I'm hoping for a better Dc i would like Coyle as db Coach cause is really good at it..Im seeimg Todd Bowles defense he is playin them aggressiv
At the moment the Dolphins are a team who have the talent to beat almost any team but due to inconsistency and lack of depth will likely lose to the best teams, stand a reasonable chance of losing to average teams and might lose to a poor team. What I want is to see the Dolphins become a team who might lose to the best teams, usually beat the average teams and only rarely lose to poor teams. In short, I want to see them consistently steam rolling the poor teams, winning those middle-road games and challenging the best teams. That's where we want to be, that's where we belong.
That's pretty much who we are right now. If we win the final game at home we'll be 9-7 overall, 4-2 in the division and will have lost to Play-off ready teams (GB, Det, Den, NE, Bal) and elite defensive fronts (KC, Buf). We're a pretty solid team that did exactly what you described during the course of this season. Looking at this roster and the 2015 schedule, I'd say 10-wins is to be expected. We could certainly get to 11 without anything crazy happening and even 12 wins is a real possibility.
As for 2015, I'd like to see our O-line get some young, fresh talent to fix up the Guard position and I'd like to see us pass protect consistently enough that we more or less see the same offense every week. This year there was a lot of inconsistency that stemmed largely from the kind of talent we had. Today our offense looked unstoppable but it won't necessarily be that way next week, although I think we can certainly manage a win.
Let me clarify. 1. I would like to be able to classify Detroit and Buffalo as games we should typically win, and the others where we are confident any other game going either way. I don't see Detroit and Buffalo as the best teams. 2. It's not just about the wins themselves, it's how they come. I want to be in the place where I am confident that the Dolphins have a good chance against the best, and consistency against the rest.
We've beaten 3 teams with winning records this year. We're not that at all. We're a team that usually beats the bad team while making them look better than they have all year, usually loses to the teams with a winning record, and is 0-2 against the "elite teams" we've played this year.
Nah, I'm with you. It sounds to me like you are describing a better and slightly more capable version of this years team. I think we'll have a real shot to do what you're describing next year. We won't have to contend with Denver or GB, instead we'll get teams like Indy, who are good but still very beatable. I'll buy into that. We're all hoping for progress one way or another. Cheers!
Whats hope? is it the same as realizing, when you really think about it, that you basically view the chances of your team winning, or being in the super bowl the same way you view yourself striking the lotto for 10 mil. and you don't play the lotto? B/c when i just thought about hope for the 2015 season, that is what came to mind for me.
A Tim Bowens Solidify the line... Pumped up kicks... and would it kill them to put a couple of sensory deprivation tanks in the training room!?!
Honestly i expect alot of pundits picking miami to have a breakout year, similar to how they were with Tampa this year. Personally I expect some holes to be filled via draft and free agency and RT17 being even better in the second year with lazor and an improved oline. All reasonable expectations that should equal a few more wins.
Nonsense, imo. That's what ppl said this year. They are t going to improve the roster by very much at all this year. 1) Wake is getting older. 2) some key players will be trying to rehab from severe injury or will be gone. 3) Coyle is a worthless DC who can't use the #3 pick in the draft effectively. Ross will have done in the Dolphins yet again and by the time he puts the team up for sale they will be in disarray at the HC position. It's fubar at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ross is in an unenviable position. Firing the GM, HC or staff would be the ultimate in impatient meddling while keeping the current regime apparently represents "mediocrity" for a lot of people. Personally, the further away the owner is from the team, the better. And that goes for all of them. Ross ain't any different.
I hope that some of the young players (Tripp, McCain, Taylor, Turner) steps up, Albert and Moreno gets healthy and Tannehill does the last step to become elite.
Two years ago we could win games scoring just 17 points. This year we could lose scoring 36. Pretty obvious were the major needs are. Ndamukong Suh in the offseason and our CBs won't have time to look good or bad. Add a thumper at MLB to that mix through FA or the draft and no more getting gashed on the ground. If that is all we do this offseason, on top of getting some quality depth, I will be quite excited come next September.
