Heart vs no heart. Wallace has been showboating worrying about 1 handed catches the last few weeks, these guys actually played football today.

I'm not one of those cut Wallace guys, but I have a bit of an issue with so many fans constantly rooting for Hartline and Gibsons heads. Lazor tried to force the ball to Wallace this year and only had moderate success. Idk how that translates to contract terms, but I think it's worth noting around here.

I hope people realize that Wallace only played a few snaps today. I'm not sure he played at all after the 1st quarter.

Consequently Hartline and Gibson had larger-the-normal output.

Unless the Dolphins can trade Wallace, he will be a member of the Dolphins next year. It would just cost far too much against the cap to cut him.

I don't see Gibson being on the roster next year and Hartline will probably only return if he is willing to restructure his contract and take a lot less money.

Gibson and Hartline are easy to replace. In fact a rookie receiver came in and outplayed both of them this year.

how quickly people forget that before today, Wallace had the #1 catch in the entire NFL in back to back consecutive weeks, HARDLY due to 'lack of effort and heart'. If he gave up today, fine. But let's not pretend like Gibson and Hartline have done anything at all this entire season.

Pretty sure I made the point that scheme forced the ball to Wallace this year. Idk about any "outplayed" type stuff but this is the dolphins - let's cut good players BC heck, they suck, easily replaceable. Everyone is easily replaceable. That's why we easily replace holes every year and keep getting better I guess.

Hartline has been more valuable to the Offense. What the brass has been doing is making Wallace work for his $$$.
That's why you can look through the stats and see he's been the #1 target of Tanny.
Gibson will be gone. No need to talk about him.

He's just not the right type of player for this offense.

I would trade Wallace is a heartbeat if we could get something even remotely decent for him.

I had said previously that he's an outstanding talent who is only 27 or 28 years old and that his relative youth is of value. I was hoping for a pick in the top 60-ish.

At this point I might hop on a top-100 pick if it was offered.

It's been said by some that his contract makes him uncuttable and untradeable.

He's a $10M per year type of guy at this point.

If he signed a contract with someone else he'd probably be making $6-8M per year so it's not inconceivable that someone might offer us something, but I agree that I'm being very optimistic in hoping for anything. The odds are that no one will offer us anything knowing that Wallace is overpaid and that the Dolphins desperately want out of his contract. In the end, we'll probably have to bite the bullet ourselves and either pay him or look like fools cutting him.

I don't think cutting him is out of the question per se. I like Mike Wallace's skill-set for a small handful of teams out there, but at the end of the day, the guy is really a horrible fit for this offense. He's not going to be more than 900-950 yards per year until this O-line can protect and this QB can sling it between 35-55 yards with more control.

I love Tannehill but I'm not sure he will ever be able to throw well enough to justify Wallace being here.
