    Strong 8/10

I want to give this a higher rating, but as of my first viewing, I'm not sure I fully understand/appreciate the intent of the film despite the fact I really liked it. Probably the best time-travel paradox film I've ever seen. Time Crimes is very close 2nd. Maybe I'd still rank TC #1 if it were in English, but I felt somethings were lost in translation. With complicated films, the language barrier can tweak perspective and understanding.

I don't really want to summarize the film because it's hard to not give something important away while helping you understand its content. Needless to say, it's a very good movie. You'll enjoy it if good storytelling. And if you enjoy sci fi, you're going to enjoy it all that much more. Also, I no longer view Intersteller's ending as a plot hole. I think this film clearly made an interesting point about time travel.

Saw The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies, and enjoyed it. I really felt that all three movies were about equal in quality, and good but not great.

I saw it too and enjoyed it very much. might go see it again next week since I have 18 days off and need to get out of the house (wife runs a family daycare in my home). I thought it was definitely better than the last two movies. While I enjoyed the first two movies, I didn't think there was enough content for two whole movies then the finale. first movie where I actually enjoyed watching Legolas (even though he was never in the hobbit)

I think that while they took liberties with the book, they were well intentioned and well done. Peter Jackson clearly loves the source material and does a great job with it.

not arguing that. he at least tried to make the connections logical. it's a shame there won't be any more tolkien movies.

H actually didn't completely rule out the possibility. Jackson said he'd be taking a few years off, but that he'd like to aquire the rights to several other books if possible. Apparently, the Tolkien family has been reluctant to do so.

Watched The Interview. Didn't think it would be funny, to be honest, but it was pretty hilarious. Over the top at times, but overall it was pretty good.

As for Unbroken, read the book, it was incredible, don't have much interest in the movie. Angelina? WTF, why? lol

I saw Prisoners over the weekend (yeah I know it's an older movie). I thought it was great. Thoroughly entertained. Had me wondering what the hell was going on the whole movie. Can't ask for more than that. Thought Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal were very solid.

Watched How to Train Your Dragon 2 with my wife and kids. I love that Dreamworks is so into making quality animated movies that can appeal to anyone and not just kids, while being family safe at the same time. Good adventure movie and I like where they took the characters. Rare to see an animated movie sequal where the characters have actually aged and developed in the time since the last movie ended, which was cool.

I've wanted to see that one too. I remember seeing a trailer for it at the cinema more than a year before it came out, and then forgetting about it. By the time it was actually out, I was thinking "didn't they release this earlier this year?". I think its one of those I'll eventually DVR on a free preview weekend of HBO or Showtime (whichever studio made it).

    about that ending...

I thought it was pretty obvious what happened. He could hear the whistle. So I'd imagine he found him in that hole. Unless you are referring to something else?

May have been a figment of his imagination. The mom told him Ana lost her whistle and he may have been imagining where one might hear a faint whistle on the premises. He may have been putting two and two together at the site one last time.

The investigators told him when he arrived that the ground was frozen solid. I would think if/when they dig Hugh out, that they likely find him long dead and gone.

Great movie. Alan Turning is quite an interesting character and it's incredibly sad what was done to him.

Unfortunately, half the theatre seated in the lower levels drowned in the Testosterone that flowed from the screen.

I didn't enjoy American Sniper as much as it seems most did. The movie was incredibly well done (other than that really fake baby, LOL). Bradley Cooper did a great job. He probably deserves the Oscar. And I have an affinity for the position. I was never in the military but I always suspected that I would have ended up a sniper if I had. (A combination of my personality and very good accuracy despite my never having owned a gun). So I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time. But for some reason it just kind of fell flat for me. I had purposely avoided any info about Kyle. All I knew going in was that he was considered the deadliest sniper in American history and the story of his passing. Yet the story felt predictable. I really wanted to love the movie. I liked it but I didn't love it.
