yeah, don't think he's going anywhere..please no more from that very small minority who want to move Wake.

Teddy bridgewater looks like the real deal..He's so quick in his qb movements and responsibilities.sets up like really quick..Our defense will need to bring it for 60 mins.

Zimmer man...6th best sacking team in the league..Griffin and Roberson on the edges..

xavier rhodes their #1 pick playing well..

This is who I wanted to draft...and I also wanted to trade back up into the 1st round for the guy in my avi...so basically the Vikings pulled off my dream draft.

I couldn't tell who should feel worse for not coordinating between suits or Nordic sports leisurewear... C'mon guys, some sort of weird caste system you're working on?

Watch wake exclusively during the game last week. Times where he quit as the balls snapped. Slow off the ball. Immediately engaging with RT and stands straight up, chopping feet not caring at all. Play action meanwhile is happening and brady has all day to throw.

It's great having a 9th inning dominate closer who can give you a strong performance in small timeframes. But what happens when you never have the lead in the ninth? A great closer is worthless.

Wakes play has dropped off and he's a big liability against the run. Sad.

I think that film is a microcosm of what's wrong with Miami's defense. There's hardly any push from the interior guys - Odrick is clearly not right and he's been pretty awful the last month; Starks and Mitchell both have trouble when double-teamed - and Sick is correct re: Wake last week. Olivier Vernon's shown that he's consistently inconsistent week-to-week. And, to me, it boils down to Kevin Coyle not scheming well enough to get Wake in good positions.

It's why I'm an advocate of a 3-4 type scheme where you can get Wake wider (see the final sack against the Jets; Miami's in that 3-4 look with Wake out wide). You don't even really care what stance Wake is in, just let him rush. I think the main problem with this defense is that while Miami's using Olivier Vernon as a base DE trying to play 5/6 techniques, he's just not good at it; he's better when playing out wide. So, you see Miami playing a lot of under fronts where Wake is playing 5/6 techniques which makes him a prime candidate to be double in the run game, and it's lining him up at a natural disadvantage when he's pass-rushing, so he's often doubled or chipped.

This is why the staff tried to make Dion Jordan bulk up and put him there, so they wouldn't have to have Olivier Vernon playing there as much and could play Wake out wide. Ultimately, that experiment seems to have gone down in flames as Dion Jordan is just bad, and I don't think you can bank on Derrick Shelby playing the run as well as OV, though neither are that great.

Wake's 265lbs, and ultimately in the grand scheme of things, most DEs who are playing that base spot, 5/6 techniques, have 15-25lbs on Wake in size. I think that has sapped him in terms of overall effectiveness. Same with Olivier Vernon and we're seeing what he's really closer to and that last year's sack number was a misnomer. Also having primarily a 3-man DT rotation, with a not right Jared Odrick, has basically stripped the interior of its effectiveness. Couple that with Koa Misi seemingly being always hurt and missing tackles at a Philip Wheeler 2013 pace, you see why our run defense has eroded.

    Kudos Kevin Coyle.

Ultimately, if you do retain Philbin and he's forced to ax Coyle (the Steve Ross Special - see Sparano with Henning/Pasqualoni, see Philbin with Sherman) who are you really going to get to replace him with Philbin still in place? The clean sweep has to happen.

Why play when you are unhappy with the way things are going. Its a testimony to his unhappiness towards the Staff overall. He mailed it in.

Get thru the rest of the season to live another day.

Now having said that, he will have to be ultra careful, when you dont play hard the chance of injury increases.

have to trust that you saw something there, but I will say that the question about him slowing dow doesn't ring true, he still has his explosiveness, I have noticed that he's not re directing to the inside with any sort of repertoire, but in the end, I trust Wake that something is up if he's doing whats you say.

If that's true I want him cut. If he's mailing it in the last two weeks when we controlled our own playoff destiny then he's not only selfish to his teammates but he's a joke. He's getting paid to play. Not make some bullcrap stand to the organization.

That's a pretty crap attitude to have as a player. It was 14-13 at halftime. As fans? Sure we can be pessimistic. But as a guy rockin a "C" on your chest you go down with the ship man. Go down fighting.

He can be rockin a Super Man symbol on his chest. Human nature is what it is.

Sent a message is what he did.

Wasn't it the Ravens game that he was "legally" blocked but looked like he may not get up?

He is not a happy player.

Noticeable to me on that video, other than Cam "Derrick Thomas" Wake and his get off... compare that to Vernon on the other side. Wake explodes off the line, like a sprinter, low and powerful. Vernon... he almost goes backwards at the snap to move forward. They are not similar players at all. They never switch sides either which I'm not sure is good or bad. I'd like to see our next DC stand both of them up in more traditional 34 looks so that if everyone is rushing the passer against 5 linemen, everyone is one on one.

Just FTR, that was the Vikings backup RT. Phil Loadholt was injured earlier this season.
