AR12- Top guy in league, razor sharp in his whole game overall, dissects defenses with ease
AL12- Easily has the worst team around him remaining in playoffs, we can basically say he has carried the Colts this far
RW3- Loads of talent around him but there is no denying his talents and his special ability to extend drives.
TB12- Hes the typical Tom we have always known, still makes big plays but he also gets away with the gimmick stuff they do like the 4 OL and 'secret' ineligible OL yesterday.

All 4 remaining are top 10 I would say the top 3 on list are top 3 in NFL at this point, TB12 might be like somewhere in 5-8 range.

I say Carolina woulda had a better shot against the Seahawks and I dont think Seattle would of been as dominant this year with CN1 as they were with RW3. Carolina would have been 10-6 or 11-5 with RW3.

as pete carroll said, the offense is designed to not miss a beat whether tavaris jackson is the qb or russell wilson. and wilson had a good game yesterday. i think there are probably twenty qbs in the league who wouldve won yesterday qbing for the seahawks

This is how I have it.

    Numerically: Rodgers 99, Wilson 95, Luck 94, Brady 92.

There wasn't a formula involved here, but I just tried to quantify the gaps I see between them.

When I want to see a great game by a QB, if I don't break out the Marino VHS tapes, my go to game is Packers vs. Falcons in the playoffs the year the Pack won it all over Pittsburgh. Rodgers is ridiculous, and Luck and Wilson aren't far behind, but they're not on his level.

When nothing is going right for your team, Rodgers, Wilson, or Luck will be able to do something on most occasions. Brady will be able to yell a lot and do a lot of things that make cool GIFs for Dolphins' fans. JMO, as always...

Maybe so, but Tavaris went 7-9 as starter before RW3 got there so your argument is already crushed and their offense was lame with Tarvaris.

I think any coach would tell you that there is frequently a difference between design and execution, which is why you need players like Wilson.

I would rank CN1 in same area as RT17, 10-12 range. I would say RT17 has more room for growth and upside at this point although CN1 has skills that he can hone in on to be dominant in this league if he works at it.

ok. that makes sense. you value the hybrid QBs far more than me. i have watched the randall cunninghams, michael vicks come and go and i just see the latest batch (wilson, newton, kaepernick, griffin) as the latest in a line of flawed qbs who will have the same fates once their youthful burst leaves their legs around age 28 or so. when i look at seattle i dont even look at their offense. to me that is a defense team first and foremost. a 85 bears, 00 ravens, 02 buccaneers. those teams won super bowls with jim mcmahon, trent dilfer and brad johnson. they are all, including the seahawks, the same blueprint for a championship team. shutdown defense, dominant running game and adequate qb. and thats where i have wilson. an adequate game manager probably 10-12. and i think there are probably ten other qbs worse than him that could win on that team

To me, a game manager doesn't go 8-8 with 3 TD's on 3rd down. A game manager avoids the mistake and the team punts or tries a field goal. Maybe he converts a couple of those third downs, but not all of them. A game manager wins yesterday's game by 3 with a workmanlike FG drive to break a late tie.

    Again, JMO.

There is a lot to dislike about 'mobile' QBs, but RW3 seperates himself from the rest because of his work ethic and I feel RW3 is 'mobile' in the same sense that Steve Young was 'mobile'. I think that's the best QB to compare RW3 too as they both use their feet in the perfect occasions except RW3 is a more natural/deadly runner then Steve Young was. Which is also why I feel RW3 is a top 3 QB in this league.

I agree with you on the running QBs, but there is something different about Wilson imo. He is more consistent, makes more crucial plays, especially hidden plays that don't end up on a highlight reel. He makes better throws and takes less hits and seems to take better care of the football.

Good post. I don't see similarities between Wilson and Newton, Kaep, and Griffin. Well, I see one: athletic ability. Wilson's game is beyond the others.

Its funny, all 3 of those guys might be more 'skilled' then RW3, but RW3 works 3x harder then those guys and it shows on film/Sundays. All 3 of those guys have great skills but choose not to work hard to become great passers/runners whereas, RW3 is your perfect example of the 'ultimate weapon' QB as he works hard, study's film, can run and pass greatly. Basically a headache for DC's to prepare for. Mike Vick wishes his career turned out like RW3 is turning out to be.

if he did that every game i would agree, or not even every game because he would be in the hall of fame while still playing if he could do that every game, but rather more frequently. he did it against an inexperienced secondary. not to take away from his game because however you look at it it was a great game for him but to me to get out of being a game manager you have to do it against better defenses. how many rookies did the panthers start? 7 or so? they were missing quite a few players, greg hardy probably being the most important. we'll see. green bay doesnt pose much of a challenge on defense and really the pats and colts dont either except that if the pats somehow get by the colts belichik is a defensive genius that will shut down the run game and force wilson to beat him through the air. if they face the patriots and beat the patriots i will be impressed and change my opinion

on that i can agree too. he is the best of the lot and the only one who has a chance to transcend the limitations of that style. he is extremely smart and more importantly situationally smart which could allow him to develop into something better. i just see that staying in this osborne offense will limit his development and once his speed goes there goes his game. but we'll see. you never whats inside somebody. he could surprise

i do agree that he is the best of this type. and agree with pretty much everything you say. the thing with me is how many other qbs would flourish in this offense and how would wilson play in a different type of offense. would eli manning have won a ring on seattle last year? phillip rivers? ben roethlisberger? matt ryan? matt stafford? cam newton? i mean its a hell of a team, seattle is and there are a ton of qbs who would do well on this type of team win wise. question is can wilson run any other type of offense? i dont think so

steve young is an interesting comparison. steve young was way more accurate consistently game in and game out but you are right about the running. the thing is steve young ran a more complex offense that was more difficult to defend. i dont think wilson can do that

You said it right there. That's not what just separates him from the 'athletic' QB's but that separates him from most QB's in the NFL. He has such a fire for the game, his poise, composure, skills, work ethic, will to win, is just a combination of what it takes to be great. Have you noticed he's a deadly runner that actually SLIDES instead of taking hits like CN1, or RGIII10, or CK7. He is a smart QB which is why his legs will stick with him for a LONG time.

Dallas V Green Bay. Could someone explain to me why that wasn't a catch, you know at the end. And also, once you've done that, go on to explain if it wasn't a catch then surely a fumble and recovered by the same man in the end zone to therefore a touchdown. The ball never touched the ground.
Christ almighty it's a good job I'm not a Dallas fan or had money on them or I'd be buying a new TV today.

    Go Colts and Green Bay!

Colts though have been going through a mess of injuries and one of their tackles is missing the game due to a missed flight which is unheard of...

And the Packers... Will take a brilliant game by Rodgers to win.... Still hope they both make it.
