The last time we allowed 200 rushing yards against us for 2 games in a row was back in 1990. We have never allowed 200 rushing yards against us for 3 straight games. Let's not make history.
Very good point. History is known to repeat itself! Edit: I just realized how dumb I just sounded since we have already lost 5. lol
We could win 12 total if we make the playoffs The 1990 playoffs, actually, are when I transitioned from "kid who follows the Fins" to "teenager obsessed with every thing Miami Dolphins". Very, very exciting wildcard game win against Kansas City. First football game I ever got emotional about. Followed of course with a rotten trip to snowy Buffalo, and the beginning of my hatred of the Bills. Damn team ruined my high school years.
all the talk about the rush defense is overrated..were gonna be just fine imo. if a team has close to 50 attempts in a game their gonna get 200 yards..lol.. no worries mate.. when our defense is hyped, they can play at a high level..I think they will be hyped.
I love your enthusiasm, But to call the talk about our rush defense over rated is wrong. We were gashed for big runs and were dominated by the running game. If we get blocked and miss tackles like the last two games, it will be a long frustrating day on sunday. I hope you are right about the defense being hyped, we need to slow down Forsett. There is no reason Baltimore will not try to the same as Denver and the Jets, especially that they are a good rushing team to begin with.
i remember that like it was yesterday because my dad has always been a die hard Chiefs fan. before that playoff game the last tine we played the chiefs they beat us 42-7. i know this because my dad use to taunt my brother and i saying 42-7! for what seemed like forever, he actually still does it. but when we played them next it was in the playoffs and we beat them 30-10 so i would taunt him with 30-10 in hopes of shutting him up but lije i said he still says 42-10 til this day. is that the gane you're talkung about? i was 7 years old, about to be 8 since i was born in february in 1973, 2 months later we drafted Marino while i was in diapers. lol
1983. forgive all my typos, i am on my phone and i can't see everything i type while i type without it taking forever for me to get the cursor in the right place to fix typos or back to the ebd so i can keep typing. i hate this phone ob this forum. it is a pain in the butt.
1990 was also our best defense of the Olivadotti era. 229 points allowed, which is very good for 16 games.
that is awesome. 14.3 points a game, Marino covered those pounts in his sleep. that's why we won 12 games in the regular season. i wonder if those 229 points were all on our defense. todd taught me a lesson yesterday about the points stats on nfl.com also counts the points that opposing defenses scored.
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/mia/1990.htm According to pro football reference, this stat isn't true. Miami only had one 200 yard rushing game that season. To the Colts.
interesting. show that to the NFL network, what they've been scrolking at the bottom of the screen all day is exactly what i included in the OP
You must be reading it wrong. Dec 2 and Dec 9, Redskins and Eagles, 200+ rushing yards allowed both games.
It's not enthusiasm, I'm just telling you what Ithink, Did you know that besides the three reverses in the beginning of the game the jets rushed for 3.7ypa. I just think the last two games is not a reflection of our talent level..Ravens have outstanding run blocking guards and Forsett is legit..we'll see how it goes.. 52 stack monster..
They're listing Forsett as questionable, but he practiced today, so it seems likely he'll play. Hopefully he may wear down easier.
I think I was crying on every gaping hole and missed tackle and probably cursing too. They better have that **** figured out this week. If we get gashed in the running game again heads got to roll. Starks Odrick and Mitchell better step their game up.
Anderson is 5'8" 224; Ivory is 5'11 210 and Forsett is 5'8 197. Lighter than Anderson but with tired arms, this late in the season, he may be easier to bring down.
Not a whole lot of difference between Forsett and Miller stats wise, other than Forsett has 30 more carries, 280 more yards, and 1 more TD. While Miller has faced 4 straight TOP 10 rushing defenses, Forsett has feasted on the likes of the Bucs, Falcons, Titans, and Saints. PB and Cinci shut him down and walked away with wins. Those same games, Flacco threw 2 TDs and 3 INTs. Ben threw 6 TDs against them in the PB game.
