M.C. - I liked the last girl better! Everybody else: Ed Reed needs to get in the Wayback Machine to play again....
So without knowing what kind of shape he's in, you see no way that one of the smartest and savviest DBs to ever play -- a 9-time Pro Bowler and future 1st ballot HOFer -- who just 2 years ago went to the Pro Bowl and helped his team win the Super Bowl (in which he had an INT), could provide any kind of tangible upgrade to a secondary that has had 3 of its top 4 CBs miss time the last few weeks? Not even a chance that Reed could help?
I loved Reed at the University of Miami and I was hoping the Dolphins would select him in the draft. As an NFL safety, he was one of the best ever to play the position. Unfortuntely like ever player, he got older and his skills diminished. His play in 2013 was below average and now he has been out of the league all this season and obviously isn't in shape to come in and help in the secondary at this time. Reed also has always played safety and the Dolphins need at this time is at cornerback. I would have loved Reed in the Dolphins secondary a few years ago, but today I just don't think he would be an upgrade at all.
Ahhh, Rick, you've hurt Katya's feelings, since she is sitting here beside me, naked, massaging my shoulders and reading the posts along with me. In my dreams
I say check him out..what will it hurt? Maybe it will help Jones and Delmas learn the additional steps they need to take to become elite...and maybe with Jimmy Wilson......maybe..ummmmmm............You never know
True, but let's look at what we know, we have 0 depth at either safety position, we know that Ed reed is interested in playing football...for us...we are in a playoff hunt, I believe we are going to make the playoffs, just based on depth, and working him in on some reps, a rotation, could allow Reshad to play some linebacker reps over Phillip wheeler..Reshad jones can do anything Phillip wheeler can..very strong, very explosive right now, really excellent at tackling..
I'm pretty sure he was referring to the Ravens (his former team) who currently have one of he worst secondaries in the league due to injury
