Not really sure which of Wade's best years he stood pat. He brought in Shaq as soon as he could then after that fell apart he set the Heat up with enough money to sign LeBron and Bosh. As for trying to sell a new star, I think he can do it, but that may be even more of a reason for him to make a move this season. Either clear enough space to go after a max guy in '15 to pair with a max guy in '16, or trade for someone who might be attractive along side Wade and Bosh.
When Terrance Jones gets back, I'd strongly consider benching Dwight and starting D-Mo at center and Jones at power forward. Dwight drives me nuts. His offensive game is atrocious. It's baffling because this past postseason he was dominant in the post. I don't know what the hell he's doing this season. He stinks and seems to be content with it...smh I did see your post when the Smith signing happened. I agreed with you, but didn't want to comment on it because I was hoping it would work out. I didn't want him because he's soft like Dwight. I don't want soft. We need some hardcore players to build around Harden who has been ridiculous this year. Corey Brewer was the type of guys we needed. He's been awesome. Ariza has been awesome. Hell, I'm still mad we cut Robert Covington (who has become a really nice starter on Philly) in order to keep Jason Terry. He would have been great as our backup SG. He was the D-league MVP and we cut him....just stupid. Philly has actually become a respectable team since they put him in as a starter.
Covington has been a great find for the Sixers. Ever since he started to get regular minutes, he's put up solid numbers. This isn't directly related to Covington, but since the Sixers awful 0-17 start, they've gone 7-12.
If Whiteside makes me big money again today, he is going to become one of my favorite players. 3rd straight time I've drafted him and he is putting up ridiculous fantasy points. He was a nice find by the Heat.
Yeah, I've been noticing you guys. Congrats on Covington. I knew once you signed him it was going to be a good situation. The kid can flat out shoot. Covington, Donatas Motiejunas, Terrance Jones, and Isaiah Canaan used to kill it in D-League for Rio Grande Valley (Rockets team). We've got a nice farm system going on down there.
Whiteside has to continue getting big minutes... Spoelstra, look at the changes Detroit made and open your eyes, this is the best shot at success.
First time I've watched the Heat in a while, but Whiteside can play. He looks like a nice fit in that lineup.
As Ethan Skolnick said on Twitter, in a world where Timofey Mozgov is worth 2 firsts, how the hell was Hassan Whiteside available for free in December?
Kid has 42 fantasy points thru 3 quarters. Give him a short break and throw him right back out there. I need my money.
Right now, Alonzo Mourning is shedding a tear of appreciation... right before contemplating chokeslamming Van Gundy.
57 points 23 rebounds from Bosh and Whiteside.. And best of all, a Heat win. Guys we might have just witnessed change. Not trying to overreact which is why i said might...
Spo has to start Whiteside now. Has to. He was being stubborn or cautious about it but it's time. This kid isn't a fluke. He's good and getting better. Bosh so much better next to him at his natural 4 position
Z-Bo with 18 fantasy points already. It's only been 9 minutes into the 1st quarter. This may be my night. I'll lose it if I hit for 10 grand.
Buddy of mine who works for the kings scouting department says they are kicking themselves for not letting Whiteside develop.
I work in sports, silly! Lots of friends who played in college or pro's who now work in college and pro leagues.
Mozgov having himself a nice game though collecting stats in garbage time for the Cavs... JR Smith though... shooting 20% 2/10 lol I guess the results are still pending when Lebron is back and see how this new group works for him.
I work in sports too, but unfortunately being a HS football coach in a low division probably won't get me the same connections Not yet
Now we wait and see how Whiteside responds to teams scouting him for games, hope he can adjust and keep up the play style.
