I dont know about the rest of you but I have seen enough. Time for a new kicker as we hopefully get in to this playoff hunt. Every game, every point needs to count and he just isn't cutting it for me. Your thoughts?

All I know is that I cringe whenever he lines up for a FG kick. Half the time I can't even watch. Sadly enough The distance is completely irrelevant as well

Too late in the game to change kickers isn't it?

Redeemed himself, and then smoked the kickoff when we really needed it, IMO.

Seriously, it's almost the end of the season. Can we realistically get someone better now? I have my doubts.

I don't think we can do any better this late in the season. Can you tell me one kicker available that would be better?

Thats my thinking too. The thing is, he always redeems himself. At least hes resilient. Still, he worries me with his misses. He was the better kicker tonight though.

He certainly has a strong leg. That doesn't hurt. I would like see what he does in a crucial situation with the game on the line with a 50+ yard FG to win the game.

why are you so set on my naming a kicker? I told you anyone will do, preferably with nfl experience & a strong leg. Sturgis is unreliable at this juncture. You don't hold on to kickers hoping the "light comes on."

There really arent a ton of those. There are some teams with FG kickers who can barely get the ball 46 yards through the uprights. Sturgis isnt amazing but we would be a hell of a lot worse if we just cut him and signed "anyone".

Because I think you are unrealistic. There aren't any good kickers available right now that are an upgrade over Sturgis. That's why...

He's costing us precious field position when he can't kick past the endzone. In today's nfl, goodell's nfl where kick returns are being fazed out.

Really? what everyone took from the first half of that game is that the kicker needs to be replaced?

I was thinking, maybe pick up a defender that won't be dragged 8 yards down the field by every friggin running back on the Jets roster!

bad field position tonight? blame philbin for telling them to stay away from kicking it to harvin. That isn't sturgis fault. He did what he was told... The miss wasn't really bad either, or maybe you missed the announcers talking about the wind the whole night.

84% FG kicker going into tonight. 82% currently. Of the 5 FG he's missed, 4 have come from 40+ yards or more. Tonight, he was kicking in a tough stadium too. He's not exactly a ****ty kicker that needs mid season replacing. Bring someone in during the off-season and let him compete. As of right now, he's our K and rightfully so...

Hes not as bad as some make him out to be. Not particularly good by any stretch, but give him a chance to grow into his role. He had an injury in the preseason and is still learning to kick in all these different stadiums/weather situations. The out of bounds kickoff did bother me a bit, though.

why do you post this stuff? kicker in the 1st round, how often has that paid off? smh

Caleb isn't great that's for sure, but he hasn't played bad enough to replace in the 2nd half of the season. We didn't almost lose that game because of Sturgis.
