Invaluable part of this defense..does a lot of things to help that go unnoticed. Plus he seems to carry the personality of this defense.
Love Odrick. Really hope we can find a way to resign him. He's a big part of our defense that I dont think gets the credit he deserves. He's turned out to be quite the player for us, I remember so many people spitting fire about drafting him, especially because of his injury history in college, but damn, what a player he's turned into.
Not totally true. http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...hins-game-thread-Week-9&p=2449603#post2449603 He's just not getting the pressures I thought he would throughout the year but he does the little things you don't see on the stat sheet.
I think it's hard to add up exactly and not entirely important to do so, but it's hard to say what the Dolphins did was a bad decision.
Actually I'd suggest the question should be: Odrick, Misi & Reshad Jones vs. Earl Thomas & 5th Round Pick. You can make the argument that Reshad Jones is outplaying Earl Thomas this year on his own. Even with his suspension, he has more sacks, INTs and passes defended on the season. (And his tackles/game is better too.)
Vernon Carey was last 1st round pick to receive a contract extension from Miami. The Dolphins have the opportunity to change that. Pay Odrick.
I don't think you can link the two occurrences together that strongly. It can be both a good decision to draft a player, and a good decision to let that player walk in free agency.
I agree. I have a fantasy that Miami will one day have a front office along the lines of Pittsburgh, Green Bay, and Baltimore. I'd like a general manager who knows how to work the compensation draft system, which means not relying on big ticket free agents every single year. Not only does extending Odrick accomplish that, his play warrants it as well. But it's down right depressing to know it's been a decade since Miami extended a 1st round pick, for whatever reasons.
Speak for yourself. I do my part when it comes to heaping praise on Odie. You could do the same if you like.
Well, we have Hickey now and I think that He get's Odrick signed for us. I really believe that we keep Jared in Miami.
