actually you have that backwards. what you are thinking is steeper is actually flatter. steeper would bring more people closer and being able to see the field better as you would be sitting higher and be able to see over the row in front of you better. a steep rake, if you want a visual would be Arrowhead stadium in KC. even from the upper deck you feel like you are right on top of the field.

Not true..it's not about a roof trapping sound, and then it's all good, it's about getting fans close enough so they must engage themselves into the game, so the players actually feel their presence..as it is now, the fans are too far from the field for that engagement to happen..so what do they do, they sit and the watch..this is fact, it's not opinion..this is why this remodeling of the lower bowl is being done..

Well that... and the fact those seats in the lower bowl can be sold at a premium, so having more seats, makes more cents.

    .

I'm not a Twitter but I would much appreciate if I could vicariously use your tweetness.

    Let me think here..

Fist could you tell him that what Seattle has built is real, architecture wise it stands alone in its quest to become a real advantage, it's a money making machine, it's a severe competitive advantage, and it's the # 1 way. To build real culture and it all has to do with the how the venue is structured, so are we or aren't we doing everything possible to achieve that same blueprint.?

You didn't read the post I was responding too.

The post I was responding too already took into account seats being closer.

Because to mimic Seattle's layout you'd have to start over from scratch.

Like it or not, the current architecture of our stadium has limitations. They are doing all they can within those limitations. You should be happy.

Guarantee that is what they are doing. Miami does not love their team like Seattle does. So comparing the fan base and the city to the "12's" will only lead you to disappointment.

DJ is also talking about something different. he's talking about atmosphere. we were talking about the actual noise and if it will sit on the field or escape.

Let me give you my recent studies on venue relative to performance...

When jerrys world was built I went in and saw the inside, you will find posts on this forum from years ago saying that while it's glitz and glam it will eventually hurt that team at home and that's because there is no intimacy to connect the fans to the players..

Cowboys went 8 and 0 this year...on the road....these are not coincidences anymore folks..this is real, and it has the potential to change the landscape of football as we know, but no one has the ingenuity to understand it, and apply it..

I studied the process of the niners for the three years when they were developing their stadium and listened to all their pressers, this is a team that plays in it first hand against their biggest rivals, and the only things that came out of their mouths was being as green environmentally, and technologically the most advanced, not once did these idiots even take into account what kind of monetary impact building a venue completely dedicated to intimidate would have.

Do you all understand what that vision would do for the home city, the excitement that it would create to know that your venue where your favorite team is going to be built with one purpose in mind..to have the 12 th man be part of the team.....THATS how you rebuild a culture, that's how you help yourself win, and that's how you make sh&&load of money..

Look, its an improvement. Its literally the best we can hope for under the circumstances.

Its like you're coming from a minimum wage job to a 6 figure job but you're sad because no one offered you a seven figure job.

The biggest hinderances in our stadium were no seats close to the field, the sun and the noise level. Those three things are being addressed. Be happy.

Well, we sure used to have that atmosphere in Miami when I was younger and we were winning and the Orange Bowl was rocking with 78,000 Strong loud fans backing the team we were the loudest in the NFL and we also were using the white hankies, oh those were the days...so with the new improvements here I think that we will get some of that back but we still need to start seeing some 12-4 , 13-3 seasons to get that complete feeling back again...maybe 2016 will finally be the year that we start with a new head coach, defensive coordinator etc..along with a great draft and off season and FA this year then everything will start looking up. We better hope all of this happens and fast because the AFC East will rapidly become hard for us with all the changes that the other teams are making. I for one do not want to be " Cellar Dwellers " and I really hope that Ross understands this and that allot of us really take pride in our team. So I do hope that Tannenbaum helps Ross understand that we need new leadership on the field and our players also need to take pride in wearing our colors and defend our pride and reputation at all costs.

DJ, if you look at the distances of the seats from the field at places like Gillette..you'll see they are the same as our new layout. Any stadium that plans on bidding for future World Cup Games, CONCACAF Champions League games, will not be able to have seats right on top of the players, and like it or not, Soccer is only getting bigger and bigger, so they have to keep that in mind.

February through July, yes. I don't want the field to suffer in season because of other things. Moreso, I also dont want the Dolphins experience to suffer because of decesions based on other sports too.

See to me, that's all the wrong approach to marketing, the whole video showed nothing but all the different fluffy lounge places to watch and drink, now, is it an amazing thing to look at, is it captivating in that regard, most certainly, it's beautiful, but it only continues to show that they don't get it..that whole marketing campaign and a teams new venue should be all about 12 th man, and the steps that are going to be taken to do everything legally possible to make it real game experience, that's what you market, that's what your selling..they talk about how their trying to get fans away from their tvs and into their stadiums, but their going about it the wrong way, the way to get the fans to come to your venue is to make them feel like they are impacting the game and helping their team, and there's only one way to do that, and that's build it with the purpose to indimidate and then actually market that as much as you can...you wanna talk about fans wanting a piece of that action...shoot, Seattle fans get ready to go to war 8 to 10 times a year, literally they treat their participation very seriously, and good luck trying to get a season ticket....and you know what, it's the least expensive venue built in the league...it doesn't have to have all the fancy bells and whistles..

Hope your happy Atlanta, your the new jerrys world...dumasses.

this is the big mistake..you should not build your football stadium so you can hold soccer events in it...take the hit on the soccer, build the most intimidating football stadium in the world and watch what happens..

i don't agree, your sacrificing a fortune by not having the type of home field advantage I'm talking bout, just so you can hold a couple of soccer events...def not worth it, the first stadium built to intimidate will make more money consistently on the football end thru marketing, merchandise, culture, sponsorship, competitive advantage, ticket supply and demand, and by all the other events that will want to be there because of the lure thru intimate design.

wanting scoccer is what got us this freakin POS stadium that we have, and what has that gotten us, two programs that have deteriorated over the past two decades..and two programs that haven't won sh%$ since moving in.

Yeah that was pretty much my thought. Technologically, its ****ing awesome. A stadium butthole opens to the sky. Wonderful, fascinating. The Atlanta Anus, truly a sight to behold.

But nothing else about that stadium really excites me. Give me Arrowhead or Sea's Link over it any day. Steep *** pitch with seats on top of the field, dome or roof to trap sound, thats the right way to do it. To build a new stadium, and create such a spaced out butthole contraption seems like such a waste.

BS, its very reasonable if you understand the advantage that comes from the right football design..this is a moot point because even the kind of stadium I'm talking about can hold a soccer field in it...century link has the sounders play.

Building a stadium that you can only host football is extremely short sighted. $250mil + to only be used 8-10 times a year, either means the owner makes no profit, which is why they buy stadiums, or ticket prices are extremely high so most of the passionate fans cannot afford to go. Could ATL have done better to involve fans for football? Sure, but they are trying to establish a MLS franchise as well.

Correct. That stadium was built from the ground up though. This is a renovation. We have to deal with what we can get. ATL went fancy to try and get a super bowl. It will probably work, but that was the intent of their stadium. Superbowls are events to be seen at now. They are not for the fans.

Dj.. How can you say just build it a football venue. First of all, the real money comes from hosting playoff games if I'm not mistaken. And football is a 4 month sport, Soccer is year round. If you look at when JRS was built, the design is fairly typical of that time. Again I use Gillette as an example. You are not right on top of anything in that stadium, yet look at their home record. The kind of money being spent, half a billion dollars, you have to get the biggest events possible. Unused real estate is a cost.
