The single biggest knock that I don't think anyone disputes is the guy seems to have no clue when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. I love the guys fire, the way his guys will play for him and that his defense is always top notch. His teams have been progressively sapped of talent from bad front office personnel and still before this year have been in the thick of things.

Realistically, Your head coach needs to be at least competent in all three phases and Rex falls short there. Still if it came down to a choice between him and Harbaugh, it wouldn't be Harbaugh who I would hire. I feel something is really off about Mr. Harbaugh.

As far as Ryan Tannehill is concerned, how are we going to do much better? I understand there are legitimate questions that Tannehill has yet to answer. I get that we're 7-7 and probably heading toward 8-8. Having said that, Ryan Tannehill is the best QB available for the Miami Dolphins. We're not in position to draft anyone of value and FA QB's are FA for a reason in this day and age. And Tannehill's arrow is pointing up. We still have Ryan Tannehill under contract for 2015 and we should grab his option for 2016. So we have him for two seasons. Also, with a properly structured contract, I wouldn't fear paying Tannehill at this point. Just much sure the bonuses are front loaded for an easy escape just in case.

With Rex Ryan on board (as a hypothetical) we're getting a great defensive coach, who has a good QB (And Tannehill is at worst, good), who likes to run the ball. With another good off-season, targeting defense and o-line (maybe even a RB) in FA and the draft, I think we could see a similar results to that of the Dallas Cowboys of 2014. That's one big reason I find Rex Ryan really appealing. With the pieces we have in place, Rex Ryan could be the perfect coach for us at this time. Harbaugh is up there too. Only he costs us picks.

I think Rex Ryan is as fine a Defensive mind as you will find in the league

I also think he is bad at player pro decisions and talent development, if you want to make a 2-3 run he'd be the guy, downside is afterwards the cupboard would be bare.
