I'm a believer in everything takes time. I admire the American sports ethic of giving the coaches a couple years. I support a football team in the UK. I sat through a season with 3 different managers once. It was awful. It was unfair to the players and the fans.
I think Philbin should probably go regardless of the the next 3 games. If the previous 43 haven't demonstrated his capabilities then I'd question our evaluation process. I think Hickey has done a good job but if I believed that I could find better and pair him with a new hc then fine, it's probably unfortunate but that's the business. If I was Ross I would make no proclamations whatsoever. Say nothing. Let the gm and the coach be the gm and the coach. He's got a team president. Let him be iron fist in velvet glove.

Most of teams that compete almost every season our the ones with the franchise qb who will make the team around him better. At the moment we have a game manager who needs a great team and coach around him to succeed. We do not have either.

Following a football team closely involves some degree of "loving" mediocrity, because with the parity in the league, every team has the greatest chance of being mediocre.

I think there's some degree of glass half full half empty mentality as well.

We've been a mediocre team for so long, it's gotten old, but at least we've been playing relevant December football for a few years now.
