LOL. How is this 8-8 worse than last seasons? Last season we were 8-6 with TWO chances at a win-and-in for the playoffs and got destroyed both times against sub par opponents.

Last year was MUCH worse, IMO.

I agree with Armando on this one... last year it went down to the last game to decide whether we made the playoffs or not. This year we were out with two games remaining. This year, despite "addressing our needs" and building a good team, we have the same record. ]
This year, brought in an innovative offensive coordinator and got rid of Mike Sherman, who, by everyone's account, was a below average to bad OC.
This year we have a 4000 yd QB and 1000 yd RB, yet still are 8-8.
This year we were playing extremely good defense in the first half of the season and had an epic melt-down the remaining of the year.
This year we will pick 14th in the draft, while last year we picked 19.
This year we ended the season by losing at home to the Jets with Geno Smith having a perfect QB rating, the first of the season out of all QB's in the league.

I could literally go on and on...

I'm sorry, but this year it has been much worse.

ROCKY I agree with you but I don't think we have improved at all if I am honest and I am being honest . O ther teams have major improvements we have had little improvement and the defense has regressed and the oline is just as bad so I would not do too much self praising but I like you and you are a good fan but we have serious trouble I heard Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas was really angry after the last pats game.

Ehh, it's all a matter of opinion but I was much more depressed at the end of last season.

This season was a bit disappointing for sure, but I believe we have found our QB so I have hope for the future as long as we can fix the defense.

You were depressed because we were still in it until the final game... I agree with the bolded part, though. I just don't think we have found our coach.

Because there is a crystal clear pattern at this point? There's really no reason to be ****ing around with Philbin at this point.

I just fear our 2015 season will mirror the Jets' 2014 season (or the end of the other disaster 21st century regimes - Wannstedt 2004, Saban 2006, Sparano 2011), rather than the Cowboys 2014 season. We just don't have that kind of luck.

Last year, the main reason we went 8-8 was the offense. This year the main reason was the defense. If we could combine last year's defense with this year's offense, maybe that would be a playoff team. Doesn't work that way, I know. Seems we get one hole patched up a little and the the Good Ship Dolphins springs a leak somewhere else. The way things look, I may never see another Super Bowl winner with the Dolphins before taking the dirt nap.

They couldn't just hold out long enough with 1 game to go against the jets, to give us even a tiny reason to go into the offseason feeling somewhat positive. As stoked as I am about Tanny, it's still just unreal.

    This is worse.

Not only did they again fall apart at home vs the terrible Jets to end the season -- getting thoroughly out-coached and out-played, they were eliminated from playoff contention earlier this year. Their record did not improve despite improved QB and RB play.

In the end, the QB took a beating, the star WR blew his top and players criticized the coaching staff. It's a depressing circus where only the performers are being held accountable while ownership endorses the ringleader.

It's worse now because failure is being tolerated by ownership.

**** that. The angst is real. The locker room turmoil is real. If you want to keep you he's in the sand and ignore it and think the media is stirring up stuff. Enjoy that. But this is very much real. For fans and players.

I firmly believe it's up to coaches to hide holes until they can be filled. In Seattle, their receiving corps is held together with prayers and Elmer's. Detroit won a lot of games with a weak season by Stafford. Somehow Arizona won 11 games. The Bengals have made the playoffs every year with Andy Dalton never having a 90+ rating and a pretty weak season this year. We put our strengths in position to fail and don't help our weaknesses at all. Can someone say Dallas Thomas?

Michigan basically wrote a blank check to lure Harbaugh. The Phins should do the exact same thing to get Malzahn. It's our only hope. Someone has to get in his ear. This team isn't building s**t. They are lost and leaderless.

Gentlemen, the bottom line is this: this franchise will never win anything as long as Stephen Ross is the owner.

We haven't stopped the forward pass since the Balt. game. Had geno been allowed to pass in our first meeting, we'd have been swept by the jets. I agree, time to blow it up. What does Ross do, keeps the status quo.

There should be angst. The last time the franchise won a playoff game people were still worried about Y2K, the Twin Towers dominated the NYC skyline, Joey Ramone & George Harrison were still alive. High School freshmen were born...a whole generation that only knows the Dolphins as a joke that never makes the playoffs.

They can barely buy a winning season or playoff appearance. The lone playoff appearance since 2001 was simply because 1 - Tom Brady got hurt, otherwise Pats win 12 games. 2 - Easiest. Schedule. Ever. I'm surprised they averaged 70,000 fans this year. They must have really hounded people to get tickets. Not sure how long that'll work.

Oh well, it never ends. Much like the Cubs... guess we have to wait 'til next year (every year).

The inability to recognize problems and fix them gets auto mechanics fired. Why not football coaches? If Stephen Ross owned a car dealership, he'd go out of business because he'd run the service department with mechanics he likes, regardless of whether they can troubleshoot and fix cars. We have the same problem on the Dolphins.

The problem is not that we suck. The problem is that the people running this team are clueless about what it takes not to suck.

All I'm sayin' is thank god for Fantasy Football because I genuinely have nothing positive or exciting to look forward to next season with Philbum returning. I'll of course be watching every game, but the disappointing, underachieving, lazy Dolphins won't be receiving my undivided attention amidst a TV screen unto themselves anymore. Until Philbum's gone, Miami will be sharing the screen with 7 other teams on NFL Game Mix so I can spend equal time watching my Fantasy teams. At least they finish above .500 and make the f***ing playoffs.

To clarify, it's not the 8-8 record I have such contempt for and no desire to give my full attention to. It's the way it reaches 8-8. If this were a 6-10 roster that plays hard each game and overachievingly finishes 8-8, it'd be a different story.

Stephen Ross has some kind of bizarre love affair with Joe Philbin. During the bullying scandal Ross spoke of Philbin like he was Mother Theresa.

I can understand if Ross was too proud to admit he made the wrong decision with Philbin but what scares me is that he truely believes in Philbin. How the heck did he become a billionaire again? It just doesn't make sense since no billionaire except Ross would accept continous mediocrity.

He became a billionaire in real estate, which he knows, and not in football, which he doesn't. This team is not a business to him. It's a toy, so he can indulge his feelings.

I think at this point every fan should be done with Stephen Ross. His loyalty does not lie with this team. His loyalty lies with Michigan. He would rather Michigan have the best available head coach in Harbaugh than the team he spent millions on. Think about that for a second.

I have. What I think is that Harbaugh would never in a million years even consider working for Goofy and his Looney Tunes operation. Not for all the tea in China. So Goofy, knowing this, might as well do the next best thing and help his alma mater land Harbaugh.

Why is this a surprise? He has given a lot more to Michigan, and his legacy will live a lot longer through Michigan.

Either way, I don't think Ross is dictating whether Harbaugh is coaching in the NCAA or the NFL.

Good luck with trying to attract good Free Agents here next year. No way we keep the few good players we have now. I think we get the first pick in the draft after next year.
