Great to see two rookies outperform our original projections. To see James come in and anchor the line, especially with Albert down for the count is awesome. Gotta also love the energy and passion Landry is bringing to this team as well. His demeanor on the sidelines after his fumble was great to watch, and his excitement after the TD and desire to rile up the crowd was amazing.

So glad we finally hit on our first two picks. They may not be the sexiest players in the league, but they sure as hell will be leading this team for many years to come. You need solid youth like this to take it to the next level. Let's hope the rest of the rookies develop and instill even more new energy.

james is the reason why no one should take the likes of mel kiper seriously.

landry just makes plays and just finds a way to get into the endzone. the fumble pissed me off but he made up for it with the touchdown.

I've been on Ja'Wuan James' bandwagon since well before the draft. While others here were suggesting we take Cyrus Kouandjio or Morgan Moses in the 1st, if we went for a OT, it was apparent that neither of them could pass block like James can and I said as much. James has yet to do anything that surprises me.

What's crazy is how fast Landry is becoming a pro bowl type of receiver. It takes a few years for a drafted receiver to live up to their name from college and he is doing it his first year. Just crazy.

Same question. Hope he's healthy. Rather the ball in his hands than Thomas.

The kid is going for the pylon EVERY time he gets the ball. The fumble was bad, but his resilience and confidence showed through.

Well, we actually ran the ball well. We're a tad bit one dimensional with williams, we pretty much only pass when hes in. Miller had an outstanding game and everyones favorite whipping boy looked good too.

I am so proud of both of those guys. Landry is a star in the making and James did such a solid job moving over to LT.

Does anybody else look at Miller and see glimpses of Roger Craig? I was struck by that several times tonight which would be completely awesome.

I help a guy out with his draft pubs, and he wanted me to watch some Tennessee games to get a read on Tiny Richardson. After watching one half of the first game, I told him Tiny wasn't even the best tackle on the Vols' team and it was obvious. I begged him rank James higher in his yearbook before it went to print. I got James moved up a little, but not close to where I wanted him to be.

Craig had a distinct running style where he had really high knee action. I've never seen anyone close to imitating it. Maybe Ricky Waters was closest.

That was my favorite offensive play of the game. I think it really gave the offense a boost of confidence.

Oh absolutely, but tonight on his straight ahead runs he seemed to do that somewhat and that cut against McWhateverhisnameis made me think that as well.

Just watched some Craig clips and I forgot how much power he ran w/. Wow.

What was his supposed "knock" pre-draft? Was it run-blocking?

Ja'Wuan James has certainly made me a believer. I love how steady he is. Great, sound technique and he just always seems to be up to the task.

Players like that are so valuable for a football team. I know that's not a sexy pick at #19 overall, but my goodness that was the best move we made all off-season. Might have saved our season.

I like Landry and want him to do well but you need to pump the breaks on the pro bowl receiver comments... he is no where near a pro bowl WR... hell he is not the best rookie receiver in this class.

so you are saying Wallace looked good?

He was considered a better pass than run blocker, but also since he only played RT at Tennessee, he was considered an RT only by most draft evaluators. RT only linemen are not valued as high as those who can play either side or are pure LTs. I think James as a LT was a big unknown before the draft.

Looking back, and taking everything into account, it looks like a hickey took as good a combination as you could find in the first two rounds.

I don't think that fumble should have been a fumble. While the ball was semi-loose as he fell, it was inconclusive whether or not he pulled it back in before hitting the ground. If they would have called it Miami ball and went to the replay on a challenge, I'm pretty sure we would have kept possession.

It hurt to see him on those sidelines though; he took that one really hard.

Correct...win 4 games, we get in. Win three games, coach gets fired.
