Just reported on NFL Sirius. I really hope he is not headed to The Jets.

Sucks this was the offseason we could have gotten harbaugh and gamble. Hickey staying is understandable though.

    That's a bad thought.

Gamble left the 49er's to take the job with the Eagles because he wanted to be closer to his family.

A move to the Jets to become the GM would allow him to remain close to his family and it would certainly be a great hire for the Jets. Gamble is highly thought of around the NFL and he would certainly upgrade the talent of the Jets in just a few short years.

It also appears that Kelly and the GM of the Eagles might not be on the best of terms. So if Gamble should get the GM job with the Jets, it wouldn't surprise me if Gamble decides to see if there is a way to bring Kelly to the Jets to be their head coach.

The 49er's wanted to trade Harbaugh to the Browns last year, but Harbaugh didn't want to move to Cleveland to coach the Browns. I think Kelly would have no objection to being traded to the Jets if Gamble was the GM, because he and Gamble get along very well together.

I would love to see Ross hire Gamble to be the president of football operations. Ross could let him decide the fate of Hickey and Philbin. You never know, Kelly might just love the thought of working with Gamble in South Florida.

Of course Gamble coming to Miami isn't going to happen. Ross just isn't willing to let a true football man run this team. He would rather have a lot of incompetents running it instead.

Therefore I predict Gamble will end up with the Jets and Kelly will be the Jets head coach within two years.

Keeping Hickey is only understandable if there isn't a better option available. To me, Gamble is a far better option. So I think a smart owner would do whatever is necessary to bring Gamble in to upgrade the talent on this roster.

Unfortunately when it comes to football smarts, Ross is at the bottom of the class.

Football is like waiting for perfect weather conditions to match up. You need a perfect HC/GM combo to make it work. We missed out on upgrading on our football structure by keeping status quo. Oh well.

What makes it worse, I fear the Jets won't miss out on the opportunity to hire Gamble and Gamble will end up hiring a much better HC than Philbin.

The thought of the Jets getting Gamble and a solid head coach just makes me ill.

I'd be shocked if the Jets were able to get Gamble. You shouldn't lose any sleep over it, that's for sure.

  9. The thought of that gives me boner pants!

Why would you be shocked, New Jersey isn't that far from home, which he values a lot.

Because I have zero confidence that Woody & Co. can do anything right.
