to successfully running screen plays.

I saw the play I believe your referring to, he didn't lay him up, pretty much just fell on him..

He needs to play better, cause his contract will reflect what he is..
