then don't climb the pocket..must have vision, there were times where ryan had enough time for the outlet pass, wide open as well, but the peripheral vision was not there.

will he be better when he gets an a good line, of course..but it will eventually come down to what he does when the pocket gets compromised, do you feel confident that he can make plays, its year 3?

They very well can win another ring but they are a complete team. What people think here is that QBs win SuperBowls and the other 45 players are just along for the ride.

What I'm saying is that currently he's an excellent scramble/one read and run QB. It works within their current construct but will it work once he gobbles up more the cap, Lynch is gone and their defense drops in ability?

I am very happy with the team, overall direction, the offensive system, the player development process, all that. That is good enough for a 10 year contract for me.

I am not happy with the level of talent at spots and playcalling on offense. Those are improvement issues and those do not rise to the level of firing.

D-Caf he's got learn how to break the pocket, He's got to learn when to run on his own and threaten a defense, and its not easy to learn.

do you not think when a qb takes off and runs its highly impactful on future plays?

see flaccos big run out of his end zone, then ensuing 98 yards td drive..

It can create hesitation on the pass rush and for that very reason the qb should have it in his consciousness.

Do you not find it odd, and that goes for everyone, that ryan does not run from the pocket to pick up yards, or first downs, like at all?

lol..its really quite funny if you ask me how obvious it is yet how I'm the only one talking about it.

the athletic qb doesn't run with the ball past the los unless the read option takes him there.

im not blaming ryan for the whole loss, I'm just critiquing his part of the blame..but when is the last time you saw ryan do what flacco did today, or what luck did today at the 1:08 minute mark of the game, or any other of the dozens of examples of qbs making defenses pay, and giving them one more thing to think about.

I noticed a few plays where it was possible for him to escape the pocket and throw the ball out of bounds, run with the ball, or throw a check down pass.. he looked like he wanted so badly to make things happen down the field and, because of that, he tried to hang in the pocket and ignored the pressure. I know the outcome probably would have not changed if he had done these things, but it still frustrates me.

We have a 31 yrd gain called back, proceed to get a sack and all of a sudden it is something like 3 rd and 34 I believe.

What do we call for a play friends, but a wide receiver screen which picks up 12 yrds.

    Really???????

We gave up on 3rd down - all I needed to see.

    Philbin needs to go

He's had 3 years to fix it....and that means getting decent backups too, when the starters go down.

Sorry bro, Ross only got rid of Ireland this year. Philbin gets a pass for tlent acquisition in '12 and '13. Lazor gets a pass this year for being inexperienced also. (Still, I can criticize him.)

We need 3 years at least of Ireland-free talent acquisitions and training to pass judgment on that part.

One thing we know is, Joe can build a team with a winning system that is fun to watch, he can find and develop a QB. That is more that can be said of majority of coaches in the NFL. Good enough for a 10 year contract.

I never said everyone else was along for the ride. They wouldn't have won without that D, and that's obvious. I'm not so sure they'd have won without Wilson, though. Wilson IS Seattle's offense right now. Today. We like to complain about o-line here. A lot. Seattle's o-line has been a wreck for 2 years running.

Lynch averaged 4.2 ypc last year, just above the league average. This year, he's 16th with a bit over 4.5 ypc. Granted, Seattle's willingness to run the ball is something I'd like to see here (Miller is 7th in the league in YPC with 70 fewer carries than Lynch), but there's not anybody carrying Russell Wilson out there on the offensive side of the ball.

Brady is a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer. The sort of margin of error you constrain yourself to by relinquishing the ability for explosive plays in the passing game he's able to play with successfully on a regular basis. Lesser QBs cannot.

Having read many of your statements on here, I realize that you don't mean anything you say. You merely love to come on here and see how many Dolphin fans you can get to bite on your sarcasm.

I seriously doubt if you even care about the Dolphins. You are probably a fan of one of the Dolphins rivals and love the fact the Dolphins are nothing but a mediocre team, year after year.

Eventually others on this forum will see the truth about you and you will be forced to either own up to your real opinions or just be ignored by the other posters on this forum.

speed is right. Today the rush was on top of him before you would expect a QB to be able to break out and run. There was push from every direction (middle, left and right) consistently. Unless you are calling a designed rollout, Tannehill had no time. I said it to my coworkers when it happened, when we lost B Albert, the domino effect would keep us out of the playoffs. I was absolutely right. Tannehill is not a top 10 QB. So, without even average pass protection, he's not going to win us any games. Hickey is going to be around next season, hate to say it, we probably need another 1st round pick on Oline and hope he can hit the jackpot like he did with J James

I had a stopwatch and replayed a couple of sacks. When he planted, there was defensive contact in under 2 seconds a couple of times.

