Jokes on them. None of this staff will likely be here next year. Maybe Hickey...

I wish we would send someone deep other than Wallace from time to time. Brian Hartline does a decent job stretching the field and has s filthy double move. Although we don't run comebacks anymore, so that's probably useless.

Not coming out aggressive early, staying conservative in crucial situations, I would think defensive players are the ones that are pissed off..

They gave the offense last week a 4 min drive to close, something that is practiced all the time, the went three and out..

Use the damn skill set to the max and quit babying the dude.

When a good front 7 decides theyre gonna confine the QB to the pocket the only thing you can do is have your QB to make plays, from the pocket.

He has not come out and said it, but I would think he's smart enough to put 2 and 2 together here. In preseason and early in the year the Dolphins tried to throw deep multiple times with little success because it simply is not a strength of the quarterback. After struggling with it, the offense was adapted a bit to capitalize on the quarterback's strengths.

Good, the offense is not really getting it done, there should be unrest.

    Matthews should be unhappy.

Hartline leads our WR corps in total snaps at 528. Matthews has 138.

Hartline has 1 TD. Matthews at 2 and has shown the ability to get open and adlib to help his QB out when in trouble. Matthews 2 TDs are tied with Landry and Clay as well. And he hasn't dropped any TDs. More Matthews, thank you very much.

Everything written above could be explained by the kind of quarterback play present in Miami and Philadelphia.

Matthews needs to be patient. No doubt in my mind his time is coming and he's a big part of our plans moving forward at WR.

At best some college team will give him a shot because of his connection with Chip Kelly, they will think he can bring Oregon/Baylor to their program. But no NFL team will give him a shot.

And unfortunately, we don't have a quarterback that can do that consistently. And trust me, defenses are catching on.

He most certainly can, if he has a REAL pocket...he's shown that plenty this year.

Which drove me crazy on Sunday. How do you not figure out that Tannehill is getting killed on the first series and then you go back out and do it again.
It wasn't till the third series that Lazor made the adjustment and started calling those quick passes. Put that QB in a bad position early.

I agree we don't have size or leaping ability but there's more then one way to do the job.

And trading away Marshall wasn't foolish. It was time. We could have utilized the picks better but he's a guy whose great for fantasy football but he's all about stats IMO.

In defense of that, you stick to your guns and try once more.

I still do not get the slowness of the "in-game" adjustments, though. They seem to make fantastic half-time adjustments on both ends. It seems as if the offense begins quickly, they feed off of that and do well the entire game.

Regardless of the outcome of the season, I do not think anyone wants to play Miami, atm. Yes, they must learn how to win, but this will be a tough team to play moving forward.

Injuries to key players do make a difference. Losing Moreno hurt how the offense runs the ball effectively with two backs. Losing Albert.....we shall see. Even losing Finnegan for the Bills game hurts. Next man up, but man. Can the football gods just give Miami a break??

Human nature to act a certain way around the office when in the back of your mind you know you're a likely candidate for a better position elsewhere. Is all I'm saying.

If the article is to be believed, then Lazor interacts with his guys in a fashion that some of them may no longer find agreeable or even pleasant. Enough so that they would go to the media about the behavior.

If I had to guess, it's Hartline as the main voice. He probably thinks he's a legitimate 1k receiver and wants to blame Lazor for the $15-18 million he's about to lose over the next 3 years, minus whatever peanuts contract is given to a WR who lacks any special ability and currently has the 3rd highest drop percentage among receivers with at least 40 targets. He's just mad that Lazor has him trying to catch the ball while running, something he can't do without both arms free to pump back and forth or whatever because as soon as one or both stop, it's like an automatic kill switch- BZZT, right to the ground.

Balance is the key, involve all 11, play physical. It's time, players are right, Lazor better heed the mandate.

I am not there so I dont know for sure but there are a lot of rumors floating around about Matthews work habits during the week. IF those rumors are true, how do you reward him with PT? If those rumors are true someone needs to sit down with him if they have not already and explain to him he is hurting the team...

