I would've like to have seen that last year since FSU's defense was better than this year's and Winston had Kelvin Benjamin to throw it deep to. I still think it'd be a good game but I'd have to agree with you though it pains me to di so as a Noles fan. They're just not kicking everyone's *** this year, theyre a 2nd half team.
If the Jets get Jim Harbaugh as is now being rumored...at that point, I'm scared of Marcus Mariota ending up a Jet. And it would happen, if they hire Harbaugh.
It will be their strongest opponent of the season, I think i mentioned that. But it wont hurt his stock, Tampa Bay will not pass on drafting their in state prospect. A low market team, with Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, perfect fit for Winston.
Last year in my opinion Alabama was the #2 team but they blew it I guess. That would have been a great matchup last year.
winston has plenty of weapons to throw to this year.relative to mariota lots of nfl prospects on the team.
Yes, really? I believe you said that last year about FSU losing by double digits to Auburn did'nt you? Well we will see...All Canes fans don't look at them the same as you do..I have been a huge Cane fan since 1975 and you? Most of us Cane fans have always had friendly rivalry with FSU and we always both hated Fl. Games have always been clean. Alex how about ACC 5-0 against SEC yesterday? I guess since FSU beat our Canes that you are the type to trash them with double digit loss talk. GTFO...LOL
Man, when did the rumors start about Harbaugh to the Jets CK? I thought that he was not interested in leaving the west Coast...is he not interested in talking to Ross about the job again? F#@& Woody Johnson and the plane he flew in on...to hell with Harbaugh if he wants to be a jet !!!
Seeing as they have Carr, I think they'll wind up trading down with whichever team falls in love with Winston/Mariota.
Several quarterbacks just seem to be getting better as the season wears on. Marcus Mariota is one of them. He's winning me over.
Oregon vs. FSU.....damn. As a fan I'm looking forward to that one. I realize it doesn't really mean that much for either Qb to "beat the other Qb" long term but it is an interesting matchup of teams. Really Winston hasn't played a team anywhere near this good all year so that will be a big test. Great game, looking forward to it. TCU and Baylor got screwed but I think the committee penalized them for not playing in a conference championship game and honestly I think thats fair.
No way as teams are weary of Winston over his issues. They not just look at players with great playing ability. But also character issue.
Game on, I hope the ducks wipe their *** with the Seminoles, just a pure rooting interest for that dude to lose, maybe get a dose of humility, if he acts like he did last year pre championship game, I really hope they kick his ***.. Mariota..a humble man..Winston..an immature child.
Keep dreaming dj... oregon appears fast because of the conference theyre in. FSU plays against that kinda speed and has that speed as well, while holding a 40 lb advantage over Oregon. Theyre bigger and just as fast as Oregon. This is the easiest game to read, FSU rolls them over. You tell me how theyre going to grow in height and weight (40 lbs) in three weeks... This is no contest just like Alabama vs Notte Dame was no contest. Youre about to witness a FSU team you havent seen since last year.
Lock it down at +285 before Vegas comes to their senses. Don't even bother with the spread. Just take the ML. They win by 3 touchdowns minimum.
winston is going to have all day to throw. His offensive line averages 330lbs or higher. But the biggest advantage they have is on their defensive line especially if they switch to 3-4 moving Edwards to OLB and starting Nnandi at NT. That right there would be the biggest and most athletic front 4 Oregon has faced since their game against Stanford last year, which they lost.
Just because Florida State's offensive line are bigger doesn't mean they'll protect well. They haven't protected well all season.
Welp that settles it guys......go sign a bunch of 400 pound people, because obviously weighing the most means you win by 3 touchdowns.
Where in the heck are all the Oregon fans coming from....The BandWagon I guess... DJ What are you gonna do if Winston somehow ends up with the Dolphins? LOL.
I bookmarked this page for I can brag I was right in 4 weeks. I don't even like FSU by the way, I just know this will be no contest. If they win by just 17 points don't be like YOU SAID THREE TOUCHDOWNS. They're winning this game.
your probably right, thats why I said pure rooting interest, I hope is different then they will..this isn't a game for me to break down and all that, i just want the mariota kid to win..
lol..oh ill get over it, as long as he straitens his punk *** out.. man for me personally that college game is gonna have more significance then any other college game I've watched.
stop it...your scaring me. I just so want to see Mariota go off...Florida state hasn't seen a qb like this.. when he takes the field, every inch is threatened.. the success lyes in the speed in between plays..they literally will take 9 seconds to line up again..relentlessness. you just can't deny the fact the florida state has nfl talent up and down that roster, while the common fan can't name 1 player on oregon beside Mariota. don't forget, Mariotas damage was done while playing behind a porous, inexperienced line.. I would rebuild everything to fit this kids skill set..I would draft and acquire specifically to compliment his skill set, I would fire people who weren't all in on the read option spread and only hire those who were.. if I were chip kelly I would give up the farm to move up to the first overall pick in the 2015 draft. I've seen great displays of innate accuracy so for those who think he's just a product of a system, keep watching
Yes DJ, it will be 2 very gifted QB's fighting to lead their team to victory! And I do hope Jameis matures into an adult sooner rather than later.
I'm seeing things in this dude, man...I said this a loooong time ago, he is without question the best dual threat prospect ever, and it's not even close son. his skillset, his awareness on the field in the moment of a play, and what he does with his QB skillset after his brain sends the message to the body, leaves me almost speechless.. If whoever drafts him changes anything about him, they should be shot..
old game... its 35-10 ducks over bruins late 3rd quarter, and Mariota is screaming at his players to get to the los to run no huddle...he takes the next play for a keeper on the read otpion for 15...then play action of the read, drops a 30 yard dime down the sideline.. my point is whoever gets him has to play this system, I mean why wouldn't you.
