Dolphins D got "man checked" today with Denver's running game. Miami lost. Bad.

Poor tackling, poor angles of pursuit, and a lack of depth in the secondary were very apparent today.

There is no shame in losing to the Broncos by three points at their house, at a mile altitude, where no one else has beaten them this year, with your team riddled with injuries, after hanging 36 points on them. None. I'm just sorry I didn't take the Dolphins and the seven points. I'd be richer now.

Maybe. You can make a case for either, IMO.

But to anyone blaming Tannehill for this lost, all I gotta say is...

They have to win out, save the Pats game (which I'm not concerned about, I think we sweep them this year, I'm more worried about splitting with the Jests), to have a good shot at making it in. Winning out would be a lock most likely.

They absolutely have to win out. 11-5 is their only shot. 10-6 won't cut it. There are too many teams ahead of them.

No, because he never lost a game. Never lost a must win game. Never lost to a better team. Dude you sound like an idiot.

I don't care what anyone says, stats lie! This so called top defense hasn't made a play when in truly counted all year. Blame the players, blame the coaches, blame both...not a championship caliber D!

We tackled like crap all day. The altitude could have caused fatigue in the 2nd half. The D cost us the Packer game, the Lions game and today's game. It can't close out games. Why did we have such a passive approach all day?? What in the world made us think that would work?? Where was OV?? Wake?? Dion?? Thanks Jimmy Wilson for 3 very costly penalties and a lousy game over all. The pick in the 4th quarter wasn't on Landry. The ball grazed off of one of Denver's D-Linemen's shoulder pad and it changed the trajectory just enough so that it changed where Landry expected it to end up. The Football Gods had to stick it up Miami's a** to kill any hope of a comeback victory. Of course the ball had to pop up into the air right into Denver's hands.

Ryan Tannehill has 6 games above 70% completion this year and 5 games above 100 passer rating, including this game. Without Landry's tip drill, the guy would be +13 in TD:INT (He's +12 at 20:8). He's working with a pretty busted group of receivers honestly. Hartline from 2012 has left the building, Landry is pretty damn good, Wallace is fighting but a skill mismatch with the QB, Gibson has reverted to pre-2013 Gibson, Matthews HAS to have ****ed somebody's wife, and we have no TE. All things considered, Tannehill is doing a damn good job of putting us in position to win games.

Exactly, what a bad break that was and who knows what would've happened if we kept possession on that drive.

We all know what would have happened if Miami scored. The D would have had one minute to win the game and Denver would promptly drive down the field with no timeouts and win it on 4th and 15.

Much like our chances for the playoffs. Lol.

    Kidding.

We have a chance. Anyone know the probability now?

With all the injuries, this team and Ryan Tannehill almost outdueled Peyton Manning. I know, no such thing as moral victories in the NFL, but you have to appreciate the effort. It was closer than I thought it would be.

I'd usually argue with that...but with how the D played, or didn't I should say, you're probably spot on.

Really? They play 3 teams that are ahead of them in the playoff race. Plus kansas city is ahead of them in the wild card and already beat them. 10-6 WILL NOT be enough to get into the playoffs. If you cant see that.

MOD EDIT: Keep the comments on the post and not the poster.

    New here...

Can't understand people blaming Tannehill, he was superb today. Defence was woeful and you knew what was coming one Denver started to get the runs going.

And what has Dan Marino got to do with it? Unless he could make tackles on defence then to me he shouldn't even be being mentioned.

Hate to break it to some of you, but Tannehill is going to have the best qb season in about 20 years including Marino's last 5. Give it a rest. Our d was in position to end the game against 3 top teams and hasn't once came through.

Tannehill is the last person I'd blame today.

Our defense is the only thing that should be blamed. All of them. Did one person step up and make a play? Where was Wake?

Well, it was painful for all of us, but some of us don't really know how to deal with it (obviously, with the flaming, bullsh*t posts and claims scattered all through this thread).

I'm dealing with it just fine myself, since I didn't really expect the win...wanted it BADLY, but didn't have a good feeling going in...and that feeling his been right 4 out of 5 times this year (only wrong on KC).

However, at the beginning of the season when we did our predictions, I had us 10-6 with 6-2 in the last half of the season, with losing to Denver and NE, so as far as I'm concerned, we're still good-to-go.

Caveat: injuries piling up...and piling up...and piling up some more. We're at the point on defense we'll need to start the practice squad. Offense has found a way to work through it, defense needs to.

That said...you damn trolls make it 100x worse than it should be...and since you're obviously going to be here like roaches surviving the apocalypse, I don't have to see it. Look up the definition of the word fan sometimes, and look VERY hard at yourself, and see if you fit it. Here's a hint: you don't.

Cowardice. Good thing the team doesn't agree with all their "fans."

YES!!! and he did,,A LOT. i don't know what games of his you watched but 48-45 losses were quite common.

The problem with this fan base is the faults memories of Dan Marino being perfect. As far as i am concerned the most important QB in this franchises history is actually Bob Griese. Rings don't lie.