Scheming doesn't help when your guys are physically dominated. The Lions DT's (mainly Suh) where collapsing the pocket right up the gut. This meant the DE's could stay at home and protect the edges.

Add in a LB spy as well, Tannehill really had nowhere to run to. What he needed was for his guards and center to hold up and stop letting the pocket collapse. He must have been pressured on around 70% of his dropbacks.

It's almost as if Lazor uses the first drive to test if his ideal gameplan will work. When he finds out that the OL isn't working he then makes adjustments.

I hope he comes out against Buffalo and starts by calling some screens, WR screens or jet sweeps. If he starts by running up the middle for no gain I will not be amused.

We can make all the assumptions we want but the only fact we know is that out Red Zone Offence is in 30th place. We also have been in the Red Zone more than any other team. I am not surprised there is frustration! This to me is all on Lazor lets face it he was more creative in preseason. If he is not allowing Tannehill to audible in the zone then he is getting what he deserves. I am sure the Players are reacting to this, they are well aware of the playbook and the options available to them. It is time for Lazor to put some trust in his players and go for the juggler our season starts tonight!!!!!

Is it just me that finds it strange that the NFL operates a news division that publishes locker room leaks about coaches? NFL Films = good. Reporting leaks about your own members = bad, let espn do that.

I would prefer to open with 6 offensive lineman, and try to play some power football. Let's rough up that defensive line. That will help slow down the pass rush. I doubt they would have game planned for it, so the surprise should jump start the offense.

Never seen anything substantiated about that. Only Sherman's comments about being surprised when Matthews had that 11 catch/2 TD game last season after Gibson went down.

Matthews is the only receiver in Fins history ever had to have 11 catches and 2 TDs in a game. If his practice habits or whatever are a problem, then the coaches need to sit him down one on one and lay it out for him.

He needs to be playing and splitting snaps with Hartline... JMO.

This is a perfect example of people taking a mild insinuation in an article, blowing it up 100-fold, adding their own pre-conceived ideas of who the problems are and then treating it all as fact. What the article actually says is that the mood in the locker room and on the ride home from Detroit is just about right where you'd want it:

Lazor's personality wears on some players. Big deal. I doubt there has every been a coach whose personality and demeanor didn't wear on some players. Certainly guys like Shula and Belichick have. There's not a single word saying that any of the disgruntled ones are even WRs, let along identifying any of them. In terms of the player/Lazor rift, this is the ultimate non-story. The fact that we have had so many red zone appearances and so few TDs is a legitimate issue/story. While there is some blame to go around, I think a fair amount goes to Lazor -- I think his red zone playcalling has generally been pretty weak. And we just haven't been executing on those mostly misguided and/or vanilla plays. Not sure if it is true that Tannehill can't audible and if it is true, I'm not sure what to make of it. On its face, it seems to suggest a lack of confidence (if true), but the statement is "buried" in the article and not substantiated with anythign, so I'm not sure it's true.

If the players executed two more plays in two games - (not that there isn't blame to go round on the coaches - esp on Philbin imo) - the Dolphins would be 7-2, imo. If Clay makes that Catch or if RT throws a heartbeat earlier - we're at least 6-3 (I don't think Detroit scores a TD under that increased pressure); or if we make one play down the stretch (if we don't get fooled on the fake spike and Finnegan keeps the WR in bounds); we're 7-2 and maybe Lazor is viewed as a hard-a** but the team (other than Hartline) is going to be happy.

We're really talking about about two plays by two players and maybe an injury (Alberts) or two (Moreno) different - and this team is steamrolling.

And I think you change those two plays and bring back even Alberts and Miami wins (albeit a close one) on Thursday night.

That's how the NFL is, for the most part.

As it is, this is a killer situation Miami finds itself in

well this crap has to stop maybe we should gut the entire offense and get some guys that want to play instead of *****ing . all the *****ing does is causing us to lose games so I would rather clean house if these guys are going to leak stuff out to the media.

Chambers , Welker , OJ McDuffie , Gadsden , Mark Clayton and Mark Duper and Nat Moore all had a sense of work ethics and they did their jobs this wr corp doesn't come close to having the work ethic.
