Sure, you can make the argument that punting was the right call. I'll agree with that.

HOWEVER, if you decide to punt... and Minnesotta is content to just run it up the gut and get to halftime by the looks of things, don't call timeouts!!! Then yes, the defense **** the bed, no doubt, but if you don't call those two timeouts, essentially for the Vikings... you aren't in that position.

It's been 4 weeks since our offense scored 3 TDs in game...zero confidence.

 

We don't need a coach like Rex Ryan here...

 

Dont have a problem with timeouts called (if we were a decent team). Because a team with 40+ seconds would maybe get in field goal range. Miami on the other hand use the timeouts to help the Vikings stop the clock and if they stop em on 3rd down with 40secs left I **** you not Philbin would call a run or two to run the clock. SO WHY CALL TIMEOUTS with no intention ever to go for it with 40secs left....

First time I have ever said this....... GOODBYE Philbin

 

In other news, the Texans are up 16-0 on the Ravens and the Steelers are up 10-6 on the Chiefs.

 

I have been meaning to tell you...I wish that would have been our draft..swapping Landry for Robinson plus happy with James..we could have used the aadn'l CB & OL

 

We literally did the same thing last week and got a TD before halftime. How are you here every week and don't get it?

That the seemingly better alternative to witnessing this display of game management is the dark, bleak unknown of hiring a new coaching staff.

The Timeouts were 100% the right call. The defense just has to make a stop on 3rd and 5. Only fault Philbin had with that call was counting on this defense to make a stop

If anyone had any doubts about Philbin's future with this team I don't think you should now. And when I say Philbin I especially mean Coyle.

You expect a huge *** punt return every week??? That's the only reason we got the TD last week... Without the big Landry punt return, we're not getting that TD last week.

So, how don't you get it?

They were content to run out the clock. Simple dive plays up the gut.

I get that it worked last week, but that's where Philbin is clueless. It doesn't mean it's going to work again. He has no idea what he's doing out there. at best, if we stop them and use all 3 timeouts. Realistically, we're likely getting the ball back at around our own 25-30 if we're lucky. That's a long way to go, with a ****ty kicker, and shaky OL. Last week we got lucky with a big punt return.

 

Totally agree it was the right call. At some point, we have to put accountability on the players. Other than Lamar Miller, I've seen zero from the guys we need to step up and win in December.

 

Why do you especially mean Coyle? Do you really think there's even a possibility that Coyle is fired and Philbin kept?

They sure are playing like it.

 

I agree that TOs were the right call.

However, last week and this week aren't the same. We had more time last week. This week, we had 7 seconds at most.

Our punt block team has been great this year. So again, I agree with the TOs.

But had he decided to let it run, that's ok because we had such little time if we got the ball. It sucks our players are so inept that we can't pick Philbin up every so often.

 

Meanwhile look how hard the Jets play for Rex.

 

That's a tall order, chief.

Absolutely. It's on the D too. However, we put them in a bad position IMO with the coaching decisions there.

 

How is it Philbin's fault that three players all failed to make a tackle?

 

Including Tannehill ??? What seems to happen tp him when pressure is on needing wins?? If he wants to stay in Miami, the he needs to learn how to win when the pressure is on. And before anyone says anything, yes I have been watching the game? Yes I have...every one of them...we have several areas that need vast improvement & Depth.