    Terrible blocking.

We don't have better. That's where we are this year.

Signed Albert, Moreno, Finnegan, big controbutors out with injuries. Even Delmas went out today. Misi was out on a scoring drive to put them up 14-10. Trusnik played heavily.
We are stuck with Wheeler and his Ireland contract. Not to mention Ellerbe.
How about the most expensive WR duo in the NFL, Wallace and Hartline, throw in Gibson too. Where is the beast for this passing offense? It's the rookie Landry.
Got a guy off street starting at CB.

We need roster improvements, no doubt, that does not mean coaches should be fired.

I agree on Coach, disagree on Tanny.

That Pass to Gibson was dropped - solid play on 3rd down.

That escaping the rush and throwing that brilliant deep pass to wallace, that was called back b/c of that nonsnese man downfield

The two TD passes to Wallace the last 2 weeks that were dropped.

    The horrible OL

I believe in Tannehill, but PLEASE SANTA PLEASE BRING ME REX RYAN TO GET IN HERE AND FIRE THIS TEAM UP!!!

    pretty much..

like another poster said, I'm not saying cut him or not give him that option for next year, i am saying my eyes are at least open to qbs in the draft and I will def be looking for one that might have some serious upside in the mid to later rounds, and thats because i don't believe he has proven enough for me not to.

i can't be content with a qb who isn't conscious of some of the things I'm pointing out, until he proves he can do it at this point.

sooo false, such a mischaracterization...such a lack of recognition of the greatness of his game..

with todays results, and his past since entering the game your analysis grows tired Rtl.

I'm with you on Ryan Tannehill. He's not a lock for long-term success but he's more than enough to stay invested in for sure. I like him a heck of a lot more than I dislike him. He's far and away the best chance we've had in 15 years.

I'm not a fan of Philbin in all respects but the grass has been greener for 15 years with Miami and it never works out. I'll take another 3 years of Philbin no questions asked. We've steadily gotten slightly better which isn't dominant but it's a slow trend in the right direction.

More than a new coach, I want to see this team get the experience it needs.

If Philbin can repeat the success we had earlier this year in acquiring talent, we'll get better over the next couple years and be able to fix the obvious flaws we have: OG, DT, OLB, etc.

After all, it's the lack of real talent are crucial positions that are costing us games, not the pregame speeches.

I offer this defense of Philbin only on the basis that this year has seen some obvious growth in our offense. We didn't look great outside of the first quarter today, but overall, the team has had some really impressive weeks this year and it's only year 1 of this new offense.

If the offense looks exactly the same next year, I think I'd be more inclined to agree with you that maybe Philbin isn't the guy.

But this year showed us a lot of positives so as a fan, I'm happy to move forward and look to get better with April's draft.

every qn deals with dropped balls..every offense has penalties, every team bla blah blah..

this offensive performance today was poor because of a conservative nature by our staff imo..

It actually should've been more conservative in the fourth quarter in my opinion. Once the team abandoned the run down 21-13, Dumervil was able to tee off on Thomas, and it was all but over. They needed to keep Baltimore's defensive front honest against the run at that point.

We're you happy with his pathetic attempt on that fade in the endzone? It may not have been a perfect pass, but it was definitely catchable for a receiver who tries. Then again, given how terrible Wallace is at reacting to balls in the air, and how he can't catch with his hands, he probably realized he would drop it anyway, so why even try for it.

did we not run the ball effectively?

you see if ryan was conscious of what I'm asking him to do it would add another threat that could help him when it becomes pocket time..

but there seems to be nothing there in that dept..he literally will not take off on his own past the los..

do you not see a problem with that? think about it for a minute..

how important was flaccos run from his own end zone?

it ignited a 98 yard drive on the road, essentially winning the game and always staying one step ahead of our defense the very next play it happened.

Is this serious?? Wallace haters now want to call passes that are inaccurate drops?? Seems logical.

But in these statements you guys prove my point for me...you guys apologize for any criticism of Ryan to the death, I mean like Gladiator fight for him. But when Wallace (who frankly was a b*tch that play) doesn't dive for a ball, you guys attack him like he was in bed with your wives.

And now to continue with the making of bs up, that poorly executed play by both Ryan and Mike with good protection I might add...is all on Wallace. I love my special friends here in the mains at thephins.
