Just saw the Sting portion of the PPV and even though I knew he was coming out when the Music Hit, I popped big time. Only thing Missing was the Bat but WWE probaly doesn't want that as part of shtick. also it made SDD look awesome with the way HHH sold it. Surprised this wasn't expanded more on raw Monday.

I read what was put in the article and some things were not surprising at all like HHH didn't like him. But I want to listen to the podcast before I say More.

There are some doozies in the podcast. I will say that some of it comes off as sour grapes. I threw a quick message to a friend of mine who is still employed at WWE to see of that person can shed some light on some of the accusations. So far, no response, but it is a holiday.

My guess is we don't so Punk back in WWE...ever.

Stone Cold will have Vince McMahon on his podcast after RAW tonight...and it will be a live Podcast on WWE Network.

As for CM Punk, I found the podcast very interesting. Makes the WWE look bad, Ryback look worse and confirms what we all thought about Vince (Snake Oil salesman) and HHH (Petty and vindictive)

Worst of all, it makes Vince look VERY out of touch.

Punk doesn't come off well in it either. He seems a bit delusional and like Samphin said a bit of sour grapes mixed it too. Although I do agree with some of what he said, especially about Triple H in 2011 and how Triple H beat him, made no sense at the time and still doesn't.

It's probably for the best that everyone just moves on now for good.

Listened to maybe 45 minutes of the Austin/Vince podcast before tapping out. Great to get Vince to sit down and talk even if he didn't really say anything juicy. He did say that Macho Man would be in the HOF, he doesn't know when but he'll be in. Says Sting will appear from time to time, thinks he'll be at WM. Apologized to Punk about the lack of communication when Punk left/quit, said never say never to Punk returning as guys like Hogan, Warrior, and even Austin have come back after leaving on bad terms. Said he's happy with the Network and the content of it, thinks its the future of TV etc. Didn't have much to say about Cesaro, said he's missing something but doesn't know what it is. Said Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns and Wyatt are hungry and want to be the best and the WWE really hasn't had anyone like that since John Cena.

Anyway I'm sure there are better recaps on the web then this one and like I said I haven't watched the rest of it, which is about 20 minutes. I wouldn't say it's a must listen but definitely something that the Network should be doing more of.

I thought it was a pretty good podcast with Vince and Stone Cold. He answered the Punk questions straight up.

Yeah you figured he had to address them or Austin wouldn't have been doing his job and if Vince ignored them it would have been a bigger PR hit. Vince gave good answers back to really everything Austin asked, he didn't seem to be dodging anything.

11. Samphin

Meh. It was two friends working with each other. The questions were obviously pre-arranged, agreed upon and were designed to make Austin look like he was grilling Vince, when in reality, he only asked what Vince wanted him to ask. Like Ray said, nothing too juicy, although I did enjoy hearing McMahon talk about the business side of it. Learning of Austin's fine and why he had to fine him, to help prevent others from doing the same at the drop of a hat. Learning that the local territorial promoters never really re-invested in their business and thus, were basically compliant with Vince coming through and taking over. Even the bit about Bill Watts fighting back and Vince wanting no part of it, was interesting.

What I don't buy is the Cesaro stuff, and Austin let him off easy, as the basic follow up question to Vince saying that he isn't connecting, would be to ask why they forced him to stop doing the big swing which was getting over HUGE, prior to them putting an end to it. That alone, stunted Cesaro's growth as a performer, in my opinion.

Also, and I think Austin was starting to go down this path before Vince pivoted, and ultimately bullied Austin into "challenging the locker room to take chances," but he never asked Vince why everything is scripted, including the promos. How can anyone take chances without being allowed the freedom to do so? The Austin 3:16 catch phrase, for example, was organically thought of by Austin at King Of The Ring without the benefit of a writer, and it pretty much catapulted the Austin character into what it became. Another example is Zack Ryder, who I dislike, but legit got over by taking a chance and was basically punished for it.

It was also interesting to hear Vince's take on the lack of communication from talent relations when it comes to CM Punk, considering that is HHH/Stephanie's role within the company (HHH specifically). Seemed like a shot at them, as much as it was Punk.

It could have been better, but I enjoyed it and agree with Finkle who said they should be doing more of these in the future. Basically, the the RF Shoot Videos concept and bring it to the network.

Watching old WCW Monday Nitro episodes on YouTube is the best. Occasionally I'll watch an episode of Monday Night Raw & TNA

agreed sam......Vince basically calls out the current "melinial" locker room as not having the balls to step up to the plate and demand greatness.....yet in almost the same breath mentions how times are different and things are ran differently with contracts, creative etc....he's ****ing delusional...

