He has every right to be frustrated BUT........ Totally inexcusable PERIOD! My guess Greg is that you have not played many team sports in your life, not a shot at you. But just guessing by what you wrote. There is never an excuse to act like that...never. Could Mike have a good point about this coaching staff? Sadly yes, but the team comes before 1 player..ALWAYS! I have played team sports my entire life, played it and coached it. No excuse for it. And as a teammate, I would have been in front of his locker before Gibson, so he could hear about my frustration with him..behind closed doors. Disappointing post by you.
Tannehill can't try free agency. He has another cheap year, then an option year. Then he can leave. Let's try to keep it together here, people. We don't have to stay mad at Wallace when it's likely that Tannehill isn't still mad at him.
I really dont think the problem is Tannehill and Wallace or the coaches still being mad after this game. The problem was the timing of it and coming off looking like a spoiled child during the game and being interviewed after it
Right now, it looks like there are a lot of assumptions about what was actually said, and what actually happened. Did Wallace bench himself, or did the coaches bench him? Right now it looks like speculation as to which way it is.
This kind of thing happens somewhere pretty much every week. Hell, it happens in Dallas about once a month. They seem to be doing okay. I am not saying I don't have a little bit of a problem with it, but we can all put away our pearls. It's not that big a deal.
I'm not Mike Wallace's biggest fan so I'm going to stop posting in this particular thread. Once again, I feel I'm playing the devil's advocate. To be honest, I don't really want to stand up and defend a WR that I wish the Dolphins had never signed. I'm just pointing out that most of the responses have been very emotional and childish. If these guys were held to their own standards where they work, they'd probably be fired after a couple weeks. I have to laugh when someone is cursing at Mike Wallace on the interest. Like, really? The guy is a horrible fit for this offense and he's been torching DBs all season long. At some point he was going to say something about not getting the ball because, you know what? He's actually right. If you get open as often as he does, you should be getting the ball more. But like I said, I don't love Mike Wallace as a football player because he's a poor fit for this team. I'm not going to waste my time pointing out that a few fans sound like idiots in a thread. If they want to cry, let 'em cry I guess. Sorry to "disappoint" you, haha! j/k
Exactly its about him. I wouldnt even be that mad if it was after a ****ty 3 and out.....but after a long awesome TD drive when your QB is getting smashed in the mouth making tough throws......it makes you look like a moron.
Ross's blocking and tackling were terrible, but I think where he sucked the worst was in pass coverage. Just because he is 75 yrs old, doesn't mean he should let Decker get that wide open. Old bastard anyway.
There are likely two sorts of people who feel strongly about this: 1) the ones who feel Wallace is justified because he's expressing an emotion (anger) that they, too, have toward the team, and 2) those who are angry at Wallace because he's a convenient outlet for the anger they have toward the team. Neither position is likely rational.
Just a thought. Do you think Tannehill would ever entertain the idea of Free Agency? He is positioned for a decent payday.
What is the view like from that horse of yours? You spewed a metric ton of drivel all over this thread and got called on it. Nothing more, nothing less.
The HAPPIEST people right now should be anyone associated with the Dolphin Defense. This Wallace thing might let people forget what an absolute JOKE they have been the last 6 weeks. Get dressed and slink out of the lockerroom while the reporters run around trying to figure out this Wallace thing
What about the people that rationally look at it as one situation? Long TD drive....QB is rekt all down the field....awesome TD pass for over 20 yards to Clay....take the lead into halftime.....yet Wallace is upset....about his own personal stats? Thats bull****. Whether we're 15-1....or 3-13... I would entertain it. Lots of good teams where he'd be a beast. Chicago, Tampa, Arizona, Houston......why not?
Sorry, I didn't quote what I was responding to. "Tannehill should just take his ball and go home," etc. Yeah, it looks bad. The team lost by 10 to a bad team and finished the year 3-5. It's not like everything went smoothly today without Wallace's outburst. I would expect a lot of players to be a little pissed off today, playing for nothing yet again.
sorry but thats a ridiculous opinion, your going to ***** after we score a TD? and Tannehill is a loser, yeah right
Easy, SICK. I hear ya, man. But it's time to think what this team is going to do now that the season is done.
I think he's under contract next year, and the team has an option the following....so he really has no choice unless he holds out.
So Wallace is a *****...who cares. No one on this team is special. We don't have one top ten player at any position.
Where is the video of this? Adam Beasley's tweeting that no one noticed any argument or confrontation
I know there is a ton more to think about this offseason, big offseason for us....but that event really erks me as someone that believes truly that a "together" team will beat a "more talented" team 8 out of 10 times.
You know for absolute certain that is why he was upset? You know for certain that he took himself out of the game?
I know for CERTAIN we scored a TD and he was sitting on the bench with his arms stretched like he was pissed, the same coach that Tannehill yelled at after the TD, was standing in front of Wallace as Philbin was patting his shoulder pad.....Wallace didn't play again after that. You play "Mr we don't know what happened" but I'll sleep easy knowing that's exactly what it is.
I have to Disagree. Ryan Tannehill is definitely plays with heart and would be a freaking beast with better supporting cast. No doubt there were several games he showed it - Denver, Minnesota, Buffalo, Chicago, San Diego
Just another example of Philbum being unable to keep his players on top of their game and his team together, focused, and motivated.
Noone said Wallace took himself out of the game...I think what we can gather is that his actions with Tannehill...the Coach and Philbin left them little choice but to sit his *** down the rest of the game. We may not know exactly what happened but its not rocket science to connect the dots
Philbin should be fired simply for leaving Tannehill in the game at that time. The Dolphins weren't going to win the game, but Tannehill certainly could have been seriously injured at that stage of a meaningless game. I guess Philbin figured Matt Moore should just get paid his five million dollars this season to sit back and watch Tannehill get pummeled in the last few minutes of the last game of the season. As an NFL head coach, Philbin is not only clueless, he is also totally incompetent.
The team has an option after next year. It's high, but they'll either pick it up or extend him. He only sniffs free agency if he falls on his face, IMO. I don't expect that to happen.
Okay gramps, wait till the cows come home, that's exactly what happened....unless you think he was injured, and just decided to not talk to the media after the game......or responded with why he was benched to "it was a coaches decision"......sure Lets wait for MORE evidence. lol
