Melo will always have his shooting ability so might as well tank and bring on some better players for next season.
Not really that excited over the win. I actually expected Miami to lose. As bad as Cleveland is right now they're currently the better team. Miami winning was just a nice bonus. I was more thrilled with the way the fans reacted with class. My biggest concern going into that game was that the Miami fans would behave like Cleveland fans had in Lebron's return there when he played for Miami. I wanted and hoped for better. I tend to believe that fans are the same everywhere. The difference here was that the Heat organization guided the fan response in a positive direction while the Cavs organization did the opposite. So while the Cavs may have the better team right now, the Heat have the better organization. If I were to guess the future, my guess would be that in a couple of years Miami will again be one of the best in the league and that Cleveland will continue to be what they are. That's the biggest reason why Lebron's decision was poor from a basketball standpoint. He tied himself to a rotten organization and as great a player as he is, he probably won't be able to overcome that.
Pistons look legit since releasing Smith. Theyre gonna make the playoffs which isnt saying much since its the East but theyre gonna make it.
This team was better and had more heart when Dwight and Beverly were out injured for a few weeks. Cannot believe we are losing to these scrubs. Everyone except Harden has looked lazy as hell for 3 straight games. If McHale had any nuts, he'd bench Dwight and Beverly and start Motiejunas and Brewer.
Beverly and Howard goes out, Rockets go on an 8-0 run. Like I said, bench their a**es. Grow some balls and send a message. Laziness won't be tolerated. This team is too talented for that crap.
Oladipo was clutch down the stretch. Wade was vintage in the 4th quarter but that last possession was ugly hero ball.
We were down 20 in the 3rd quarter. Dwight and Beverly go out....now we're within 2 points. If McHale puts them back in i'm going to lose it.
Of course....the Wizards just went on a 7-0 run now. Joe Philbin (Kevin McHale) is coaching the Rockets and we gave this idiot a 3 year extension.
It's hard to watch Harden out there busting his a** every night and watching other guys laughing it up and giving minimal effort. 33 points, 6 rebs, and 4 assists wasted because our coach is too gutless to give the right guys the most minutes. He needs to confront some guys, and I mainly mean Dwight.
They knew what they were signing up for with Dwight. He's been a descending player since he left Orlando. All the physical talent in the world can't help someone devoid of mental fortitude.
Yeah he's been undercutting Blatt since the preseason and now this whole thing. Seems like a power play to get Blatt fired and Lue or Mark Jackson hired. I know this is a wild conspiracy theory - but him sabotaging Blatt explains his play more than about anything else. The difference between him this year and last is staggering.
I laughed at Lebrons statement yesterday about Blatt. "He is the coach, what other coach do we got?" (Oh wait, im not sitting home with my boys, im answering questions to the media!). " im happy who we have at the helm" disaster, and that team looks like they will get bounced in thebfirst two rounds. You took the great thing you got going here for granted.
Stein / Windy release article about Blatt losing team. LeBron says "I don't pay the bills. He's our coach - what other coach do we have?" Next day "LeBron not scared to leave Cleveland" rumor breaks. Seems like a pretty transparent power play. next question is if Cavs give in, and if they do - is it Lue or Mark Jackson that replace Blatt.
Well Gilbert loves to burn money just look at the contracts he gave last offseason to Kyrie Varejao and Blatt. Each of them are immensly overpaid. Wont be shocked if he fires Blatt despite giving him 20 million in the offseason.
The only bad contract in the group is Varejao. I'd be pretty shocked to see Blatt not make it through the season.
Kyrie was a terrible contract Gilbert gave out to force him to stay on his team, Kyrie was well on his way out of Cleveland till he got that ridiculous offer. the guy has not produced a winning season in the weak east or even a healthy season. When youre making more than Curry, youre overpaid. He should have gotten 4 years 45 million and prove he can be healthy before getting a max deal. gilbert bidded against himself.
Like 20 teams would've offered Kyrie a max. Curry's contract is crazy undervalued. Look at Kyrie's teammates. Of course he didn't produce a winning season - he was playing with complete crap.
Name me those twenty teams, maybe a bad team that has never had a guard with his ability would have gambled on his health but no playoff team would have given him max.
As smart as Lebron is he needs a coach and he took for granted what Spoelstra meant to him. This isnt six years ago , a gigantic amount of talent has came to the league since and the whole Lebron kicking it to Marshall or Gibson or mo Williams may have been good enough to win 60 games at that time but thats not gonna fly now. That will barely get you 45 even in the East.
C'mon now Sec. Everyone knows Rich Paul is the GM. And Maverick Carter is simply the Team Activites Coordinator / Itinerary Scheduler / Assistant to the GM.
Anyone else hear this? http://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/2qxt0i/listen_to_this_link_carefully_did_lebron_say_to/ I had heard some speculation that LeBron said something like this, but I didn't hear this whole thing. I doubt he'd leave, and I'm sure this is all part of a power play to get Blatt out, but it's all pretty funny nonetheless.
No chance in hell that happens. I dont think lebron leaves Cleveland even with a first round exit, would look bad for his image. But then again he never cared what anyone thinks of him.
No matter how bad Cleveland will be this year (I still think they get their **** together and play in ECF, imo) He isn't leaving Cleveland. Ever. I think he locked the door behind him on that one.
Interesting. Now, can we objectively look at his weight loss over the summer and wonder if that made a difference?
It is interesting that despite having a much better roster than Miami, the Cavs might finish the year not much better than the Heat.
I don't know about much better. Lebron>Wade>Bosh>Kyrie>Love>Deng. Then there are a bunch of other guys, and you could argue that those guys are about even in talent (I can't see the Cavs being clearly better). There is a reason the better basketball move for Lebron was to stay in Miami, and it isn't because Cleveland was more talented.
Lebron battled back issues last year as well and losing wright is actually good on the knee and back which is the reason why he did the weight loss... He played with those injuries all of last year...Honestly I think he's sending a message to Gilbert in regards to Blatt and the roster. lebron wants changes, he isnt going to play injured if the players are just going to play like losers.
Bosh has certainly not been better than Kyrie for much of the season. He was great at the start, but faded a bit and has not played well since he came back from injury.
Bosh and Kyrie has been a wash so far this season as far as impact goes but Bosh's resume makes him the far better player its not even close. Anyways I think you will see roster changes for the Cavs the next two weeks, everyone but their three core players will be available for trade. They will Probably get Mozgov or someone that can help them.
I meant in terms of depth. Marion, Miller, Waiters, J. Jones offer better options than most of the Heat's bench aside from Ennis. Some guys have their moments but collectively the Heat are clearly lesser talented than the Cavs but for all that, the Cavs just aren't performing much better. I mean sure things can change, but it's starting to look like a throwaway season for them. I don't think LeBron would miss much time unless he was seriously hurt if he thought the Cavs had a chance this season. As good as Love and Kyrie are, they're not on that established superstar level and mentality that Wade and Bosh have. Everyone else is just chasing a ring but aren't hungry for one. It's obvious Blatt isn't going to last. Was he ever supposed to last long? The Cavs are a unique experiment this year when a player tries to run his team and so far it's not looking good.