"I listen to the people"......oh okay...well until the entire crowd **** on Batista winning the Rumble you still planned on Bryan Vs Shameus for some ****ing reason.....with another scoop of Batista/Orton at WM....wow. Thank god Punk left and the crowd absolutely demolished Batista as a face....or else it would've been horrendous WM.

I love how he has pushed shield and wyatts since their debut....and he happens to mention them as hungry like cena....lmao....wow....way to stick your neck out there Vinny Mac. He mentioned Shane having a company in Japan.....yea.....Shanes company is based out of China. Dude needs to wrap it up, give it over to HHH, get rid of Dunn....

Also one more thing....he says Cesaro isnt connecting with the crowd....**** YOU VINCE!!!!!!

This is 80k going ballistic for him literally just after he went single:

And if you watch his matches with Orton, Cena, Bryan leading up to WM....he is incredible, over with the crowd like a mofo, and an amazing in-ring worker. Vince is an idiot.

Yeah that's the problem with the WWE they want you to stand up for yourself and when you do you get punished. They want you to take the ball on your own and run with it and when you do they punish you. They want you to work hard and when you do they tell you to lighten up and slow down. They want you to get over until they don't. They want you to be a company man and do everything they say and when you do they knock you for it because you don't have the balls or fire to say no.

Again, not to beat a dead horse, but like Samphin mentioned Zack Ryder is THE perfect example of how the WWE is run. The guy is a jobber who hasn't been on TV for months and knows its only a matter of time before he gets cut so he says to himself, "hey if I'm going to get canned I might as well try to get myself over" and the guy is one of the first, if not the first WWE superstar to hit 1 million followers on Twitter, he legit pushes the WWE to get into Twitter and YouTube channel. Fans are going nuts for him, his merch is selling very well and what happens? Vince and company wake up one day and realize Ryder did it all on his own with little help from them so the bury the guy. Not saying he could have been the next Cena but why not run with him and see what will happen Instead they keep pushing the same guys down fans throats and wonder why no one cares. Funny how Vince forgets Cena was nothing and pretty close to being axed himself when he randomly started to rap on the back of a bus during a tour and it got over with everyone so the Smackdown writers decide to dress him up as Vanilla Ice for their Halloween episode and the rest is history.

As far as the Austin/McMahon podcast, I agree with Samphin that watching the rest of it it does seem like Austin lets Vince off light compared to how Austin "bashes" the WWE on his podcast. I do think the time limit they had threw Austin off a bit too, I think he started to make a point about blood and then got side tracked with it because they had to wrap up. So it was a bit disappointing it wasn't a full on "shoot".

And yes 99% of the stuff that comes out of Vince's mouth is pure PR/PC BS. I highly doubt there's a 97% or whatever the number was of people happy with the Network. I love the Network but there's sooooo much more they can be doing with it. Or that the WWE listens to the fans, that was the funniest part of the whole interview.

Yup hence Punk's "he's a millionaire that should be a billionaire" comment. If Vince didn't create/think of it then it's automatically not good. That's why he ruined the WCW and ECW invasion angle, always punished/depushed guys that got famous before they reached the WWF/E, why there will never be a Wargames match etc. Granted it's his company and his money but your point remains.

The WWE doesn't really listen to what the fans want, instead the WWE wants to tell the fans what the fans want.

You'd think with the business being down and the Network underperforming the WWE would try something new and different but instead its "we need John Cena to save the WWE" stuff. And they wonder why fans aren't coming back.

Part 2 of CM Punk's podcast with Colt is up now. I haven't listened to it yet but he's answering fan's questions so it should be interesting.

Also Batista has officially been cast in the new James Bond film which starts production on Monday so yeah doubtful we see Big Dave back anytime soon, if at all.

Punk's second interview was okay. He completely dismisses McMahon's apology, calling it a PR move. Maybe it was, maybe it was sincere, I am not sure. What I can't quite figure out is why Punk was so upset about getting his severance papers SIX MONTHS after WALKING OUT...? Does that rational make any sense? Not unless he was hoping for the WWE to chase him down and beg him to return, and when that didn't happen, he now feels disrespected...again.

His contract was set to expire in July, so again, what does it matter if they let him go a month earlier unless Punk is bitter about it? Furthermore, Punk admits that he refused to return some phone calls, so who knows what might have come from those if he had accepted the call?

Basically, Punk will not allow WWE or Vince to be right, no matter what they do. Not that Vince is perfect, because he isn't, AT ALL. But Punk seems really, really bitter, even close to a year later. Lots of vitriol regarding a ton of people.

