I was just going to say that. The wheels fell off because, well, the wheels were inevitably coming off at seasons end.

But give me a real reason why you want Harbaugh as your coach, and not all that history you copy and pasted as to why you want him as your coach.

I've been saying there was unjust going on there since they decided not to give him the contract he deserved, that's immediate disrespect and no way can you expect to be your authentic coaching self, I wouldn't put it past Kaepernik that this season is some sort of throwaway for him, based on pure loyalty, respect, and a sense that his coach was disrespected.

The answer to this debate/topic is fairly simple. Harbaugh got Kaepernick to the super bowl, DEFINITELY not the other way around. I think that's quite obvious and undebatable.

Oh, I agree. Its hard to keep focused on the goal at hand when the proverbial axe is falling slowly but surely.

The only thing missing from the paper thin argument against Jim Harbaugh, is a snarky gif from slick.

edit: Calling it paper thin is actually generous on my part.

It's not possible that ross rather have harbaugh at michigan instead of miami, is it?

    Steve Ross IS Michigan.

    And he is also Miami.

Keep that in mind. That's not really an exaggeration. Michigan's business school is the Stephen Ross School of Business. When he lost the vote for the stadium upgrades in Miami he immediately donated $200 million to Michigan athletics.

He ****ing OWNS that program. They don't offer Jim Harbaugh 6 years, $49 million without his knowledge and say-so.

I personally think it's a knockout blow to the Oakland Raiders who might not be willing to pay that much. If Ross is able to knock the Raiders out of this early then he can keep San Francisco from trying to drive up the trade costs.

And I don't know that Ross cares overly much whether Harbaugh goes to Miami or Michigan. Either way, Steve Ross will have his man.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that there are fans that would prefer to keep Philbin over getting Harbaugh. If they wanted Rex Ryan or Malzahn or Cowher over Jim, okay I could at least understand that. But a guy who was never really qualified to be a head coach to begin with and who's clearly proven this task is too big for him? It's nothing short of insane.

Harbaugh was 5 yards away from winning a Super Bowl. With a 2nd year QB who's first start came halfway through the season.

And I think the fact that he's yet to win a Super Bowl helps us in the upcoming battle against Michigan for his services, I don't think he can go back to college, not yet at least, not when he came so close to hoisting the Lombardi, he has to accomplish that before leaving the pro game.

You make it sound like an easy choice when in reality it is keep Philbin or try going after Harbaugh, something we have already tried and failed at. If we get rid of Philbin we will probably end up getting someone lamer than Philbin. I think it is funny how there are a ton of pessimistic people that are optimistic about getting Harbaugh. For the record I am all for keeping Philbin, not because I think he is a great head coach because he isn't. I am for keeping Philbin because I like Lazor and I want continuity. I've seen progress in our offense and I want to continue that progress. Tannehill is already much better and he had a slow start learning a new offense. And the deep ball is still on the table, he threw 6 beautiful deep passes last Sunday, I wish all of them were caught but that's a different story. However, if you could gaurentee we say bye to Philbin for Harbaugh I would be all for it. It's a pipe dream though, we will most likely be rebuilding with another unproven coach.

What I've heard is that he prefers Harbaugh at Michigan, but if Jim wants to stay in the pros, all bets are off and he will go hard for him in Miami. That is not any inside source, just what the rumor mill is churning.

Problem is we lose games more often because of Philbin not despite of him. All this progress would be for naught if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

He's probably given close to that amount to Michigan. One of these has been part of his life for 50 years. The other has not.

His priorities honestly probably are in order, as much as that sucks for us.

Relax guys. Harbaugh isn't leaving the Niners til after the season and even then, they could hold out for compensation.

from what CK said, feel pretty confident that Ross is aware of this offer if not behind it..

What a story if that goes down.

Looks like Ross is finally learning... he knows he can't mess with other head coach candidates while he still has Philbin employed, so he is making an indirect offer from Michigan to up the ante so that he can eliminate other suitors, ie. Oakland. Once Oakland is out of the race, it'll be between Miami in the NFL and Michigan in college, and in that scenario, Ross wins either way.

Although a lot of people on this board think otherwise, I have always speculated that Ross didn't make several numbers with nine zeroes to the right of them by being dumb.

LoL yeah Ross is using Michigan, who he donates unthinkable amounts of money to, who he has been supporting for years, as a covert plot to get harbaugh here. Lmao.

When Mondo says things people don't like mando is an idiot w no sources. But today, mondo knows all.

If what is being speculated is true, he using not using Michigan for the sole purpose of getting Harbaugh in Miami. He is using Michigan so that Harbaugh will have mainly two choices: Michigan and Miami.. both would please Ross, it's the ultimate win-win scenario for him.
