I understand every team has the sunshine pumping crowd and the earth is falling crowd but the time has come for us to introduce a third type of crowd and that is the enough is s enough crowd. this is my way of saying its ok to be in the middle of the road. some people seem to love this its ok to lose we will win someday approach but I am not going to live forever so want to see in my lifetime Miami to stop dicking around and become a great franchise instead of this we will be better next year crap. it seems that a losing environment has bubbled up and fanes are making all kinds of dumb excuses . just because Saban Left doesn't mean we will replace him with the right coach . Sparano was a horrible coach and need to go , Philbin is not any better then the coaches he fired. lets face it if we want to be a real team instead of a clown college then we need a man who has the ability to coach . all we have done since Shula Left is settling for less other teams go out and get what they need to get better Miami just gets the , get by type of players . we must have a new attitude if we want to be a respectable team . can we please stop with all the excuses we have not won a playoff game since 2002 or 2003 . and haven't been to the playoffs only once since 2002 so. I am tired of people making excuses I want Miami to go get the stud players instead of the dud players.
They were wrong about Wannstedt Sparano Cameran and now Philbin. Trust me their excuses is a joke at this point. They just love them some mediocrity.
If you have the answers, spit 'em out. The problem is that people with your mentality have been running the show in Miami for too long. The channel surfers want to flip the script every couple years thinking there's an easy answer and that you can just throw money at the problem and buy a winning franchise with any hint of patience. I find it hard to believe that anyone would look at the last 15 years of Miami Dolphins football and think that constant turnover is the way to win.
It all comes down to the gm. Get the right GM and you can have sparano or wannstedt hoisting the trophy with cleo lemon as the qb. I like what hickey did year one. Not a hundred percent sold on his draft ability yet but he did really well in the fa market Having said that I have hated philbin from day one. Would definitely like to get rid of him
To average people they're what's known as explanations, reasons, talking points, etc. But logical discussion doesn't work for some. I wonder what they'd talk about if we did win...?
Yeah this thread is pretty bad. I don't work for the Miami dolphins, I'm not in charge of football operations. My input on the hc means nothing. My input on the gm means nothing. My thoughts on one player or another does not and will not impact the franchises decisions. You're acting like every one of us is Stephen Ross and we are just refusing to fix the situation.
What bothers me is..same damn team..same one..we have seen for 5 yrs now. Oh it's December, tell my how Dolphins football is improving...lol Gosh, when can we find some offensive lineman..oh wait...was that Dallas Thomas Dumervil was spanking..3rd rd pick..oh go on
I want a HC that has FIRE and PASSION ... He doesn't have to a genius, just smart enough to lead and find good coordinators ... I do not want a good 'manager' .... We've had exactly 1 since JJ .... and he was smart enough to leave for a better deal and easier life ....
They've been making excuses and seeing the world through aqua and orange colored glasses since America OnLine was the ISP of choice and 16K baud telephone modems were the shiznit. Trust me, I'm old.
whatever happens remains to be seen yet but it would seem that philbin will be gone. With that said, someone mentioned the other day about looking at Harbaugh and he said that if Harbaugh balks or blinks an eye about coming to Miami, then cut off negotiations immediately. I think that approach should be taken with any new possible candiate. No matter how good any potential new HC is, if his heart really isn't here in Miami, then it likely would be just more of the same and we'll all be here in 2-3 yrs having this discussion yet again.
One man's excuse is another's reason. If something happens because of some other event/happening, how is that an excuse? It's a reason. Reasonably speaking.
Huh? That makes less than no sense. It makes negative sense. You've tried to divide coherence by zero.
The Dolphins have been a late season collapsing team for as far back as I can remember. How many times in the 80's and 90's did the start Sept, Oct and part of Nov hot and then just poop all over themselves. Let's not pretend this is a new thing that's happened in the last 5-7 years. It goes back WAY further than that. Some of it's coaching, some of it's players, some of it's both. But don't kid yourself and think this is new.
I'm not quite sure how you determine that anyone but Ross has been running the show in Miami for the past six years. The fact is that if he cared at all about what the majority of the fans wanted, he would have fired Ireland when he fired Sparano. He also would have done a better job than to hire a head coach who had zero experience as a head coach at any level of football. The reason this team is mediocre, year after year is because the owner doesn't have a clue when it comes to hiring a quality head coach. When you hire a mediocre head coach, you get mediocre results on the playing field. I think the real problem is this teams owner and not the fans who you mistakenly believe are running the show in Miami.
the excuses that people not so much on this board but other places as well. some people will give the excuse , our oline needs to play harder , or we need to run the ball more if you look around you will see it but seeing the Patriots make another run for a super bowl puts me in a very bad mood . plus when one has had recent stint put in your heart, it makes me wonder how many years do I have left to see the dolphins get to become a great team . this is just me blowing off steam but you will see the excuses if you check out various websites. check out other threads if you read between the lines you will see the excuses . I now return you the soap opera As the world turns. This rant was brought to you by Kellogg corn flakes because I am flaked out . and Broadway musical company that brought you the hit show " FIEDLER ON THE ROOF " starting TWINKLE TOES Tayler , ZACH Thomas , JAY FEIDLER , AND RICKY WILLAMS as the WEEDHOPPER . you guys may be right , I need to chill out but the pressure is on me to see this happen before I get older.
while we are discussing this is there any coaches that any of you might be interested in ? I am having some trouble coming up with any names. oh wait here is a couple of names at least for a offensive coordinator . Scott Linehan for oc and Randy Shannon for dc . ok how lame is that ? those guys may not be a head coach but as coordinators they may do well .
