Yeah it was obvious with the way they came out at the beginning of the game.

Ross just took the excitement of a good game and a nice win, and just about lowered his pants and ****ted all over it.

I don't disagree, we got beat by teams that are better than us.

We could have folded multiple times today, but continued to fight. That does say something.

Gun to my head, I would have fired Philbin but I'm not pissed about him returning.

Ross saying "we're building something great here"

Yuck, 8-7 and another playoff miss equals something great for this owner.

Earlier in this thread i said " You've been Warned".

Now lets watched Rex Ryan, Harbaugh, and every other candidate get scooped up, and we can get in on the action after starting 0-8 next season. HAHAHA

And we saw how well Tanny played, but guess what? HE IS SCREWED.

Once failbin screws us up one more year, it will be blamed equally on tanny, and he is done. All b/c of this meaningless win. Ross says he coms back after barely beating the vikes at home! hahahahahahahaha hahahahha

UGH. Here comes a ****ty offseason. How stupid to make that decision based on emotion before the Jets game.

Sure obvious by the way we finished it, though.

Down 14-0, 17-7 and 35-28 and we fought back each time. With nothing to play for.

Again, gun to my head I would have moved on from Philbin but I'm not going to start throwing things in a rage because he's returning.

You should be pissed. Ross just guaranteed us another season without the playoffs. We'll make a signing or two in the off-season to get our hopes up. People will discuss whether or not we can take the division. It's the same story every year. This time next year we'll be discussing the coaches that are going to be available.

Maybe, or maybe next season is when it all gets put together. Only one way to find out.

Clearly Tannehill is blossoming. That's a big step.

    I would fire Coyle though.

And the previous 3 weeks when the games mattered? Why didn't they play for him then? It's because he doesn't inspire anyone. He doesn't motivate anyone. He's not a good coach. I'm pissed because of how much I care about this team and Ross doesn't care at all.

I missed the end of the game; did Ross really come out and say that? I can't figure out if it's a joke or not.

At some point, you're just not good enough. It sucks that we lost, especially the way we did. The way I look at it is during those games we were decimated at LB and CB. You couple that with your best OL, horrible backups at OL and a team that just doesn't have the depth, well you end up with the results we got.

How much of this is Philbin? I don't know. Maybe all of it. There's also a part of me that thinks Irelands talent acquisition is still hurting this team.

As far as I'm concerned, next year there is no excuses. Two years of Hickey drafting and managing our talent. Four years of Philbin. RTH's fourth season as a NFL QB. It's win or bust.

One TD on a 23 yard drive and one TD on a 5 yard drive. Granted it wasn't pretty, but the score doesn't tell everything by itself.

9-7 with a **** ton of injuries in a year where 9-7 doesn't get you into playoffs but normally does. We lost to all playoff teams. Sucks. We aren't great. We were good with bad injuries. Hopefully we turn the corner next year.

    We got our QB though....

Tannehill has shown much more growth than Hackenburg. Why in the world would you want to be in that sweepstakes?

I am not sure about Phibin, but if this is the case, it will not damper my feelings about being a Dolphins fan next year.

There was a really good article about coaching and the 'win now' mentality in today's NFL. What I have seen from Philbin this year is okay, but there is some true progress in areas.

Anyway, the article pointed out two great coaches who had horrible starts to their careers (Chuck Noll and Tom Landry) and how they probably would not have survived in today's NFL. While I am NOT comparing Philbin to either, there is something to be said about consistency.

I think, and this is just a pipe-dream, IF Rex Ryan were to come to Miami as DC, this team could go places. I will give a pass to Lazor with some of the inconsistencies on offense, but Coyle has been here, and while there is marked improvement in some areas, this defense does not play well when the game is on the line. There are at least two games where this defense did not make a play to secure the win. I put that on Coyle.

I realize that. But they could have kept them out of the endzone too, on at least one of those occasions. Still not very impressive.

Yes it was... And another one of those hidden plays Wallace makes that doesn't show up on a stat sheet but leads to points.

Yes, that's exactly it. I'm the only person who thinks Philbin should be fired.

Shame on me for not wanting to be mediocre once again.

people can talk all they want about stability and etc. The fact is philbin does not have what it takes to be a winning coach or a leader of men. He does not have it. PERIOD.

Our best game of the year was th eweek philbin was not at practice all week. Philbin is meaningless and def does not help us, but prob hurts us. This is a suicide note for next year. Thanks ross!

I don't see how Rex Ryan doesn't get a head coaching job... But if he doesn't, why would he come to Miami? Thinking if philbin gets fired next year he has an in?

It doesn't matter if you're the only person, what matters is you're drawing a conclusion about Ross' emotions based on differences of opinion. You have no way to prove Ross doesn't care or cares less than you.

I agree. Just trying to think of any possible DC who'll be available. Someone whose had some success in that job in the past. Rex Ryan will be a head coach somewhere, so not even considering him.
