is this a Seinfeld line? What's with the Dolphins? Are they fish or are they mammal? What kind of mammal can't breath outside the water? If they are so smart, how come they have a hole in their head? What's with peanuts on Southwest Airlines? They give them to you at the end of the flight. As you are about to land. And after they've put their drink cart away. Don't they realize these peanuts are making me thirsty? What's with Uber? Are we in Germany? I don't see an autobon.
I kind of like it the way it is. There's little wrong with the current system IMO. It ends quick but it's probably the best rest way to do it unless you talk about increasing it to ten bids which I liked better. You decide like in real life who really helps you and gives you a chance to go in and get some bargains. Like in real life a player may not get as much interest as they thought the ten bid system gave you a chance to go after higher bid players as well as a few lesser known ones as well
I came up with a self tiering process essentially based around people nominating and such. I think it's the best solution/idea as of now.
I like how it was last year because it forced people to prioritize. Allowed me to score Earl Mitchell cheap because I made him a day 1 priority when others saw him as much less.
Hell is it sad with the way the Dolphins are playing that I've already narrowed down my list of teams? ;p
I'm game for that. Deal with the hand your dealt. But with that you got to watch out for any new cap tightening rules or you'll end up seeing some bailers with tight caps.
I think people who are unhappy would quit. I like how we had it. I just tried to call the Jets because noone ever wants them and I'd like the challenge.
I will be returning to run the GML here. Mach will not be involved as he looks to work out some IRL stuff. Van, keep your stinkin' money... however if you want to put it towards a grand prize (it's your money, you can decide what to do with it), I won't have any problem with that.
Yes, it's true... Mat (GIK) has graciously accepted the task of running it this year. I'll be around to help out as much as I can as will Boik. First recommendation I'll make to Mat is that we hold off starting the league too soon. I think we started it too early last year and made for some lulls. Of course, free agency can be stretched out if needed to account for that. But I do like FA starting before the NFL version. So very hard to counter balance the two.
Not for a while... if anyone has any new/improved ideas for 2015 though, now is the time to make them known.
I agree with pushing back the actual start date, but think knowing what team you have is a great benefit to those who take the time to dissect the roster. Certainly interested in doing ANYTHING to improve the FA regimen.
I say we close the forum to the public, attach the final rosters to the main and club WITHOUT the owner of the teams name. Let the public vote on strictly the body of work without the favoritism. Only then will we truly know who people feel did the best job.
Hmmm me thinks this is backlash for my social engineering win for last year (Hell I'll say it....I didn't deserve the win last year....but I'll sure take it lol).
When IIIIIIIII was the Dolphins, I added LeSean McCoy, traded Jake Long at the right time, picked up Polomalu and then went on to draft Robert Quinn...you want me Gm'ng this team, you NEED me Gm'ng this team.
I'm thinking this year I'm aiming for a slightly more respectable team then taking on the complete re-builds I have the past couple years. I'm leaning towards K.C. right now. (Dibs!) ;p
I sorta bailed near the end last year due to some personal stuff....but I want back in...please. I think maybe a bit more time between the time teams are handed out and when we start would be good....some people tend to take a long time to get their pages up. Not sure the time would actually help though. Any thoughts on dead money when cutting players?
