Last night was encouraging, I'd say. Tough to beat a team like GS without Wade, especially with Curry playing like that...sweet jesus.

I'm wondering if, eventually, we'll see a go-to/stretch lineup of Shabazz-Chalmers-Wade-Deng-Bosh. Is that a 'best 5' situation, perhaps? With the way Chalmers and Wade defend on the perimeter I feel like that could be a really nice small-ball group on both ends. Wonder how Rio's role will/won't change when Wade comes back. Anyways, seems like that lineup could work, but they have to have time to get settled as a unit and such.

 

Not sure if Deng is the best option.

Knicks entering the Jahlil Okafor/Karl Towns sweepstakes. They try, they're just short on talent IMO. I like fisher. I don't care what anyone says, Shumpert is a PG. He was playing excellent when Calderon was out...hitting shots, getting players involved and playing solid d. Maybe most importantly he was playing aggressively on offense which he doesn't do as well off the ball. I wonder if Phil sees him like I do as a Ron Harper type who can be a winning piece in the triangle

 

Was at the game tonight. The Knicks looked totally disjointed. Really chaotic in every aspect.

If Wade can stay healthy, the sky is the limit for the Heat in the Eastern Conference. Against the West? Probably will fall short this year.

They look chaotic because theyre trying to run a complicated offense with poor perimeter options and 0 bigs worth starting. The triangle doesnt work well when you have terrible post options (Dalembert) or players with a zero IQ (Amare). The one perimeter option they do have, THJr hasnt really gotten the hang of the triangle at all.

I dont think the Heat see the ECF's but I wouldnt be upset if they beat the Cavs just cause I dislike LeFail THAT much.

 

Only way I don't see Miami in the ECF is if Cleveland gets their crap together and we run into them early.

Keep in mind that Wade has missed a lot of time and we are working with a lot of young players like Napier and Ennis who need time to acclimate. As well as feeling out our rotations.

There is no way we get bounced by Toronto or Washington.

You're sleeping on Toronto IMO. That's a tough team that makes timely shots and has a few good ball handlers in Lowry and Vasquez. They can play small (derozan as a 3) or big.

One thing I hate to say about Cleveland is that people forget about miamis first 20 or so games their first year together. They were what 11-9/10-10? That said, **** Lebron and I'd still rather see the Heat in the ECF then Lebron.

 

Said this a few weeks ago...Can't remember an NBA season with this many 'schedule losses,' where one team is at a clear disadvantage. It's almost every night there's someone in a bad scheduling situation. I don't know. Maybe fans like having this many games packed into the stretch of the season...but to me it's a bit much and you end up with some lopsided matchups.

 

They were 12-8 after 20 games then. They were also top 3 in Off. and Def. Eff.. Cleveland looks NOTHING like that team did then. And obviously NOBODY forgets about the Heat's first 20 games then because they love bringing that up to defend the Cavs this year. They do forget the actual details though.

Our first 20 or so games together really weren't like this though. We had one small losing streak and the rest of the season was fine. There were never terrible defensive or chemistry issues. No sulking, no players acting bigger than the coach. So forth.

I think Cleveland will get better but Im not sure how much, as in I think they will be a top 3-4 seed but Im not sure they make the finals.

Last I checked...Home Teams cover like 65% of the time and the team that Hosts the B2B while not playing in a B2B themselves had a ridiculous win% as of last year at around 72% as well.

These are just estimates, but the numbers are accurate as of early last season.

Kevin Love was just on Mike & Mike saying he's in Cleveland long term and if he could end the speculation right now, he would.

Obviously, things can change. But seems safe to say the reports that he's just dying to leave Cleveland and join the Lakers and renowned teammate of the year Kobe are a bit off.

 

The alternative is for him to say: "I hate it here, and I'm going elsewhere at seasons end."

I would ignore everything he says and wait to see him sign his name on a contract.

 

Pretty much every other guy in this situation says "We'll see what happens in the offseason. I have to do what's best for me and my family."

So him specifically saying he's going to be here long term and he wants to end the speculation isn't just standard fodder.

But I guess that is less fun than saying he's leaving an extra year of guaranteed money to go play for the crappy Lakers, so he's probably leaving.