Today was the first time that having watched wrastling actually helped me in real life. My 18 month old son cracked my 3 year old daughter with a Xmas snow globe, right where the hairline meets the forehead. So when she proceeded to gush blood all over her face as if she was in a steel cage match, I knew not to panic. I explained to my wife that's an old trick, and a little knick in that area can cause what seems to be profuse bleeding. Now, it was a good wack, so there may be a bruise. But the wound was small, and def didn't need stitches.

Yeah I agree, it seems so strange that he keeps hanging his hat on that. Granted it was totally a petty BS move on the WWE's part but Punk essentially quit the WWE in January, it really shouldn't matter outside of being annoyed that the company was breaking balls on his wedding day.

The medical stuff is a legit beef on his part, no question about it, I'd be pissed at that but the other stuff, just seems like the typical wrestling business that happens to everyone.

I hope he is happy now though moving on from wrestling.

I can't post it at work, but supposedly The Ryback (lol Bryan).....was on a radio show and responded to punk. Supposedly he sounded real down and upset about it. Punk just seems like a little ***** through all of this. Dude needs to toke a joint (straighttt edgeeee) and calm the **** down.

Sting signed a 6 appearance deal with the WWE, and the Survivor Series counted as one of those appearances.

The WWE also has offered Rey Mysterio a big contract in attempt to resign him and word is Mysterio is considering it.

Dana White has already stated that they won't be "throwing the kitchen sink," at him. They will spoon feed him some low level MMA fighters in hopes of generating a buzz if/when Punk beats them. Assuming he does that, they will rush him into a title match, where I presume he will get his lunch, eaten.

The Colt Cabana interviews make mush more sense now, with regards to how much shade he threw at Vince, HHH and the WWE as a whole. Punk had an exit strategy, and held that trump card close. Granted, it may be a short term trump card, but a trump card nonetheless.

The irony of Punk calling Vince a bunch of names, only to sign a contract to work for the biggest slime all in sports though, should not be lost on anyone.

Am I the only one who thinks that its kinda funny that Punk hates the Rock and other Part time wrestlers for coming in and automatically being in the Main events and take spots from other guys and he's kinda doing that here, granted he's not going to be in a main fight, but he's going to be treated like a main eventer. He's going to be the one getting all the attention.

It's ironic but at the same time the reason why The Rock got that main event spot is because at the end of the day he made the WWE more money than anyone else would have in that same spot and at the end of the day CM Punk's first fight is going to make the UFC tons of money as well.

But its also clear Punk is about the money too (nothing wrong with that).

I was just listening to Jim Ross' podcast with Bob Holly and shockly he gets it. He stated that he was never a world champion or main evented a WM but made plenty of money and had fun doing it so he's fine with that as not everyone could be champion. Holly actually gave a really good interview and came off as likeble which shocked me. He knowa his place in wrestling history and is at peace with it.

Yeah I honestly didn't know who was up for the award but as soon as I saw the video package for Reigns during the noms I knew he was going to win. Hey it's funny because we're begging the WWE to make new stars and they're really trying with Reigns but I don't think he's even close to being ready in terms of in ring or promo and I feel like they're going to give him the superman push and it's going to backfire and the WWE will panic and give us 4 straight PPVs of Cena/Orton for the WWE over the summer.

39. Samphin

It should have been Lesnar, with Heyman pontificating profusely about everything Brock accomplished, only to be interrupted by Reigns who states that had he not been injured, that award would be his, and he can't wait to take everything (while looking at Paul) in 2015...Believe THAT!

That way you plant the early seeds for Wrestlemania.

Stupids.

Also, AJ Lee's speech sure sounded like the beginnings of a farewell tour, yeah?

WWE Network has gotten a lot of my attention recently.

-Paul Heyman's two hour biopic is on there now. Lots of good stuff throughout. I really liked the first hour or so that focused on his extremely early work, as I hadn't known he started so young in the industry. The second half is ECW/WWE related, and there are some good nuggets of information (the waiting 90 days to file bankruptcy so the banks couldn't call back the checks he wrote to his wrestlers, for example), but a lot is re-hashed from what we already know. Overall, a good view

-Monday Night Wars is still going on, although it has become tedious at times, due to its constant re-telling of the same basic stories and chopping up and using the same interviews throughout. But you do get some interesting tidbits from time to time. Like how simple it would have been for WCW to keep The Giant from jumping ship to WWE if not for Bischoff's disrespectful nature towards him. Or some of the stuff about Taker and Sting from two episodes ago.

-I would like to see them do some in depth interview shows with various legends, agents, etc., similar to how the RF Shoot Videos go. I understand they probably won't do that, but it would be nice to see from some wrestlers who aren't around anymore and have nothing to gain politically.

-NXT is great
