What scares me is, if we win out 11-5 we could still miss the playoffs. It happened to NE in 2008.

If we won out we'd be 9-3 in the AFC. I can't imagine we wouldn't get one of the wild cards with a conference record like that. In 2008 New England beat up on the NFC West but lost more AFC games than we did which is why they got left out. The much more likely scenario is we can't beat NE at Foxborough and end up 10-6 with an 8-4 AFC record. We're losing one wildcard spot to the AFC West runner up because of head to head losses but in the 10-6 scenario we'd have an edge over Baltimore which might or might not matter in the wide open AFC North. Not sure how Cincinnati's tie would factor into everything. The AFC North are all padding their records on crappy NFC South teams which could end up helping us in conference record tiebreakers. I think 10 wins probably gets it done. I'm most worried about the Ravens game at this point. They've had our number and I think we have to have that one because we don't want to be in a position where winning at New England the following weekend is a must.

I am not the least bit scared that if the Dolphins win out and end the regular season 11-5, they will not make the playoffs.

The other teams in the mix for the wildcard spots all have to play one another over the next five weeks. So I think it is highly unlikely either of the wildcard teams in the AFC will win 11 games.

I could see 3 or even 4 teams ending the season with 10 wins and that leading to one or possibly two ten win teams not making the playoffs this year.

I am 100% secure in feeling that if the Dolphins win out and get to 11-5, they will be in the playoffs this year. The problem is I just don't see them beating the Patriots and therefore they could end up with 10 wins and then it because a scarier situation regarding them being a playoff team this year.

The odds are against us at 10-6.
